  1. Hi all. I just joined this forum having just bought my a 2017 Ford Fusion 2.0L Titanium with only 3,967 miles and is virtually new other than being 2 years old. It's still on warranty of course. I have 3 questions. Can someone give me a hand with these? I'm loving this car. It's my first "modern" featured car so I am drinking water through a fire hose to get as educated as possible to enjoy as many of Ford's features as possible. 1. I want to do an oil change because the previous original owner only did one oil change and had the dealership use regular 5W 30, not a blended synth as specified in the manual. Is there any problem using a blended synthetic oil now after having regular non blended synthetic oil in there? 2. Regarding my warranty, Ford national told me that I had to do all service while under warranty performed by official Ford dealers. Not doing this will void some if not all of my warranty whether I do the oil change myself or the local gas station next door. Is Ford really that strict? An oil change at Ford is over $90, my gas station charges around $50. If they are that strict, it's obviously not worth losing your warranty just to save $40+ dollars. Right? 3. I haven't been able to turn of the driving assist lane centering feature where the steering wheel vibrates if you wander too close to the next lane over, or purposefully change lanes and don't use your turn signal so they car doesn't know if you're tired or what. How do you turn this feature completely off? Thanks to everyone. I look forward to joining you and the Ford family. Best Regards, Steven
  2. So, just a big ass PSA here.. The water pumps on our engines (Sport = 3.5L) are behind the front engine / timing cover and the pump is driven by the timing chain. My pump seal failed, dumped coolant into the engine pan, circulated and mixed with oil, engine is toast. Dealer estimate $8800 for reman'ed engine and installation. And oh yeah, I still owe almost that much on it.. 3rd party Warranty company (Ownershield) is not honoring the warranty because the language of the contract prohibits me from doing my own oil changes, even though I was an ASE certified Master Tech. FWIW, I let the certs expire years ago because my employer at the time would not pay me a penny more for them or even reimburse the cost of the test. So, have someone else do your services if necessary to maintain your warranty coverages.
  3. Found this useful site by accident. Technical Service Bulletins of the 2017 Ford Fusion There have been 49 technical service bulletins issued for the 2017 Ford Fusion
  4. I have a 2013 fusion that I purchased as a Certified Pre-owned vehicle about a month ago with 15,000 miles on it. Since I purchased the vehicle I have taken it to my local ford dealer 5 times becasue of a rattle in the speakers/doors. the result of each visit was: 1. after i picked it up and noticed nothing was fixed i called them and they said that they couldnt find anything wrong. so I scheduled visit #2. 2. I sat in the car with the tech and they said they heard the noise so after inspection they ordered a new speaker and told me to bring it back the next day. 3. they instaled the speaker and returned the car to me claiming it was fixed but it wasnt. 3. they replaced a trim piece on the drivers door and again claimed it was fixed when it wasnt. 4. they repaced the same trim piece on the other 3 doors and yet again claimed it was fixed when it wasnt. 5. they took the door pannels off and told me they thought something had gotten between the speaker and the door pannel on the drivers side and yet again returned the car to me unfixed. what could the problem be? the dealer says they cannot find anything abnormal but the rattle is terrible and very anoying. has anyone had experience with this issue? is there anything else i need to tell the dealer to check?
  5. I bought a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium on 07/31/14. After 3 weeks I took the car back to the deal with the following observations: 1. My driver seat bottom cushion moves while driving 2. The headlights do not turn on for 30 seconds to 1 minute going into a tunnel and the headlights do not turn on for an extended period of time when the automatic wipers turn on 3. My mileage was significantly less than my 2010 Fusion Hybrid For issue 1, I have had the following cases opened and closed by Ford with "no trouble found": CAS-6032594-W7M2R9, cas-6042514, CAS6316899. The dealership has had 3 people observe the issue reported. I find this interesting since the dealer was instructed by the Ford Tech line to remove the seat and "retention" it and re-install it. For has stated that even though the car is under new car warranty no replacement will be done and does not acknowledge the issue. Is anyone else having this issue? For Issue 2, reported in case CAS-6032594-W7M2R9, Ford said that they changed the design and no modifications to the sentinel can be made. I find this interesting since many States now require headlights to be turned on when the wipers come on. My 2010 Fusion Hybrid worked flawlessly however my 2014 Fusion Hybrid with automatic wipers has a 2-5 minute delay before the headlights come on when the automatic wipers come on. Is anyone else having this issue? For issue 3, apparently my brakes had been rubbing since I bought the car. The dealer had to turn the rotors with less than 8K miles on the car. Nobody at the dealer or Ford that I have talk to has ever heard of this occurring before and I had 73K on my 2010 Fusion Hybrid with no brake work. The car is starting to shake again and it has been less than one month since this service was done. Is anyone else having this issue? I have had numerous calls with the Customer Service and Customer Service Escallation line personnel all the way up to the regional operations manager of the region I fall into. There were many promised calls that were never returned. There were many promises made that were never kept or followed through on and on the recorded line i was told, "It sounds like you don't like your car so why don't you trade it in and I'll make sure you get Ford family member pricing." Has anyone else been told anything like this in their dealings with the Customer Service or Customer Service Escallation lines? As a side note, I have not received my second Safety recall on the car. I would be interesting in other 2014 Fusion, Fusion Hybrid or Fusion Energi owners comments to see if they have also experienced any of these issues.
  6. Order banks are now open. I'm looking for information for the future. I plan to have a 2013 Fusion Hybrid and am interested in how much dealers discount the Ford Extended Warranty Agreements, if at all. Are there any FOrum sponsors who offer great deals? Thanks in advance for any advice.
