  1. Ok Guys, I'm new to this forum & a noob to this "F๏rd H๏rde" in general.... Thanks in advance for y'all's advice. As mentioned in title, I own a white 2019 1.5L Ecoboost Fusion SEL. Milage : 28098 Maintenance is up to date as I handle it personally. Carfax shows it's history as a Enterprise rental in Ohio until a minor Front passenger side collision. Cosmetic damage only, nothing mechanial. Car repaired; sold to dealership; bought by me @ around 18,500 mi. So today I did scheduled maintenance # 2 since I've had her & after pouring in my fresh 5w20 it seemed as if it was running louder than I remembered; not only that but there is an intense CLICKING that is even louder than that. This was coming from the small plastic 'WhatTheFucksIt' that can be seen in the pic & heard in the vid clip. 1. I'm trying to identify 'said' part & find out if it's supposed to behave in this manner or if its malfunctioning? 2. Is my Engine idling abnormally loud or is it perfectly fine & I was tripping earlier? IMG_2976.MOV

  3. Just bought a 12 Ford Fusion SEL with sony sync and the stereo stopped playing sound. Had to take it to the dealer after 2 car audio guys were unsuccessful to learn the Sony amp has gone out and needs to be replaced. Which they quoted $860. Any recommendations on the cheapest route to just get sound back again? And does anyone know where the DSP amp is located?
  4. New member checking in from Massachusetts. Had a new 2010 red SE until April of 2016 and then switched to a new Kia Optima LX then and although I never regretted it, I wished I had stayed with a Fusion. Just bought a 2020 SEL with everything but a block heater a couple of weeks ago and all is right with the world again. I couldn't be happier with it and I look forward to joining this forum. (Only negative is the dang autolock rear doors. Googled and tried all kinds of work arounds but nothing shuts it off.)
  5. Good afternoon everyone, I have a 2012 Ford Fusion SEL with a 3.0L V6. I recently had the front windshield replaced. I have rain sensing wipers and all the sudden they do not work.... When you turn the knob once they cycle but after that they do not come on again. The only time they work is on high or ultra high. I was doing some research and cannot find anything on the rain sensing wipers for a ford, or any problems. I did however find different vehicles with rain sensing wipers and how a fix to this problem would be to reset the system.. Does anyone know if there is a way to reset it or what to do to get them to work again???? Thank you!!
  6. I'm very confused about how many speakers I have in my 2006 Ford Fusion SEL. I've noticed that car reviews online have said that the car comes with 6 speakers, but in my car I think I have 8. I have 1 on each door (4) then 2 tweeters on the front doors (2) and 2 in the back part, above the trunk... so my math tells me 8 speakers. Maybe tweeters aren't considered speakers. I don't know?
  7. I'm currently shopping for new tires for my 2007 Fusion SEL, tire specs P225/50R17. I've done some online research but I would also like some feedback from fellow Fusion owners. I am looking for new all-season tires for my car, but since I live in Michigan I have to deal with snow and ice on the roads. I'm willing to prioritize good handling in snow and ice conditions over road noise and fuel economy. Based off my online research the following tires pop up as having the most favorable reviews (listed alphabetically): BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport Continental PureContact with Ecoplus Technology Firestone Champion Fuel Fighter Michelin Premier A/S Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus For those of you who have experience with these tires, which would you recommend and why? Or if there is a different tire you would recommend, which one and why? Any feedback would be appreciated.
  8. Just purchased a 2010 Fusion SEL 3.0 FWD with only 7100 miles. I won't disclose actual price but it was south of 14k. Leather, sunroof, automatic w select shift, sony audio package with SYNC, all power, dual exhaust, rear spoiler, non navigation stereo. This cat was sold to an 80 year old in 2010 brand new for 28k. She drove it home and parked it in her garage only drive to the hair salon, grocery, and church. She passed away Aug '15, RIP, and her daughter settled the estate. Lucky local ad troling turned up this deal, KBB and NADA value close to 17K. All stock. Looking for ideas and on reliable, smart upgrades. Aesthetically and performance. Starting with window tint, possible plasti dip (black) grill to preserve chrome, and Thule roof rack with cargo basket for travel. Thanks! Glad to be part of the Fusion family.
  9. I need a wiring diagram for an auto dimming rear-view mirror on a 2012 ford fusion SEL. I’m planning on installing a new backup mirror. I figure Blue wire for 12v+ and a black/yellow for 12v-. I also have green which I assume is ground. But I have two blue/light blue wire I don’t know about. I could really use some help. And to be clear the mirrors only feature is auto dimming nothing else. I’ve included pics. Also if anybody can give me the name of 16 pin connector that would be awesome.
  10. Hey all, So last year i had an issue with my ac not working. After some digging around and posts on this forum, i noticed the pins on my resistor had melted and needed to be changed. I changed the resistor (black box with the heatsink) and the blower motor as it had gone as well. It was fine for the summer and didn't really use it for the winter (was working in Canada and did not need the ac) I have since relocated to Texas, and last week the ac would cut off and on. I would remedy this by sticking my hand under there and wiggling the cables. This seemed to do the trick till about a few days ago. My wiggle trick stopped working and so i stuck my head under there to see what has going on. I was shocked to see that the resistor pigtail/connector had totally melted. I then removed the blower motor, the resistor the cut the burned pigtail off. The blower motor seemed fine and had no issues so i reinstalled that. I ordered a new connector cable and spliced it in and then ordered a new resistor and installed that. After about an hour of work in the hot Texas sun, i got it set up and the fan turned on and seemed to be blowing air This is the second day after install and i notice it does not get that cold as it did before. i have not done any inspecting yet but it doesn't get as cold as it used to. I notice it gets colder when you hit the max a/c button, but still not to the desired temperature. When you leave it on a/c with the fan high, it doesn't really get that warm. It blows cool air. I am not sure what could be the issue. My install seems to be holding up without any issue but that is all i have looked at. Any advise is greatly appreciated. If there is any other information needed, let me know and i will provide. Thanks, Raf

  13. So I've decided to install my old subs/amp that I used in my 2001 Ford escort zx2 into my new 2012 ford fusion SEL. I want to do so using the existing stock radio. My younger brother gave me a box with 2 10" Sony Xplods 1100 watt and a crappy alpine amp. But who am I to complain about free stuff!?! That's all I know about the subs, the screws are stripped hardcore. So, it wouldn't be easy to look at the backs... The amp stopped working for god know why, so I purchased a BOSS Phantom 2000 watt amp. Ph2.1000. Here's a link to one that's similar to mine: http://www.amazon.com/BOSS-Audio-PH2-1000-2000-watts-Amplifier/dp/B0032FOKT2 (2) 10" Sony Xplod 1100w (1) BOSS Phantom PH2.1000 2000w (S/N: 18878163) (1) 2 10" speaker Box My Fusion is from what I counted a 10 speaker sony sound system with a basic unit (non-nav screen). They said it was an 8 speaker from the Nissan dealership, but like I said, I counted 10. My brother installed the old system in my old car with an aftermarket radio and a random wiring harness. He hooked his up and helped a few of his friends so I just left it up to him. It didn't turn out great haha. It sounded good but we had to install a toggle switch and things such as my rear defrost stopped working so I knew something wasn't right. It slowly drained the battery, but it was just my highschool car so to me it didn't matter. SO, now i'm asking for guidance from you guys. I want to install myself, I want to do it clean and easy. It's what I think a rather small system and that's all I want. No competition system for me! I appreciate any sort of information!! Thank You!

  17. I recently bought a used 2012 Fusion SEL. I've had the apparently common issue where the blower motor makes an irritating buzzing noise kind of like a CD player or a rewinding VHS. I've been trying to repair the part as described by Wes Robinson in http://www.fordfusionforum.com/topic/7318-squeaky-blower/ before I break down and buy a new part. I've managed to get the part out, but cannot seem to pull the fan off as described. The fan seems to be attached firmly and I felt that pulling it harder would break it. Can anyone offer further advice or refer me to a picture or video guide? For reference, according to the dealership, my part number is AE5Z19805D. A picture can be found at https://app.box.com/s/pndvjtpmhchdj071wjxp As a disclaimer, I have nearly no experience with mechanical repairs, car related or not. It's possible that there is something trivial that I've overlooked.
  18. I have a 2011 Ford Fusion SEL (Ingot Silver) with tinted windows, smoked side markers with leds in them, and smoked license plate cover. I want to do more modifications to it, but I need some sites, suggestions, reasonable price options, and so forth!!!! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks PS Attached is my car with the tinted windows however it did not have the smoked side markers yet.
  19. Hi, I have a 2007 ford fusion. My front driver's side window got stuck in the down position. It only gets stuck when the window goes all the way down. Other then that it will go up and down. Whats wrong? Thanks for the help
  20. Hey everyone, this past September I had the privelege of purchasing a new to me 2011 Ford Fusion SEL. When it first came out I was definitely in love with it, but I never expected to be able to get one as soon as I did. Unfortunately my last car (1993 Eagle Vision Tsi) had the transmission go out at 46,000 miles(not a typo), which forced my hand into getting a new vehicle, little did I expect this to even be an option for me. I was happy about getting my parents 2001 Jeep Cherokee, then this opportunity came along... But enough sappy backstory, this car is great! It has leather heated seats, heated mirrors, SYNC, steering wheel controls, pretty much everything but a sunroof, NAV, and a spoiler. Its a 4 cylinder car, which is great for gas, but its not as athletic as a 3.0L I tested out. The main reason I joined the forum is to figure out ways to better the performance and appearance of my Fusion, which I've affectionately named "The Predator". Through roaming the site I already plan on: Changing the headlights to HID LED Puddle Lights, Turn signals, Reverse Lights, License Plate Changing the lower turn signal to a clear lens instead of amber Adding a Spoiler Stripping the stock sound system and adding in all new aftermarket products Maybe Plastidip Grill and Tail lights (Smoke color) Ive attached a couple pictures, and Im open to any advice, insight or ideas about how to improve my Fusion. Im mechanically inclined to a certain extent, Im not so great with electrical (working on it)and my experience with a rattle can is pretty good thus far; so most of the work I plan on doing will be performed by yours truly. I look forward to learning as much as possible, Thanks
  21. I have the rims from a 2007 SEL model Ford Fusion for sale. These rims will fit any Fusion between 2006 -2009. They are 17X 7 1/2. Very sporty looking. There are some minor scratches from mounting and installing the wheels. I am asking $350 o.b.o for the complete set. I can send you pictures of the rims if you are interested. I am located in central Illinois right off interstate 55 or we can arrange to ship them. Please feel free to contact me at my email. selca32@gmail.com

  23. So I've got a 2008 SEL and my "L" fell off my trunk and is now lost to the harsh Alaskan world. Does anyone know where I can find a new set of decals to put on there? I'm not ready to debadge because I might be selling the car in a year or so and I don't want to decrease the value any. But any advice would be helpful, thanks.
  24. Hi, guys, I'd appreciate some advice here. I am in need of new tires on a 2008 SEL FWD. Now, I received one quote and it's rather expensive, though certainly in line with what I'm seeing as far as tire prices go. They are Pirelli P4 Four Season, price would be $159.83 apiece. Now that's a lot of money for four new tires, but they have 70K mile warranty (which is where I am now). Also was quoted $14.95 per tire for installation. Still, I would think I could go cheaper and have a nice set of tires. So any advice on what type of tires I could look at that would be cheaper, or is this the kind of price I should be expecting to pay? Thanks in advance.
