  1. So the actuator door doesnt move when pressing the buttons on the panel. The light on the panel jumps, the door never switches from defrost (top), dash, or feet (bottom). Its just stuck in the dash postions. I was looking around and found this thread:
  2. 2007 fusion sel 4 cylinder w/ 281k miles. 90% of the time when I start my car, the thermostat/climate controls are turned off instead of being at the settings I used last. I’ve googled this issue a dozen times and it’s always pages of other issues with thermostats. Everything works fine when I turn it on. My car just doesn’t “remember” and has it off upon start up. Recently replaced the blower motor and resistor for other reasons. Issue still there
  3. i have a 2006 ford fusion se 2.3l. the air conditioning is giving me fits. when you turn the ac on the compressor will not start unless you jump power from the battery to the positive terminal on the compressor. you do not have to leave the jumper on, just long enough for the clutch to kick in. the compressor will then run and act fine until the car is turned off and restarted, at which point you have to repeat the process again. the compress has been replaced along with the evaporator temperature sensor under the dash as i knew these were an issue on these cars. i have traced down all the wiring and checked for breaks in the wire. i have tested and replaced the ac compressor clutch relay. the ac pressures are within normal operating range on the high and low pressure sides. i had a mechanic put a computer on the car and there are no codes related to the AC. at this point i am stumped. any input would be appreciated. thanks, don
  4. Heat and ac defrost work fine all zones when I accelerate from a stop sounds like a golf or ping pong ball in such/dash same when I turn. If I slow down abruptly sounds like a vent door slamming. ?????driving me nuts
  5. Hi my 2010 mercury Milan isn’t blowing any air at all, I just bought a new AC Blower and that didn’t do anything then I replaced the pig tail wire up to it because it the cap looked like it got to hot and still am getting nothing. It used to work on and off it I would kick under that dash but nothing seems to be working with it now. There’s a loud winding up sound coming from the engine bay everything I turn on my climate control. All the fuses are good and I’m lost what to do or check next. Any help would be appreciated
  6. As long as I'm driving my ac works fine. At idle and of course on hot days it blows hot. I read that it might be a condenser fan sensor. Does anyone have experience with this?
  7. Hello, all just got back from the shop and it was confirmed that I have a bad blend door. I have no idea where it’s located on my 2016 Ford Fusion SE. What tools do I need, And has anyone here replaced one before? How hard is it? I have the part. I’m doing this myself because the shop quoted me almost $500 to do it which is ridiculous. Please help summer is here and I need AC blowing lol. Thank you!
  8. Can someome please help me in locating the blend door actuators on my fusion. The car is blowing nothing but warm to hot air on all vents. I had it diagnosed and it looks like the actuators need replacing. How many of these are there and where are the located? Someone please help.
  9. Hi, Tomorrow I'm buying the car (2006 Fusion SE 108K miles) from a friend and had a few questions, any help would be appreciated. 1) The biggest issue he can think of is that the AC comes on sometimes without him turning it on; he just toggles if on then off and it shuts off. Anyone know if this is a precursor to anything down the line? 2) I have headlights, a new battery, and sport rims (215/45/17) from my 2006 Civic EX coupe (200k miles) that I'd like to put on this car. Will the rims fit the car correctly and do the headlights have the same connection? Can I just switch batteries over? 3) Anything to look for down the line that could keep me from draining a lot of money into this car? I'm hoping this can hold me over for a couple years until I have a shorter commute. Thank you for any and all help!!!!!!!
  10. Have a brand new 2018 Fusion SE with Sync 3. Everything had been working fine with the exception of the system locking up on occasion. Turn it off and let it sit for about 5 minutes and was back in business. Having an issue now where my ac will work fine, until I plug my phone in the USB port. Then it just blows hot air! It does this every time! I’m currently at the dealership having it looked at, but wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what was the cause/solution? Going to post this in the Sync thread as well in case it belongs there...
  11. My front end hit a rather large boulder awhile back, since then AC does not work . I added AC treatment with dye, and AC refrigerant ( polymer free of course ) and it still just blows hot air . Compressor does not engage either now. Rad is fine, no coolant leaked , but are there sensors or connectors up front near the rad that would cause this ? Damage is bumper and the passengers side grill and bumper . Any ideas?
  12. I recently purchased a used 2013 Ford Fusion SE Hybrid with about 56,000 miles. I'm still learning the car. I have an issue with the AC. It seems like it is always on. It was 80 degrees outside yesterday. I have the control set on 74, but I don't have the AC on. It still seems like I feel a light, cold breeze coming out of all vents. Any thoughts? I am not the most mechanically inclined person so I may be missing something incredibly simple.
  13. My 2013 Ford Fusion is no longer blowing hot air.. air comes on but stays cold, anyone have any recommendations or an idea what the problem is? Thanks

    AC Issues

I currently have a 2013 Ford Fusion and the outside temperature reads 50°. -39 and I replaced ambient air temperature sensor today and it is still not working it could be a wiring problem? Thanks

  16. Hey all, I have a 2011 Ford Fusion SEL, 3.0 L. The car was blowing ice-cold air one evening. I parked it, and the following morning it would only blow neutral / hot air. After taking it to 2 shops we've confirmed the AC evaporator discharge temperature sensor went out. The car is a few thousand miles over the 36,000 mile factory train warranty. Has anyone experienced a scenario like this and managed to get it repaired anyways? I'm kind of annoyed that I bought a fairly new car to avoid big hassles like this, and multiple things *transmission too* start going out right after "warranty." From what I've read, it's a 5+ hour project to get this little $20-30 part replaced because it's DEEP in the dashboard. If that's the case I suppose I'll just drive around without AC for awhile and do some research and attempt to fix it myself, though I'm no car person.
  17. The max ac button is malfuntioning , do i need to replace the who ac head unit to correct this or is there something else i can do? this was caught by a shop that is charging an arm and a leg. Is this something that can be done by the normal joe?
  18. Hey all, I have a 2010 Fusion SEL that has been having some A/C issues. (fyi its full of freon) A while back my fusion stopped blowing. After posting here and doing some inspecting, i noticed that the blower motor had gone as well as the resistor. I then switched out the blower motor and the resistor and it seemed to work fine. Fast forward to about two weeks ago, and my a/c again had cut off and i was upset. After looking at the resistor i noticed that the connector/pigtail had melted. I bought a new resistor and a new pigtail for it and spliced it in. I noticed that it wasnt blowing as cold as it should. It seemed like room temperature air. Sometimes it seems to blow really cold and sometimes not at all. It blows strong, but just not as cold as i want. I dont know why sometimes it works well and sometimes it doesnt. Usually does not though. Anyway, about a day ago I noticed that the passenger side was blowing really hot air. I am not sure why. That is where I am at now. I took a look under the glove box but nothing seems to be bad. I wonder if maybe this has something to do with my splicing job or what. I am going to maybe try to resplice it but its 100 plus here in Texas and i am way too fair skinned to be out there in direct sunlight and this heat. Maybe try in a few hours. Hopefully someone has some insight and advice. Anything is appreciated.
  19. Hey all, So last year i had an issue with my ac not working. After some digging around and posts on this forum, i noticed the pins on my resistor had melted and needed to be changed. I changed the resistor (black box with the heatsink) and the blower motor as it had gone as well. It was fine for the summer and didn't really use it for the winter (was working in Canada and did not need the ac) I have since relocated to Texas, and last week the ac would cut off and on. I would remedy this by sticking my hand under there and wiggling the cables. This seemed to do the trick till about a few days ago. My wiggle trick stopped working and so i stuck my head under there to see what has going on. I was shocked to see that the resistor pigtail/connector had totally melted. I then removed the blower motor, the resistor the cut the burned pigtail off. The blower motor seemed fine and had no issues so i reinstalled that. I ordered a new connector cable and spliced it in and then ordered a new resistor and installed that. After about an hour of work in the hot Texas sun, i got it set up and the fan turned on and seemed to be blowing air This is the second day after install and i notice it does not get that cold as it did before. i have not done any inspecting yet but it doesn't get as cold as it used to. I notice it gets colder when you hit the max a/c button, but still not to the desired temperature. When you leave it on a/c with the fan high, it doesn't really get that warm. It blows cool air. I am not sure what could be the issue. My install seems to be holding up without any issue but that is all i have looked at. Any advise is greatly appreciated. If there is any other information needed, let me know and i will provide. Thanks, Raf
  20. Just fixed a couple month old problem on my 2011 SEL AWD V6. Had symptoms many others have reported, that is, random mixes of hot and cold coming out of vents despite climate control settings. First thought that perhaps blend door was broken or the blend door control module was bad, BUT, once I experienced a full range of combinations of hot and cold (switching sides, all hot, all cold etc.), I reasoned that the doors must still be moving, so it wasn't that a door was stuck, and it sounded more like a software glitch. Read the post below from JustAnswer and tried both fixes (fuse removal, BCM reset), it was the BCM reset that did the trick for me. I followed the instructions exactly, especially when I noticed the warning about removing the airbag fuse, I could just imagine fixing the HVAC problem and having one or more blown airbags to replace! Worked perfectly so far. Of course, lost all my audio settings/stations, but no big deal compared to being alternatively roasted and frozen. Love my Fusion esp. the AWD BUT Ford does seem to have more than their share of HVAC issues, of which this is just one. Passing this on in case it helps someone else with same issue... proautotech (on justanswer.com ): "Remove your hvac fuse 15 for 10 sec - reinstall fuse. Start engine "DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING FOR 3 MINUTES" Recalibration of module will accure when power is lost(fuse pulled, battery changed or died) If hvac reset did not work you have a trouble code - reset BCM There are two ways to reset your body control module Go to the GENERAL Remove BOTH battery cables (for the sake of CAUTION remove air bag fuse and wait 5 MINUTES) Hold both cables together for 1 minute - drains KAM (keep alive memory). Put everything back together Start the engine "DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING FOR 3 MINUTES" If you have no broken parts - system not default (normal operation)"
  21. Hello my friends:) can any one please tell me how to change the AC/ext temp display units from F to C?? I have a 2012 FFH with dual zone auto climate with NAV screen. thank you
  22. Passenger side of my 2010 fusion sport makes a dull rattling sound when I have the air on (doesn't matter the speed, or if its heat/AC, or where its coming from) as long as its on it makes the noise. I'm assuming something is loose, so is this something I can look into myself or should I bring it somewhere?
  23. I have a 2007 Fusion and over the last few days when the AC is on there is a smell of propane coming through the vents, when I turn the AC off the smell goes away. I have had three fusions in the last 5 years and I have never heard of this before. Does anybody have any ideas? Also when the car is off and parked in the garage you can smell it also for a short time which makes me think its something else leaking and the AC is pulling the smell into the cabin. Any ideas would be great! Joe
