  1. i have a 2006 ford fusion se 2.3l. the air conditioning is giving me fits. when you turn the ac on the compressor will not start unless you jump power from the battery to the positive terminal on the compressor. you do not have to leave the jumper on, just long enough for the clutch to kick in. the compressor will then run and act fine until the car is turned off and restarted, at which point you have to repeat the process again. the compress has been replaced along with the evaporator temperature sensor under the dash as i knew these were an issue on these cars. i have traced down all the wiring and checked for breaks in the wire. i have tested and replaced the ac compressor clutch relay. the ac pressures are within normal operating range on the high and low pressure sides. i had a mechanic put a computer on the car and there are no codes related to the AC. at this point i am stumped. any input would be appreciated. thanks, don
  2. 2016 Ford Fusion Titanium. I appear to be stumped. This problem occurred to me around a week ago. While the AC is on full blast I took temperatures with a thermometer that read that my drivers side air vents were pushing air out at about 10-15 degrees warmer than my passenger side. But when I turned the fan speed down to about the middle, the temperatures go back to being even. Through some searching I thought it would be the blend door actuator, replaced that...nothing. I really don't know what else it could be. I don't think my AC system needs a recharge because the passenger side is blowing cold air out just fine, but I might be wrong. Any help would be well received, it's been over 100 degrees where I live the past week with it just getting hotter.
  3. 2009 mercury milan auto climate. A/c is intermittent. I replaced all electrical sensors, drained and repressurized the system twice, jumped the compressor relay, it worked that way and was blowing cold.. Had it to the dealership. The dealership said low on freon and working after recharge. I drove it home, not working again. Went back to dealership next day showed the guy it wasn't working. Started to work. Drove home parked and hasn't worked since... help
  4. Hey everyone, 2009 mercury milan. It started blowing warm air suddenly, i tried to add refrigerant the system wouldn't take any and the pressure reading on the guage was high. I replaced the ac cycle switch did not fix the problem, i checked for clutch engagement and compressor function by jumping the clutch relay, it all works and blows cold air while the jumper is in place. I drained the system and refilled it with the relay jumped. It took the refrigerant and was blowing cold so I removed the jumper, still blows hot. Drained it again and replaced the txv (thermostatic expansion valve) did the same procedure as before, took all the refrigerant but it still blows hot. I've checked electrical connections, voltage, belt tension (its a new belt) everything is in working order. Help me please. Thank you have a nice day
  5. I recentley purchased a 2013 Ford Fusion SE with 68K and I now have 78K I noticed that my AC started to not cool as usual, after many days the ac system just blows warm air, Its holding freon, no leaks, but I noticed that the AC coil doesnt even engage, I pulled the fuses in the engine compartment for the AC Clutch, teh 10 amp fuse was fine, the other square plug fuse I removed and took a paperclip to override the relay, Guess What, The AC clutch spun, BUT, the ac was still blowing warm air.... Now I am confused as to what my issue may be, The trim door that switches cold to hot works fine becaus ehot is Super Hot and cold is warm, So I know its somethng with the AC, I did notice that my exterior temperature guage on my sync system always says 50F, which is the wrong temp. Could this be the issue?? At the end of the day, I dont think the compresor clutch was kicking on when I turned on my AC and it just blows Warm air.
  6. So I have a 2011 Ford Fusion SE that has been treating me well (Outside of a coolant system and power steering failure...maybe it hasn't been treating me well after all.) but now is having air conditioning issues. A few months back the air conditioning suddenly started blowing hot air but slowly worked its way back to cold air and worked fine for a few more weeks until it died completely. Interestingly, the air conditioning does work at night and early in the morning when it's not quite blazingly hot outside. I thought about buying an inexpensive can of air conditioning recharge to see if it could alleviate the problem, but even the cheap cans of those can be pricey, so I thought I'd query you guys first. The small amount of research I've done leads me to believe it could be the temperature sensor gone bad - but if that's the case would the system work at all? I assumed the sensor going bad would essentially kill the air conditioning overall. I don't believe it's the compressor since again it does work depending on the outside temperature. Any thoughts on the matter? Anything I should try myself before bringing it in for service and spending a paycheck or two on getting it fixed? Thanks guys/gals.
  7. Hi.. Today, after stopping at a red light, I started hearing this faint noise in the car..even my son asked me what it was and I couldn't tell him. The best way to describe the noise is.. "gurgling" - - I notice it only when the AC compressor kicks in. If the radio is on, the noise cannot be heard, even on low volume. So, is this something I should be concerned about? - maybe early signs of something going bad with the AC system? My car has 21K miles.
  8. I'm having an intermittent problem with my A/C in my 2014 Fusion Hybrid. It goes off an on for no reason. Then one day after driving the car for about 45 minutes, then making a one hour stop, the A/C would not work at all, and the front passenger window would also not go down. I drove it for a while, and the A/C would go off and on. I took it to the dealer, but there were no error codes, and they couldn't get the car to repeat the issue. Has anybody else had this problem?
  9. I have a 2015 with 3200 miles that I leased 3 months ago. Last week, the outside temp read -40 (I'm in Florida. No way.) and the A/C unit was turned off. (I'm in Florida. It's never off.) After playing with the touch screen and manual controls I realized it I turned it to max it would blow cold air. If I adjusted the temp or turned it to auto, it blew hot air. I called the dealership and took it in the next day. Of course by then the problem could not be duplicated and I took my car home the following day. Two days ago the A/C again turned itself off when I started the car. This time it didn't work at all: no air, hot or cold, on any setting or temperature. I drove straight to the dealership where they verified it was in fact not working. By the time they got it back to the tech, it was working again. They kept it overnight, and now, basically, I have been told by the dealership and customer service that there is nothing they can do until they can duplicate the issue. I get that they can't fix it when they don't know what's broken, but what am I supposed to do? Luckily I am a teacher and am on summer break, but my time and mileage is important too. Any suggestions on what I should do next? I already plan on taking it BACK in once it does it again and insisting that they look at it and not turn the car off, but I'm pretty frustrated Thoughts?
  10. I have a 2007 Fusion where we don't get heat or A/C unless the engine revs are above 2500 rpm's. This means no air or heat when stopped and idling. Fan works on all settings and we are getting airflow, just without heat or A/C. Auto and manual settings on controls make no difference. Went to dealership and they estimate it may cost as much as $1500 for time, parts extra, to find and fix this, according to procedures that they have from Ford. I can get heat or A/C if I put gear into neutral, and rev engine. Eventually this works, but when driving, stop at light and heat or A/C gone. Does anyone have a suggestion?
