  1. I want to add a subwoofer to my 2018 ford fusion, i am going to run a 2 channel amp for the front 2 speakers (6.5 inch kenwoods) 100 RMS, then add another amp for a subwoofer. i have a line out converter to use by NVX (xlca2) similar to the audiocontrol LC2i. my question is would it be okay to tap into the rear deck subwoofers instead of tapping into the rear door speakers? my main goal is to not have to take out the factory stereo. I know the rear deck subwoofers have a amplifier to power them so i wasnt sure if they had a crossover that would mess up signal going to the loc or if it would be okay to tap into those instead of the rear doors. I was going to run 1 power wire to a distribution block to power both amps, then ground both. either the rear door/rear deck subwoofers to the LOC, then also power the loc with its own power wire from the battery or add it to a pre existing fuse. If anybody has used those rear deck subwoofers to run a amp let me know if its possible and how it turned out, if nobody knows then i will just stick with tapping the rear door speakers.
  2. I decided to fiberglass my driver and passenger door panels to house 3 speakers each.
  3. I have a 2019 Hybrid SE and the sound system is really weak. I was wondering, does the normal system push enough wattage to be able to upgrade the speakers to something better without a full deal amp and subs and whatnot? If so, what are my options? Doesnt need to be a handhold, a point in the right direction can help (i feel if i askat a car stereo shop imma get upsold like crazy when i could just replaced a couple speakers and been fine)
  4. Just bought a 12 Ford Fusion SEL with sony sync and the stereo stopped playing sound. Had to take it to the dealer after 2 car audio guys were unsuccessful to learn the Sony amp has gone out and needs to be replaced. Which they quoted $860. Any recommendations on the cheapest route to just get sound back again? And does anyone know where the DSP amp is located?
  5. Hello: My Daughter recently bought a used 2013 Fusion. She does not have any sound - although the radio turns on, a cd will play, and music from a phone via USB will show it is playing - no sound from any of these - the volume knob shows it should be loud but nothing. She has the factory stereo and we have researched and attempted: reset, unplugging the battery, and have checked all micro fuses related to the radio and speakers. Any other ideas?
  6. Last summer, I decided I wanted to put (kind of) stock trunk deck subwoofers in my 2006 Fusion SEL. I found a wiring diagram explaining where everything went and we (my dad and I) followed that wiring diagram. Instead of using stock subwoofers for the Fusion generation (2006-2009), I found two subwoofers, Sony, from a 2011 Fusion, same size as the stock ones, 6x9. I couldn't find any stock subwoofers (Audiophile) anywhere. But we used the stock amplifier from the 2006-2009 generation. Before all this, I bought a 2008 Mercury Milan Navigation unit, so it had the 8-pin connection for the amplifier on the back ready to go unlike the unit I had before. I went to a local junkyard and got the connections for the Navigation unit and connections for the actual amp. I bought, one of two, amplifiers on eBay. We followed the diagram exactly, connected the power wire to the fuse box and nothing. We're certain the subs work because we tested them beforehand. After that, I just quit because I thought it was the amplifier, so last week, I bought another one and the same thing, nothing worked. Anyone have any ideas? Could it be that we mixed subwoofers from a 2011 Fusion with an amp from a 2009 Fusion? Also, does anyone know what "Enable CUP" means on the diagram, the VIO/RED one going to the amp? I inserted the wiring diagram.
  7. I have a 2015 Ford Fusion Titanium with the Sony audio. My left rear deck speaker is blown what should i get to make sure i don’t put more power into the amp
  8. Hey guys, I have a 2010 Fusion SE, no major bells and whistles other than SYNC and I started my car this morning and noticed that the speakers were cutting out for about a second every 5 seconds like clockwork. Initially, I thought it was the station I was on but I tried all of the inputs (Phone, Bluetooth audio, AM, FM) and the same thing is happening with all of them. There is no popping sound or anything and the power seems to be working fine to the main unit. Very puzzling - even my mechanic was stumped. Has anyone ever seen this kind of issue with their fusion? It seems very strange and I really don't have hundreds of dollars to pay an electrician to test everything.
  9. I installed a 10" Rockford-Fosgate sub with an 1100W Boss amp in my 2015 Fusion SE. I want to upgrade the door speakers, but there are so many choices. Any suggestions as to the best speakers for the money? Willing to spend $200 to upgrade. Walmart Online has many brands of sets if 4 speakers, but considering I am a musician and audiophile, I am fairly picky about sound. I like to hear AND feel the music. If I listen to Van Halen, I want to feel the speakers hit me, but not blow my eardrums out.
  10. Okay, I need help once again! I keep putting off fixing my subwoofers because I just give up, they're just sitting there in the car deck doing nothing. I have a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL. I've ran all the proper wires from the radio and the power wire from the fuse box (which does have power, we checked) according to the wiring diagram. I did get a Ford navigation head unit last year that supports an amplifier. For my amplifier, I'm using a stock one from a 2009 Fusion (Audiophile). For subwoofers, I'm using Sony ones from a 2011 Fusion. And nothing is working for some reason, no sound at all! Do I need to get a Sony amplifier from a Fusion? I inserted the wiring diagram, if needed. I appreciate any help given!
  11. I'm very confused about how many speakers I have in my 2006 Ford Fusion SEL. I've noticed that car reviews online have said that the car comes with 6 speakers, but in my car I think I have 8. I have 1 on each door (4) then 2 tweeters on the front doors (2) and 2 in the back part, above the trunk... so my math tells me 8 speakers. Maybe tweeters aren't considered speakers. I don't know?
  12. Here is a blog post where I explain how I upgraded my speakers in my 2015 Ford Fusion SE. http://mrwizstechblog.blogspot.com/ I hope this helps if you plan to do the same.
  13. Hello all. I have a 2009 mercury milan Premier with 8 speakers and a factory amp. I have replaced the stock HU with an aftermarket one Pioneer AVH4100NEX, i have also replaced the two rear deck 6x9 speakers with pioneer ones. I've added a Pioneer amp and Sub, everything works great however, i no longer have control of the factory amp so i am installing another one, nothing big, just something to control the 6x9's in the deck. I want to retain the factory wire harness that goes to that amp but don't know what wire does what. Anything i see on the internet as far as wire diagrams go does not include the diagram going to the factory amp. I know which plug is for the speaker out put and which is the power, and i have a vague idea which wire is the accessory wire for the factory amp. Anyone have any ideas where i can get the correct diagram from? Or if you have one atleast let me know which wire is which before i blow something other than a fuse. Thanks.
  14. Hi All- I have a 2016 SE with the tech package, and I am looking to upgrade all of the speakers. Here is what I have ordered so far... Front: Infinity Reference 6500CX Component (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007SNMQDQ?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_RUD7wbZH8MTNA&tag=ds0233-20) Rear: Infinity REF-6502ix Coaxial (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00803LE2W?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_PTD7wb6A01FC4&tag=ds0233-20) Amp: Kicker CXA300.4 (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_107703_Kicker-CXA300.4-43CXA3004.html) Are there rear deck speakers in my Fusion with the tech package? If so, what size are they? I think the Infinity speakers paired with the amp will work well, I have considered exchanging them for Infinity Kappas, and a better amp; however, I think I will stick with what I ordered.
  15. As the topic states, some of my speakers in my Titanium '14 have decided that it was time to go, unfortunately. From what I can tell right now, only the small speakers by the door handles are blown(I was debating getting them replaced but now I have little choice). So I'll need help figuring out the right sizes for the speakers in the car, preferably all of them. And would it be a good idea to get a speaker from something like Polk. Thanks I'm advance all.
  16. Hi All, My rear deck 6x9 sub speakers are blown and I just want to replace them without upgrading the amp. Does anyone have experience with this? Are they in fact 2 Ohm sub speakers? Would I be wasting my time with buying a 3-way speaker and dropping them in? If so, can anyone suggest a simple sub replacement? Many Thanks in advance. KB Reply from akirby (for some reason I don't have permission to reply to topics in this sub forum. Go figure....) I replaced mine with either pioneer or kenwoods with good bass response. It was several years ago so I'm not quite sure. You can find 6x9 drivers online but they're rare.
  17. I have a 2010 SE, with the 6 speaker sound system. The rear deck already has the cutouts necessary to install a pair of 6x9s, all I would have to do is cut insulation. I was wondering, has anybody already attempted this install? If so, how should the hookup and wiring be done?

    Speaker size

I recently purchased a 2006 Mercury Milan Premier which has the 6 speaker (technically 8 including the tweeters on pillars). My issue is trying to find out the exact size of the rear deck speakers. Crutchfield says 6x9's will not fit but when I measure from upside down in the trunk, it suggest that's the size. Amazon says 6x9's will fit. Crutchfield also states 6x8/5x7's will not fit rear deck. So my question has anybody replaced those speakers and what size are they. My intention is to replace with Infinty's Reference 6832cf on rear doors and component Infinity Kappa 680.9cs for the front. Infinity Reference 9632cf 6x9's is what I wanted to put in the rear deck
