  1. Hey, first time posting, but I’ve been using the forum for a while....you guys have saved my ass a few times with your little tips! So thanks! I am walnut blasting the valves on one of my other cars and since I have the equipment I plan to do the fusion...it’s got 150,000 on her so it should be fun! I’m all good on how do you this. Removing the manifold looks simple enough...but I’m not 100% clear! I’ve even looked over a shop manual. In that manual it detailed removing the fuel rail, idler tensioner and a bunch of other parts that don’t look like I really need to touch. Has anyone got more of an insight into removal? Video? Step by step? Anything would be helpful! Thanks!
  2. First post here, having some issues with my 2014 1.5 fusion and would appreciate any help you guys could offer. I’ve had it for about 5000 miles and it’s been just fine until a few weeks ago when it developed a bad misfire when accelerating onto the highway. I stopped and could see that the whole intake manifold was trying to pull away from the block and the bolt by the alternator was loose. I tightened just that one bolt up to get it home and it was ok. It’s been driven a little bit since then and it seems like occasionally it’ll misfire bad and you can turn the car off and turn it back on again and it’s fine. I’m assuming this is related to the intake manifold being loose and I want to take it off, clean the valves, and put it all back together to make sure it’s all torqued right and doesn’t loosen up again. The problem I’m having is that I can’t get the little cooler that’s in the front of the manifold out. There’s some a/c lines in the way. Has anyone been able to get it off without removing those lines? I’ll take them off if I have to but don’t have anyway to recover the Freon so I’d have to pay to get it recharged. Any advice on taking this intake off would be very appreciated. Thanks!
  3. Hello all! I have a 2006 SE 3.0 L V6... My issues started with an odd sputter while in park. Things got worse on the way home and the check engine light came on (wouldn't go above 40, shaking, etc...). The codes read multiple misfires on 4,5,6. We were told it was probably the PCM (apparently this model is notorious for PCM issues) so we took it to a shop and after 3 months of them working on it we called and they told us there was nothing wrong with the PCM and we should come pick it up, Also, the coils were not wet or dirty and seemed to have no cracking when we checked them. After putting the PCM back on, we started it to see if anything might have changed. At this point the check engine light was no longer on but the problems were still there. We also noticed that there was a loud knocking in the left side of the intake manifold. It sounded like something was loose. We removed the intake manifold and you could hear something rattle around that my husband could barely feel with his finger. The gaskets seemed in great condition. So......... I am having problems finding any information about that specific intake manifold and/or schematics for it (to try and figure out what was rattling). We are just trying to figure things out and would appreciate any and all info to help with any of the issues. My husband says I need more help than that LOL. We are just ready to pull our hair out and if money wasn't an issues, we would just bring it to the shop. THANKS!!!!
  4. I recently replaced the spark plugs in my '07 V6 fusion and when I went to put the manifold back on I guess I used a little too much force and a bolt cracked, is there a way for me to remove the broken bolt from the upper intake manifold? I know I can drill out the bottom half of the bolt, just don't know how to get the top part out. Is it threaded in both directions?. Thanks!
