2018 Fusion. My trunk sometimes, but not always opens when I unlock the door. So far in 2,000 miles it's done it over 40 times. I watch to make sure to only use the 5 digit code on the door B pillar keypad. I took it to the dealer, they told me they couldn't get it to do it. I then asked the service advisor what was the "correct" way to light up the keypad if it is dark and you can't see the numbers, he said to sweep your hand up and then down over the keypad, when it lights up, enter the 5 digits. It seems to have about a 2-3 second delay, enough when it's raining that you have to stand outside getting wet, waiting to see if the trunk is going to open. When it first happened, I would be sitting in the car by the time the trunk opened....then would have to get back out to close it. I've tried lots of different combinations of fob, keypad, sweep, no sweep only 5 digit...nothing seems to make a difference, it just sometimes opens the trunk and every once in awhile it will do it twice in a row. I've asked other owners, nobody seems to have this issue. I see this issue has come up with Fusions in the past, but not too often. Has anyone else experienced this? Suggestions or ideas on how to correct/troubleshoot and/or make it do it every time?

I left my key fob in my car earlier today- manually locked from inside as I was getting out. I had placed my key fob in the cup folder while gathering a few things from the passenger seat and forgot to grab it before locking door and closing car. Didn’t notice til 2 hours later when I couldn’t find my key. When I tried to unlock the door using the same code I’ve been using for 5 years, it didn’t unlock the doors. I thought maybe I had entered it incorrectly, so I waited 5 minutes and tried again- didn’t work. so I waited an hour, thinking maybe JUST MAYBE that would help. Still a no-go. I’ve never had this happen before- very frustrating! Since I couldn’t use MY CAR, I borrowed the hubby’s truck, went to the corner store for a bottle of vodka to go with my cranberry juice, fixed a nice (large) drink and started researching online.... but nothing fits the scenario I’m dealing with. A few side notes: 1 - my “other” key fob is missing ... I honestly have no clue where it is. Since I FREQUENTLY misplace my keys and cell phone, I figured it would miraculously show up someday... but the last known sighting was about 2 years ago. 2- my valet key is in the glove box. Yeah, does me no good in there, but that’s how I roll it seems. 3- A few days ago, I noticed a message on my dash saying the key fob battery was low- replace soon. Was going to have the battery replaced on Monday. That’s basically the whole situation. Can’t get in the car, key in the cup holder, no spare key or fob. I’m now on my 3rd lovely cocktail, hubby is sleeping, and I’m wondering if there is anything I can try in the morning to avoid calling a locksmith to get me in! Any and all help/ suggestions are welcome! Margaret

Hey guys I just bought myself a new 1.6L ecoboost Friday and am super excited about it! I have been working on getting SYNC setup, keypad entry and all that BS but I am having an issue....I can't find the factory keypad code so I can set my own. The manual says its on a wallet card in the glovebox...uhh mine didn't come with one. Dealer must have taken it out or something. ANYWAYS, I have also looked around other forums to the fuse box under the steering column and no bueno. Not only is hard to get your body contorted in there, but its just an open panel. No cover on it. I can't find on any other forums where the code is on a 2013 model... Any help please? Also, here's a pic of mine. Just because... ][/url]
