  1. 2013 Ford Fusion SE, 109605 miles, 5/8/2020 I've been having an intermittent issue with my backup assist and power steering for the last three weeks. Approximately 95% of the time it's just fine. My power steering doesn't go out completely it just gets a little harder to turn. These two issues always happen together. As of today the power steering acted up, a warning light for the backup assist, the airbag, advance track, tire monitoring, and the controlls on or around my steering wheel (i.e. stereo, cruise, wiper and blinker) were not working. Today's occurrence happened when I went to lunch at work. I arrived to work at 9:24 am and left work at 1:03 pm for lunch, I drove about a mile. Arrived to the store at 1:07 pm started my car at 1:24 pm and that's when the issue began I got back to work at 1:30 pm and parked the car. When I parked, the airbag light turned off but the rest stayed. When I left work at 6:45 pm the issues seemed to be gone again. Lastly I have no codes nor a check engine light. I do know the BCM has been replaced and I have an aftermarket plug and play remote start installed under the dash behind the OBDII port, and a brand new battery about a week old. If I notice anything else I will add it to this. The first time this happened it was a similar scenario. Went to lunch at work, got to the store no issues, issues began when I left the store. This was only the backup assist and the power steering. Then Two days later I got up for work and when I started up the car the first time that day I had the issue with the steering and backup assist. PLEASE HELP!!! (F.Y.I. these times are exact, I have a vehicle tracking system that tells me everything)
  2. The SRS light went on last week on my 2008 Ford Fusion. It remained on whenever I drove, which suggested that there was a larger problem with my car. I ordered an OBD2 scanner (the Autel Autolink AL619) to read the SRS code. When I plugged it into my Ford, it read codes B2293-A0, B2295, B2295-E0, and B1318-A0. I know that the first three codes are about the airbags and the last code is about the battery. After reading the codes, I then turned the car off. I thought maybe that I could look the codes up in my Ford owner's manual. While the codes weren't there, I did find some instructions about what to do when the SRS light goes on. The manual suggested that I look under the driver and passenger seats to see if anything was affecting the wiring. I noticed that the padded insulation on one of the wires under the passenger seat was coming off. I moved the wiring around gently to try to fix the issue. When I turned my car back on, the SRS was no longer lit. I thought this was strange, so I plugged in my OBD scanner again. Now the scanner is returning codes B2293-A0, B2295-A0, and B1318-A0. I turned my car on and off several more times to confirm that the SRS light did not come back on. I also consistently get the same codes (B2293-A0, B2295-A0, and B1318-A0) when I plug in my scanner. I have a few questions that I would appreciate any thoughts on -- (1) Since the SRS light has gone off, do I have to worry about the airbag codes anymore? (2) If it is an issue with the wiring under the passenger seat, should I be concerned that the wiring is faulty and will not deploy the airbag if there is a crash? (3) How can I tell whether the B2293-A0 and B2295-A0 are referring to the driver airbags or the passenger airbags? I got my passenger airbags replaced last year in the recall, and I am wondering if they might still be covered by warranty. Thank you so much for your help!
  3. I have a 2010 Fusion Hybrid. Airbag warning light has come on intermittently since I bought it. Dealer replaced computer and has attempted fix of wire harness under passenger seat. Usually light is off by the time I get to dealer and they spend a day finding "nothing wrong". I suspect it is that harness when I have a right rear seat passenger but they cannot find it. Ford was no help. Advised me to take it to a dealer. Very frustrating and a clear safety issue but no one else seems concerned except me. Latest advice is to drive it directly to the dealer and not shut it off when I get there. Not much help when it is a weekend or when I am on a road trip. Anyone else had this? I always run a Vehicle Health Report at the time but the dealer says it is not helpful since it does not record specific codes.

    Seatbelt issue

I bought my Fusion Hybrid SE in April of this year. This model was equipped with the new rear seatbelts that have the airbags built in. Today, my second receptacle has broken. By receptacle, I mean where the seatbelts gets latched into. I am still waiting for my first one to be fixed after 6 weeks. They say the part is on backorder. Is this because other people are having similar issues? This part seems to be very cheaply made. I have owned Ford vehicles and trucks for the last 15-20 years. I have never seen anything so cheaply made. The customer service I have received on this issue from the dealer and corporate had been extremely dissatisfying to the point of I will most likely never by another Ford. Their attitude has been sorry, too bad. This is after week after week promising me the part will be in. Besides venting, I am really wondering if anyone else is having an issue with this part. When this part fails in a situation where it is being relied upon, and it will fail, Ford will be in deep water.
  5. I have a 2007 Ford Fusion SE V6 and my airbag light has been on for a long time now. I know, I should have gotten it fixed a long time ago but I just kept putting it off. I wasn't sure what could possibly be wrong with it because my sister crashed my car and ever since they repaired it the light has been on, although the airbags did not deploy in the crash because she was only going like 20 when they hit. I've recently noticed though that my front passenger belt reminder doesn't work. I double checked my manual to make sure my car had the chime reminder for both driver and passenger, and I checked that it was activated on both passengers. However, even with the chime setting turned on, the chime does not activate when a passenger in the front doesn't buckle up. I plan on taking it in on Monday, but does anyone think the airbag light and the passenger belt reminder could be a connected issue? Any quick fixes to try?
