Bought a used 2011 Fusion. If we hit the lock button, the front passenger door switch (shows as locked or unlocked) flips to the locked position, you hear something going on in the door. but the door doesn't actually lock - the alarm will go off if opened and the door ajar sensor is functioning when opened. The handle itself is a little inward - but there are no issues opening the door from either the inside or the outside. Any particulars I should look for after I pull the door apart?

I have a 2006 Ford Fusion SE, 4 door. All except the driver side door will lock with the key fob. The inside door lock switch on any door will only lock everything except the driver door. You have to lock the driver side with the key, however the fob will unlock the driver side door as well as the others. You cannot push in or pull out on the driver side door lock itself it will not work. Along with this problem the only way to open the driver side door from the inside of the car is to pull out on the door lock and the door handle the same time will open the door. Any ideas of what I can do to diagnose this problem would be helpful. I am not real knowledgeable when it comes to power door locks but I do know how to take a door apart and change different parts.

The lock on the driver side seems jammed. I can't open the door from the inside. The manual lock handle in the door will not move in either direction when you press the automatic button to lock or unlock. The other doors work. I tried the key and it also will not move. Is this the broken handle I've read about or is it something else. Thanks Ed
