  1. Hey guys, just started modding my 2017 fusion 2.0 EcoBoost. Recently got a new set of wheels and tires and now i want to make it sound better. Im thinking of changing the muffler. Any advice what would be better. Dont want something screaming loud cuz those or litreal cop magnets. Just want something louder than the stock one and shoud sound decent. Any advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.
  2. I recently straight piped my 2009 Fusion SE 2.3l. It sounds amazing but my O2 sensor is throwing codes causing it to run rich and I’ve ran into a couple problems. I’ve looked for dummy o2 sensors but I can’t find any specifically for my car. I was wondering if anyone had any experience like this.

    New Guy

New to this forum and new to my fusion. I picked up this 2011 Sport in gorgeous white after searching for an 11 or 12 sport. Looking to do some upgrades, lighting, cold air intake, etc in the near future.
  4. 2009 Ford Fusion SEL 3.0L. I’ve never done any exhaust work or muffler replacements. I just came here looking for tips or preferences on a bolted or welded on muffler.
  5. I've got a 2006 Ford Fusion with about 105,000km on it (66,000 mi) and it has a rubbing noise coming from it from when I bought it used. It's gotten quite bad now and is audible even when the car is stopped. I've had the rear catalytic converter replaced and my mechanic didn't mention anything. I know a engine mount needs to be replaced but would that be the cause of the noise? It seems once the car is warmed up the noise isn't quite as bad. Was wondering if anyone else had the same problem or if they knew where it might be coming from?
  6. Hey everyone, I was looking to go from a single exhaust to a dual exhaust. I have found some Rear Bumper Cover Filler Panel's but I was wondering if it would fit on car with no trouble. Would I just be able to slap on the dual exhaust without worrying about different screws or any attachment differences? It would purely be for aesthetic purposes as well, I won't be redoing my exhaust. Any help would be appreciated. ~ Bryson
  7. I'm noticing when my 2.0L is not fully up to operating temp, but not necessarily COLD, there is a loud exhaust note between 2,000-2,400 rpm. It's a new sound, car has 21k on it, bought it with 6k. Almost sounds like the exhaust has a hole in it. Does or has anyone else experienced this? It's quite annoying as I am a NYS Thruway commuter to and from work. I used to work for a Ford dealer but no longer have access to my OASIS account and can't look up TSBs. Also, I'm noticing all of the interior door belt moldings buzz when listening to music. THAT is annoying. I've had it to my local dealer for service and they installed a 'foam kit' to insulate the doors. That helped for a few weeks but now all of the doors are back to making their buzzing. Anyone deal with this too?
  8. My wife came home last night and claims she ran over something and put a hole in her muffler. She showed me what she thought was a puncture, BUT it seemed pretty symmetrical to be a puncture. Does the muffler on a 2012 Fusion SE have a small hole in the muffler, about the middle bottom, for condensation to escape ? Thanks, Wayne
  9. Hello, I'm just now joining the Ford/Fusion community for the first time, and have a question regarding my purchase of my first Blue Oval. I really like the car, was pleasantly surprised after the test drive - which lead me to take the plunge - and I hope to keep it for years. My question is in 2 parts: 1) I bought a used 2007 recently (120k mi, manual, 2.3L) with no warrantee, from a large Ford dealer, and 2 days after getting it home, the CEL came on, and now I need a $1,400 cat + downstream o2 sensor (code 0420; CEL came back after being wiped by AdvanceAuto and was verified by my own scan tool). I did not do a PPI with a separate mechanic (I know, I know, caveat emptor, but I thought Ford parts are cheap, if there is something I can't spot myself I'll take the $200 from the PPI and put it towards the repair), However, the stealership in question did check the car out for me before buying it, and gave me paperwork documenting a multi-point inspection, saying that everything was ok. In this paperwork there is a line that says "inspect catalytic converter" with a green check-mark next to it. Do you guys think I have any legal recourse here? Obviously I can't prove they knew about the problem, and it technically could have happened within the 20-50mi of me owning it (although this is a tiny chance). 2) Assuming I'm going to bite the bullet with the dealer fix, they said I could source my own parts to try and keep costs down. Are there any reliable places to get OEM-quality (with a CAT I would only want OEM-quality parts, so I don't go through this again in a couple years) Ford parts? Also, the dealer rep said there are actually 3 cats on the car, wtf? Should I assume they will all be going bad at some point soon, with about $1,000 repair for each one? To their credit, they agreed to "work with me" a bit on the price, however the repair would still run me over $1,000. Thanks, and any advice would be appreciated! P.S. I am using the BAFX ELM 327 OBD2 scan tool, which is AWESOME, and I recommend everyone out there get one. It's $25, syncs wirelessly to any smartphone through a free app, and has access to many CPU functions. I brought up the voltages from the upstream and downstream O2 sensors, and watched them fluctuate while the vehicle was on - which helped me verify that I thought the cat was bad before taking it to the stealership.

    performance

putting magna flow cat-back exhaust sytem, steeda cold air intake and throttle body spacer, along with the SCT Xcalibrator 3 Tuner. Does anybody out there got some real numbers for hp gain. or suggestions for different route
  11. I've noticed that under a heavy acceleration there is a smell of exhaust going into the car. This only happens when the vehicle is accelerated hard. Could there be a loose seal? Why it only happens when the car is pushed hard? Really enjoy the ride in my Sport 2012.
  12. Looking to install an exhaust system here in the next few months. Have read a lil on each want to see what is everyone's take on the two? Sound.. Performance.. Etc.
  13. Hello all, I recently performed my first upgrade on my 2009 Fusion SEL V6. I purchased Magnaflow catback kit 16675 and installed it with a few friends who have worked on their cars many times before. After installing the exhaust system, I get a nice clean sound from it, but I notice my city MPG have dropped from an average 18 to 13, and highway has dropped from 28 to 22. Any ideas? I changed my oil before the install and unhooked the battery for ~10 minutes to reset the ECU. Thanks, ~Jason
  14. Hello world, I'm new to the Fusion owners forum so bear with me...this might not be posted in the right place... I noticed today a high pitch sound, almost like your ears ringing, on my 2009 SE. On inspection, it seemed to be coming from the back, under the backseat... Called a friend and suggested it could be a fuel pump issue or something with the exhaust. I just purchased the car a week ago used with 74,000 mi on it and I have the extended warranty through FMC. Any suggestions before I bring it into the dealership? Thanks, Thorsen
