  1. I have a 2017 se with the 11 speaker non Sony 8inch screen. I was just wondering where the factory amplifier was and if anyone had a wiring diagram for it.
  2. I want to add a subwoofer to my 2018 ford fusion, i am going to run a 2 channel amp for the front 2 speakers (6.5 inch kenwoods) 100 RMS, then add another amp for a subwoofer. i have a line out converter to use by NVX (xlca2) similar to the audiocontrol LC2i. my question is would it be okay to tap into the rear deck subwoofers instead of tapping into the rear door speakers? my main goal is to not have to take out the factory stereo. I know the rear deck subwoofers have a amplifier to power them so i wasnt sure if they had a crossover that would mess up signal going to the loc or if it would be okay to tap into those instead of the rear doors. I was going to run 1 power wire to a distribution block to power both amps, then ground both. either the rear door/rear deck subwoofers to the LOC, then also power the loc with its own power wire from the battery or add it to a pre existing fuse. If anybody has used those rear deck subwoofers to run a amp let me know if its possible and how it turned out, if nobody knows then i will just stick with tapping the rear door speakers.
  3. I have a 2016 Ford Fusion SE with SYNC. I am installing a subwoofer in the rear trunk with an amp and line output converter (LOC) mounted on an MDF board attached to the underside of the rear deck in the trunk area. My plan was to connect the rear speakers to the LOC audio inputs and the LOC line outputs to the amp, etc. At some point I must've done something and now I have no sound coming from the rear deck speakers. I removed the rear deck cover to access the top of the rear deck to drill holes to attach the amp/LOC board. I was careful not to cut any of the speaker wires. I soldered speaker wires to the rear deck speaker terminals and connected those to the LOC. At this point my only connection to the Ford Fusion was the speaker--->LOC connections (4 wires) and the ground-->LOC/Amp connection. I drove the Fusion to the store for parts and noticed the stock sound was different. I discovered there was NO sound coming from the rear deck speakers. What I've checked so far: I double-checked the solder connections (thought the wire from the terminal to the coil got disconnected - FALSE) and eventually removed the soldered wires from the speakers - no change. I measured the A/C voltage from the speaker connectors with the radio on - no noticeable voltage. I checked fuses 5 (subwoofer amp) and 26 (Sony amp) - both good. I am officially stumped. My current best guess is I somehow fried the rear amp in the cargo area on the right side. Looking for other diagnosis suggestions. Also is it valid to connect the rear speakers in parallel with the inputs of the LOC, or do I have to totally disconnect the rear speakers so the rear speaker output only feeds the LOC? LOC input impedance is 20 k ohms, which should present a negligible impedance change to the amp. Thanks in advance!
  4. Just bought a 12 Ford Fusion SEL with sony sync and the stereo stopped playing sound. Had to take it to the dealer after 2 car audio guys were unsuccessful to learn the Sony amp has gone out and needs to be replaced. Which they quoted $860. Any recommendations on the cheapest route to just get sound back again? And does anyone know where the DSP amp is located?
  5. Last summer, I decided I wanted to put (kind of) stock trunk deck subwoofers in my 2006 Fusion SEL. I found a wiring diagram explaining where everything went and we (my dad and I) followed that wiring diagram. Instead of using stock subwoofers for the Fusion generation (2006-2009), I found two subwoofers, Sony, from a 2011 Fusion, same size as the stock ones, 6x9. I couldn't find any stock subwoofers (Audiophile) anywhere. But we used the stock amplifier from the 2006-2009 generation. Before all this, I bought a 2008 Mercury Milan Navigation unit, so it had the 8-pin connection for the amplifier on the back ready to go unlike the unit I had before. I went to a local junkyard and got the connections for the Navigation unit and connections for the actual amp. I bought, one of two, amplifiers on eBay. We followed the diagram exactly, connected the power wire to the fuse box and nothing. We're certain the subs work because we tested them beforehand. After that, I just quit because I thought it was the amplifier, so last week, I bought another one and the same thing, nothing worked. Anyone have any ideas? Could it be that we mixed subwoofers from a 2011 Fusion with an amp from a 2009 Fusion? Also, does anyone know what "Enable CUP" means on the diagram, the VIO/RED one going to the amp? I inserted the wiring diagram.
  6. Hello all. I have a 2009 mercury milan Premier with 8 speakers and a factory amp. I have replaced the stock HU with an aftermarket one Pioneer AVH4100NEX, i have also replaced the two rear deck 6x9 speakers with pioneer ones. I've added a Pioneer amp and Sub, everything works great however, i no longer have control of the factory amp so i am installing another one, nothing big, just something to control the 6x9's in the deck. I want to retain the factory wire harness that goes to that amp but don't know what wire does what. Anything i see on the internet as far as wire diagrams go does not include the diagram going to the factory amp. I know which plug is for the speaker out put and which is the power, and i have a vague idea which wire is the accessory wire for the factory amp. Anyone have any ideas where i can get the correct diagram from? Or if you have one atleast let me know which wire is which before i blow something other than a fuse. Thanks.
  7. I have a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL with the 12-Speaker Sony System. I want to add a subwoofer and amplifier but want to keep the factory head unit. I know I could use a LOC and tap into the rear speaker but is there any other options? And if I was going to use a LOC how would I splice into that wiring for the speaker? Any ideas or questions are well appreciated! Thanks
  8. Last night I had a set of Focal PS 165 component speakers installed in my front doors, powered by an JL Audio XD400/4 amplifier. The Head Unit is stock as well as the rear doors. Everything sounds great, my only issue is that when I turn off the ignition the amplifier turns off, thus cutting signal to my front speakers, only the rear speakers continue to play until the door is opened. This isn't such a big deal, but I'm wondering if anybody knows a better wire to connect the remote wire to so that the amp doesn't turn off until I open the doors like the head unit does. For reference I have a 2011 Fusion SEL with Sync and 6-speaker audio (not Sony). Thanks in advance!
  9. I have a 2011 Ford Fusion SEL with Sync (no premium stereo that I know of) I just purchased not 4 days ago. I want to install my JL 1000 watt mono amp (and possibly one more as well for addional tweeters) and my 2 10in JL W7s that I took out of my last car. The obvious answer is to purchase and install an in-line converter since I definitely want to keep the full funationality of Sync. The trouble is, how do I know what wires to splice for the in-line converter? If I'm missing a post on here with a wiring diagram wiht color codes and all that can someone please point me in the right direction? I know I have a 6 speaker system, 2 tweets in corner front doors, 2x front door bottoms, and 2x back door bottoms (none in rear deck go figure, the easiest place to get to speaker wires). I prefer a non-invasive solution like the Pac Aoem-Frd24 ( http://www.pac-audio...8&CategoryID=28 ), but it's listed compatability stops at 2010 with virtually all Ford models. Has anyone had any luck with this product on a 2011 model (or newer) Ford? If not, does anyone know of a different product like this that is compatible if not? Thanks everyone - loving my Fusion so far!
  10. I purchased this wiring harness less than a month ago to give my factory non-Sony head unit a pair of RCA audio outputs for adding an aftermarket amplifier. It worked great but I've since decided to get an aftermarket head unit and no longer need this. It was very easy to install, I just removed the radio from the dash and plugged this in between the factory wiring harness and the stereo then ran a 4-channel RCA cable back to the trunk. It also includes the amplifier turn on wire so I didn't have to hunt through all the wires to find one that kept the amp on with the factory stereo after I turned off the car.The wires were long enough to zip tie it up behind the glove box to give me fairly easy access to the adjustments which I only had to do once. Here is a link to the manufacturers site: http://www.pac-audio...8&CategoryID=28 The site says it only works up to 2010 Fusions but it worked perfectly on my 2011. I just think they haven't updated the page. Here is the instruction manual: http://www.pac-audio...ions_120100.pdf This unit is Not compatible with THX or Sony audio systems. Standard Ford 4 and 6 speaker systems only. I paid $45 including shipping for this and it's almost brand new, make me an offer close to that and it's yours. You can pay by paypal or by check.
