    Engine ticking

Help with engine tick! 2010 fusion 3.0 v6 90k miles, original motor was replaced due to previous owner running it out of oil and it spun a rod, the new motor came from a junk yard who said it had 88k miles and the motor ticks/taps that sounds like a lifter, it is louder when cold and first started and gets more faint when warm, most noticeable when under a load (backing out of drive way) and the sound goes away once revved past 2500, if revved in neutral or park it goes away after 1500rpm. It also does it at idle only when cold, when its warm the tick is sort of periodic and much quiter. I'm assuming the motor had sat for while in the junk yard but what is causing this tick? Surely its nothing like a rod bearing with only 88k mile, it is a clean motor and has no oil leaks, I've had marvel mistery oil in it for the past 500 miles and it seemed to help a little, it runs fine but does seem to have a hesitation on medium acceleration kinda feels like a miss but no engine light, anyone else experience anything similar or are these just noisy engines? I know they have hydraulic lifters/tappets.. Note I do have 5w20 conventional oil with 1 quart of mmo in it, don't know if not running synthetic will have anything to do with it or not
