  1. hello, was just curious if this has occurred to anyone previously : I have a 2012 Ford Fusion SE and we also own a 2008 Ford Edge; when unlocking the Edge it also unlocks the Fusion, and the same for all the other key functions (unlock/lock/trunk release/panic). Has anyone else had this problem? it almost seems impossible two totally separate vehicles purchased at different times having the same unlocking programming?? also not sure if this is something I would have to pay for to get fixed? I feel like Ford should take care of this without charge??? My trunk is always left open or my car unlocked when my family leaves in the Edge. note: the Fusion's keys have no affect on the Edge. only Edge to Fusion. Purchased at different times, two factory keys per vehicle, no key changes.
  2. Today my wife used our car to drive across town and back home, she had no issues with the key fob it functioned as intended. A little while later she went back out to the car for something and the thing didn't work neither key worked wirelessly. She had to use the key in the lock and quickly start the car after opening the door so the alarm wouldn't go off, so I went and bought a new battery for the keyfob and still nothing. Searched for blown fuse but its good. I tried to reprogram the keys (8 key turn method) and neither responded immediately (I tried several times). I searched some more and read to disconnect battery, did that too for about 3 hours. I finally had results both keys worked about 3 times each then haven't worked again. Also using the key in the door isn't setting off the security thing requiring I put the key in the ignition.
  3. Hello, im new to this forum so please excuse my non-complete profile. Anyway, I just bought a used 2015 Ford Fusion SE with 31,000 miles. I have had no issues so far, but just today I put the key in the ignition turned it over and it didn't start right away. I let go for about three seconds and it started up after turning the key. It happened twice in one day, but every time I turn the car off and then start it back up it is fine in succession. I hope it's not the fuel pump or something costly. I just recently got the car on September 7th, at a certified Ford Dealer, and I'm concerned that there is something wrong already. Please someone end my madness!
  4. SHORT VERSION Is there a key hole (key cylinder) inside a 2017 Ford Fusion where I can insert a key blade? This would either start the car (old school), or allow the Start button to work without the presence of a MyKey fob.. LONG VERSION I work 60 miles from home. If I lose my fob (I lose things) I can't go home without calling Ford or a locksmith. Maybe I don't have a phone. I don't want to carry two fobs in my pocket - one as a backup (since that would be silly). Sure I could spend hundreds of dollars on a third fob, but I am cheap. My plan is to have an extra key made by a locksmith and put it in my desk drawer just in case.. I assume the key would hold some kind of anti-theft device needed to allow the vehicle to start (if that is in the Fob then we are done here I suppose). I know the key blade can open the driver door mechanically using the procedure shown in the manual. (Slide and remove the hidden cap on the rear end of the driver door handle, then insert key blade into slot from below that is exposed facing up into bottom of handle. Of course the SecuriCode keypad could have gotten me in.. just talking key blades here.. [did you know there is a key slot in the end of each door to allow you to lock each one individually should you need to do so?] Now what? I'm in my Fusion. No Fob. Key blade in hand. Is there a place to insert the key blade inside the car? I thought it was under the cup holder, but thats where the molded "key pairing" indention (called a "backup slot") is located. Sorry if a duplicated. I searched but couldn't find a post like this.
  5. Hey guys. My key fobs will not unlock the car, start the car, or open the trunk. The batteries are new and the car knows the key fobs are there because the door will unlock when I open the door and it will start when I am in the car. It seems like the sensor on the car is not working. There is usually a red light that blinks on the top of the dash near the windshield but it is no long blinking. Is there a way to reset the system or do I need to take the car in. Thanks
  6. Hello, folks. Need your help. Owner from Brazil. Yesterday at morning i was going to start My Ford Fusion Titanium 2013 and the Key fob didn't unlocked the doors by the proximity. So i tried to unlock the doors by pressing the unlock button in the Key fob, and it also didn't worked. At least, i've unlocked the doors by putting my code in the keypad on the driver's door. When i was into the car, it didn't recognized the Key fob that was in pocket. So a i've put the key fob in the backup slot and finaly i could start the vehicle. After that, i've noticed that this problem was happening with both key fobs. They weren’t working and the car was not recognizing them, until they weren’t put in the backup slot. So I changed the batteries of one of the key fobs and the problem was still there. Obviously, the remote start system doesn't work also. Of course, the car is out of warranty by less than a month with 35.000 miles. I've read some topics in the forum, but didn't find anything like this. Could you help with my issue? By the way, last week the my car has also noticed that the pressure monitor system was in failure. About this, I called the dealer and they stated that probably one of the tire sensors is bad, but i think that it’s a problem with the receiving device (i don’t know the thecnical name of this, neither that it exists, haha). I guess the problem cause is the same for both issues. Sorry for my poor english. Thanks
  7. Hi. I have a 2010 Ford Fusion with 2 original keys, I'll call A and B that work fine and 2 after market keys, I'll call C and D, that no longer work. C will operate the locks, trunk and alarm but not start the engine. When C is turned, it does nothing. D will also operate the locks, trunk and alarm but not start the engine was left in the snow and I believe it to be no longer operational. I have tried many steps to get C to start the engine and was able to get it working. Unfortunately, I did the same step with D and believe that I cancelled C, in doing so. I did the same steps with D as I did with C and D never did start the engine. This is why I don't believe it to be operational. Unfortunately, I can no longer remember what I did to get C to start the car other than some sort of "reset/clear" function and then insert A, turn to on, wait 3 seconds and remove. Insert B, turn to on wait 3 seconds and remove. Insert C turn to on wait 3 seconds, observe security light go out and then start. Now when I do these steps and get to C the security light starts flashing quickly. I found out how to "reset/clear" on a forum but can't find it any longer. Any ideas on what I need to do to "reset/clear" the programming function. I believe the issue is that there are 4 keys programmed (A-D) in the module and thinks that C is a 5th key and won't allow it to be programmed. I don't know this. it's just a theory. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
  8. The garage I park in insists on having a key to the car in case it needs to be moved (in case of emergency). I suspect a 2013 fusion titanium comes with 2 fobs (because it has the fancy push-button start feature). I'm guessing those fobs are not cheap (I'm guessing like $200+ ?) So, is there a cheap solution? Pardon my ignorance but I've never had a push-button start car. Is there a physical key inside the fob for emergencies (in case the fob battery dies)? If so, could I take the key out of one of the fobs and give it to the garage ? (I'd be ok if one of the fobs didn't have an emergency key since 85% of the time the car is driven by one driver). Would the fob operate without the emergency key inside? I suppose I could leave the fob inside the car all the time and just use the combination on the door to enter, but I suppose if a thief breaks the window, he could just press the start button - bad idea). Does the 2013 Fusion Titanium come with a valet key? If so, what's that do? If not, what does one do when they valet park the car? Sorry for all the questions but this is all so new to me. Thanks, Mike
