  1. So I have a 2017 fusion se hybrid. While I was installing a Tesla style radio the key fob started giving me issue it would intermittently work. Eventually it did stop unlocking the doors completely. This happened within an hour. I can still lock and unlock the doors with the door code. I can still Start the engine If I place the fob directly in the programing slot. The car will no longer start or go in to accessory mode with the key just in the cabin. I suspect that the rear trunk antenna is busted due to the fact that I can still start the car with programing slot antenna. I don't know if there is a third long range antenna for the key fob buttons. I know there was a 2016 having a similar problem but he didn't say if his car was a push button start. As far as I know there are some differences with the antennas and what not. I also think the trunk and the programing slot antennas are replaceable with same part number. I Just don't know if I should replace one of them or both or if threes a different part I'm over looking. I don't even know if they would show up in forscan as being faulty seeing as I don't have a check engine light on. Any advice would be help full.
  2. hello, was just curious if this has occurred to anyone previously : I have a 2012 Ford Fusion SE and we also own a 2008 Ford Edge; when unlocking the Edge it also unlocks the Fusion, and the same for all the other key functions (unlock/lock/trunk release/panic). Has anyone else had this problem? it almost seems impossible two totally separate vehicles purchased at different times having the same unlocking programming?? also not sure if this is something I would have to pay for to get fixed? I feel like Ford should take care of this without charge??? My trunk is always left open or my car unlocked when my family leaves in the Edge. note: the Fusion's keys have no affect on the Edge. only Edge to Fusion. Purchased at different times, two factory keys per vehicle, no key changes.
  3. I just joined your forum and this is my first post. My apology if this has been covered in prior topics. Without any signs of any key fob low battery issues, my Intelligent Access Key fob will no longer lock/unlock door or start my car. I have replaced batteries in the original and spare key fob and the same condition exists. I am currently starting my car by placing the key in the back up slot located in the console. My local dealership service department is baffled and so far I haven't been able to find an online explaination. Additionally, while I am not sure it is related, at the same time as key fob issue occurred, the Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) malfunction indicatior illuminated (checked Tire Pressure and they are fine). Thank you for offering any suggestions I can do before having it troubleshoot by the dealership. Sincere regards, Jim
  4. I have a 2010 ford fusion sel 2.5l. My key fob has been acting up. sometimes it works, others it doesn't. Has anyone had an issue with this happening? does anyone know where the key fob reciever is on this model or perhaps have a part number so I can look for a replacement. not sure if this is the problem, I just want to be prepared. thanks
  5. I have a 2015 Fusion and am dying to get an alternative to the silly flip style key fob. Not to mention a backup programmed transponder just in case. Has anyone found a source for the 128-bit keys or transponders, yet? Besides the Ford dealer? I haven't asked them yet because I'm sure they will tell me it can't be done....May stop by and ask them tomorrow just for kicks. My locksmith says he can't find them yet.
  6. New owner of 15 Ford Fusion. It has this huge key fob. My knee hits it. My car turned off 2x while driving. I want to just use metal key without fob. I took apart the fob and removed key. Car won't start, I Was thinking it would work if the fob was close by. I can't figure where exactly the transponder in the fob is at. I'll modify that fob as soon as I figure it out. Any ideas?
