  1. I have not been able to find this problem anywhere. My 2013 Fusion Titanium will intermittently show faults for blind spot and cross traffic systems. As soon as this happens, the HVAC turns off and cannot be controlled with the panel below the touch screen (where all the HVAC functions are located). The touch screen shows the HVAC is off and is greyed out. The radio also stays in the same state as it was when the faults occur but cannot be controlled by the touch panel. Volume can be changed by the steering wheel controls but not the volume nob on the panel. This is a big problem with the cold weather coming. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  2. 2013 ford fusion recently had check charging system light come on. Replaced alternator amd battery, light still on. The advance track warning came on dash, along with park brake malfunction, see manual wrench light, and power steering assist fault will show on dash occasionally while driving, and then go off again. The power steering assist does occasionally cut out. Seems as though systems are not communicating. At first showed no codes, but just got a code of P0620 - generator control circuit. Car starts and runs fine. Snapchat-1318780651.mp4
  3. 2013 Ford Fusion SE, 109605 miles, 5/8/2020 I've been having an intermittent issue with my backup assist and power steering for the last three weeks. Approximately 95% of the time it's just fine. My power steering doesn't go out completely it just gets a little harder to turn. These two issues always happen together. As of today the power steering acted up, a warning light for the backup assist, the airbag, advance track, tire monitoring, and the controlls on or around my steering wheel (i.e. stereo, cruise, wiper and blinker) were not working. Today's occurrence happened when I went to lunch at work. I arrived to work at 9:24 am and left work at 1:03 pm for lunch, I drove about a mile. Arrived to the store at 1:07 pm started my car at 1:24 pm and that's when the issue began I got back to work at 1:30 pm and parked the car. When I parked, the airbag light turned off but the rest stayed. When I left work at 6:45 pm the issues seemed to be gone again. Lastly I have no codes nor a check engine light. I do know the BCM has been replaced and I have an aftermarket plug and play remote start installed under the dash behind the OBDII port, and a brand new battery about a week old. If I notice anything else I will add it to this. The first time this happened it was a similar scenario. Went to lunch at work, got to the store no issues, issues began when I left the store. This was only the backup assist and the power steering. Then Two days later I got up for work and when I started up the car the first time that day I had the issue with the steering and backup assist. PLEASE HELP!!! (F.Y.I. these times are exact, I have a vehicle tracking system that tells me everything)
  4. I replaced my headlights last week with some HID / LED and they absolutely sucked so I wanted to go back to stock. While the HID's were still installed the drivers high beam and drivers fog light went out. I replaced the HID / LED bulbs with the factory ones and they still don't work. I have tried checking some of fuses blind because there isn't a dedicated fuse for them so I have no idea where to start. Things i have done. The bulbs are good (tested on passenger side) Driver headlight housing is good and high beam is working (tested on passenger side plug) Confirmed power is not getting supplied to the high beam at the connection to the housing Confirmed power is not getting supplied to the fog light at the connecting driver wheel well area Please help
  5. Hello all. Just stumbled upon this forum and looking for help or advice! I just recently bought a 2009 ford fusion with about 130k and solid shape. No rust, interior clean, new tires, brakes, etc. Overall a solid purchase for $2300. Just needed a new battery and bled the air out of the breaks. Now here is my question. The only thing that I cannot figure out is how to tackle the problem I have with my instrument panel. All the gauges work but I am not getting my 1. Odometer display 2. Brights indicator 3. Seatbelt light 4. Possibly check engine light (since they are next to each other) 5.Change oil light (same reason Etc. All the ones in the middle above the odometer display My turn signals work but that is all on the panel. Gauges and turn signals. I'm wondering how to go about this. Is there a fuse for the indicators on the panel or is this possibly a wire/bad soder? Any info is much appreciated. I've read if I bang on the dash the solder could reconnect but no luck, I've been looking for the fuse that controls the instrument panel but can't really find it in the manual. Thanks, Slizza
  6. 2010 Fusion SE 2.5L Hello, I'm new to the site, I've never had to post on a Forum before now but here I am because I can't find any answers on the internet. I will go into detail of all the events in case someone else has the same issue. About a month ago, I replaced my battery and made the mistake of connecting it the wrong way. My excuse is that it was dark out, oops. The terminals were only connected to the car for a split second because when I connected the car's ground wire to the positive terminal on the battery, I saw the sparks and realized I was an idiot. Repositioned the battery properly, connected the terminals and started the car. Everything was fine except the radio and some button backlighting wasn't working. I figured I was lucky. After checking all the fuses and replacing the blown ones, the radio and the backlighting work again. But then, a couple days later I was driving home and the "Service power steering now" and "Service advancetrac" warning messages popped up but the power steering still worked. UNTIL, I got home, turned the car off then turned it back on and at that point I had lost power steering. Fast forward a month of researching online and taking the car to a shop to diagnose, they said that the steering angle sensor was reading something like 2000 degrees to the left but the PCM seemed to be fine. I didn't want to pay them to do anything further so I wrote down the codes and decided to order a new steering angle sensor. However, when I finally took off the steering wheel and clock spring to replace the sensor, I found that in the space where there was supposed to be the sensor, there was an empty hole and I did not see any dangling wire behind the steering column to plug into my new sensor. Am I missing something here? Does the clockspring in the 2010 SE 2.5L contain a steering angle sensor inside it? The steering angle sensor part number: 6L2T-3F818-AC Here are the codes that came up: U0253 "Lost communication with accessory protocol interface module" U0028 "Vehicle communication Bus A" C1277 "Steering wheel angle 1 and 2 circuit malfunction" Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!
  7. Hello, I have a 2013 Fusion that will not start or has absolutely now electric power. When I jump it it will start immediately. I replaced the battery since it was original. The car then started and when I went to start again it is completely without POWER again. I checked fuse number 14 as suggested in another thread. Any other suggestions as to what the cause might be.
  8. Just picked up a '12 Fusion SEL fully loaded and now experiencing ambient lighting issues. This car was involved in minor flood issues (to the floorboards) but since has been restored. My issue that the ambient lighting system was originally only displaying a few colors and they were all different (ex. red on one light and white on another light) and this would change after pressing the button. Now, there is NO lights (cupholder or anywhere in the cabin). What could be causing the ambient lights to work sporadically and now not at all? Is this issue repairable by myself? Note: I found an "Ambient lighting control module" on eBay, which was attached to under one of the cupholders when I took apart my center console. Could this be the issue, or something with the wiring? Any suggestions much appreciated!
  9. Hi all, Brand new to this forum so please bare with me. I drive a 2010 Ford Fusion SE 4cyl./2.5L. About two weeks ago now, I was running some errands when suddenly the dash lights, A/C, and RPM's began fluctuating. I was by a Pep Boys so i thought I'd stop by to check my battery and alternator. After about an hour they told me both the alternator and battery had passed the tests. I then went to my mechanic who told me the alternator was showing some signs of needing to be replaced, so I had it replaced. Fast forward to today and I am still having the same issues, limiting myself to only drive during the day as the headlights fluctuate too much to be driving at night. My last option before taking it to Ford would be to replace the alternator connection, but wanted to see if anyone had any other ideas as to what may be the issue. If anyone has replaced the alternator connection, how difficult was it to do yourself/any advice? Frustrated in San Diego, Dave??
  10. My 2010 has 66K miles on it. Last night I used the key fob to unlock the door to drive home from work like I always do. It was 47 degrees out with some light rain. I got in the car and closed the door. The instrument panel was still illuminated when I turned the key to start the engine (normal). There was no starter activity as the car immediately had a complete electrical power outage. The instrument panel went dark. Nothing I did had any effect. No interior lights whatsoever came on when I opened the door. I popped the hood and jiggled the battery cable connections since I didn't see any corrosion and I didn't see what else I could do. I opened the driver door and was thrilled to have the interior lighting back. I turned the key and the engine started right up like it always does. There were not any warnings or fault indications on the instrument panel. Loose battery cable perhaps? The problem with that theory is that all of my radio settings remained intact. I later tightened the battery cable on the negative terminal since I needed to know that I did something to prevent a reoccurrence. What could have caused the total electrical outage?
  11. Hey guys I recently installed a HID system and last night all of a sudden my headlights turned off. Found a blown fuses for both sides. Replaced them and they blew immediately. I need help with a wiring diagram or where I should potentially look?? What could cause this? A short to ground?? I recently installed a stereo system and tapped into the stereo harness and battery for the amps. Prior to this I had installed OPT7 HID's for the headlights and fog lights. No issues with the headlights or fog lights for almost two months. I recently installed the stereo system and had it installed for about a week or so soldering the speaker connections behind the dash and ensuring each wire was wrapped tightly individually with electrical tape and then bundled together very carefully. Only thing I can think of is somehow damaged a wire while trying to feed the power wire for the amp through the firewall grommet behind and to the right of the PCM.... But I NEED a wiring diagram to trace the circuit otherwise I'm dead in the water!!!! PLEASE help as I have a graveyard shift job I start Monday that's 35 miles away! I have a 2012 fusion SE with the 2.5 56,000 miles. OPT7 HIDs LED Turn signals with resistors aftermarket speakers, amp, line out converter, subwoofer, sub amp. Edited by B18c5si, Today, 02:53 AM.
  12. I have a 2015 with 3200 miles that I leased 3 months ago. Last week, the outside temp read -40 (I'm in Florida. No way.) and the A/C unit was turned off. (I'm in Florida. It's never off.) After playing with the touch screen and manual controls I realized it I turned it to max it would blow cold air. If I adjusted the temp or turned it to auto, it blew hot air. I called the dealership and took it in the next day. Of course by then the problem could not be duplicated and I took my car home the following day. Two days ago the A/C again turned itself off when I started the car. This time it didn't work at all: no air, hot or cold, on any setting or temperature. I drove straight to the dealership where they verified it was in fact not working. By the time they got it back to the tech, it was working again. They kept it overnight, and now, basically, I have been told by the dealership and customer service that there is nothing they can do until they can duplicate the issue. I get that they can't fix it when they don't know what's broken, but what am I supposed to do? Luckily I am a teacher and am on summer break, but my time and mileage is important too. Any suggestions on what I should do next? I already plan on taking it BACK in once it does it again and insisting that they look at it and not turn the car off, but I'm pretty frustrated Thoughts?
  13. Okay, so last week the dash said to check my drivers side rear turn signal. I replaced the bulb, still nothing. In addition, when I use the passenger side turn signal, the passenger side tail light flashes instead of the blinker. I checked all my fuses, nothing. I tried swapping the passenger and driver side turn signal fixtures, still nothing. If I put te hazards on, the two front turn signals and the passenger side rear tail light blink. I ran the system check on the dash, it only says to check my left turn signal if I have it activated, otherwise it reads all okay. I'm seriously having difficulty figuring this out, any help would be appreciated.
