I have a 2012 fusion sel with the sync audio and Sony package. The sync touch screen displays fail safe mode. Is there anything I should do before I take it to a dealership?

I have a 2013 Fusion Se that has the basic radio system in it. I'm pretty sure that it is the six speaker system, two in each front door and one in each back door. I am interested in upgrading to a touchscreen and adding a backup camera. I would like for it to work with the steering wheel controls as well as the Ford Sync voice command. I would like to have the ambient lighting feature that the 2015 taurus has. I can live without it having navigation capabilities. Does anybody have experience making this switch? I'm interested to know which touchscreen radios would offer these features and which ones are the more reliable systems? I don't know what comes stock in the fusions other than that they are Sony, but I suspect there are better and more affordable options. Any information on this would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance for anyones help on this. Had an accident while using my 2012 Fusion Sport as a makeshift pickup truck and cracked the 7" touchscreen panel. The display screen is fine. I removed the display "box" for lack of a better description, took the box apart and removed the cracked touchscreen panel. It was pretty easy to do. Put the box without the display touchscreen back in the car and it works fine. However, I have no more touch controls until I find the part. I know that this is a 3rd party device for Ford, and I have not yet asked my dealer if I can even buy the part. I would bet Ford is going to want to sell me the entire box, which is not going to happen. I can control everything without the touchscreen if needed. I have attached a picture of the back of the display box, as well as as the touchscreen film/glass component that I need to get replaced. The part number on the ribbon is X120410A (Could be X12041UA, I cannot tell) I have also scanned the bar codes on the box and cannot get any relevant information. (like mfg) This is a VERY late model year 2012 Fusion Sport with every option except electric start. It was ordered in April 2012 and not delivered until August 2012. It has 42,000 miles. Does anyone know what the most cost effective way is to get this part? Anyone know who makes these displays? Or am I at the mercy of the dealer? Thanks again. JDM2010
