  1. I am new to the Ford Fusion group in terms of posting but I have used it for answers in the past. I am driving a 2011 Ford Fusion SEL. The vehicle has 103,000 miles on it. About 3 months ago I encountered stop and go traffic due to an accident on the interstate. After coming past the accident and upon accelerating the car started to vibrate / shudder / shake - whatever verb you want to use - it wasn't normal. To the extent my cell phone vibrated out of it's air vent holder. I was a mile away from an exit so I pulled off at that exit and turned off the vehicle. It should be noted when the issue started there were no dashboard lights, there was no RPM abnormalities etc. After turning the car off and waiting about 10 minutes the car started and drove normally. The issue didn't repeat for weeks and the car ran smoothly as normal. It repeated after the same thing - stop and go traffic and upon accelerating. I took the vehicle to my wonderful mechanic that has been doing all the servicing on it. At 100,000 miles Ford recommends spark plugs so they changed the spark plugs, checked the brakes, the tire balance, cleaned out some carbon deposits, and test drove the vehicle - it drove fine. Again - a couple of weeks of normal driving and then it did it slightly one further time. This time back at the mechanic who won't charge me till he knows that the problem is solved and this time they worked on the throttle body which he said was pretty dirty and did a fuel injection treatment and cleaning. Yesterday driving between 0 - 59 mph the vehicle was fine. At 60 it started shaking so I slowed up a bit. Back to 60 and the shaking started. I accelerated a bit more and at 70 on the interstate the shaking lasted for about 3 miles and then went away. Driving back home - about 30 miles - the car was fine and after that short period of vibration and shaking it was fine. My mechanic is a bit stumped and so am I. There are again no warning lights, the RPM seems normal, the vehicle shifts gears smoothly. Just trying to figure out what is going on and if someone in the forum has experienced the same thing. Any help other fusion owners can give is greatly appreciated. Many thanks !
  2. Hello everyone, I have a 2014 Ford Fusion SE 1.5L 4 Door. It has exactly 104456 miles. I have attached 3 videos below of this awful sound that is coming from the engine bay, it sounds like a pulley but im not sure where to even start. Im mechanically inclined, but these newer vehicles are like Rocket Surgery to me. I appreciate any help that any user(s) can provide to point me in the right direction. Due to COVID I am not exactly rich atm, and would like to avoid a trip to the stealership. I just purchased the chilton manual for this car as well. Or will be in the next few minutes. It has had routine oil changes and is going in next week for the steering wheel recall since mine is partly loose. The entire transmission was replaced at 42k Miles and i bought the car in 2016 at 35k on the clock. I have had the Vehicle for 4 years now and have kept up with it as much as possible. Any mechanical advice is greatly appreciated. This issue started roughly 2 weeks ago prior to this it didnt sound this way. Im due for an oil change this week as well in about 150 miles. I will provide any additional videos or photos or content to help address this issue as requested, as quickly as i can. My family relies on this second vehicle so I need to get this sorted. Again, thank you for your help. V1.MOV V2.MOV V3.MOV
  3. Hi all, I checked to see if anyone else has posted about this already but didn't find anything so I apologize of this has already been discussed. My 2019 FFH has 36K miles on it and I wanted to check/change the transmission fluid since it already has so many miles on it in such a short period of time. We bought it used with 34K and I don't know the service history of the vehicle. Has anyone changed the transmission fluid or have a guide on how to do it? The draining is pretty self explanatory and I know what fluid/quantity to use but I'm mostly concerned about finding the fillport. I looked around and couldn't find it. Thanks ahead of time.
  4. Hello everyone, I have a 2011 Ford Fusion, and it recently passed the 100k mile mark. I bought my own spark plugs, and I plan on doing the job myself. When I attempted to replace them last week, I couldn't remove the upper air gasket. I had removed all of the six screws on the gasket in the back, but I still couldn't remove the gasket. The front three were easy because they're right in front of you, but I couldn't get to the three in the back because of the gasket. If anyone knows of a video with this specific gasket design, or if anyone has done the job before on a 2010-2012 Ford Fusion 3.0L V6, please let me know. It is a different design from the 2006-2009 Ford Fusion, and the design is different from the one in the Lincoln MKZ. Thank you, Alex
  5. Hello gentlemen. I'm new in this Forum, although I have a Ford Fusion SEL 2010 for almost 2 years now. Ever since a friend of mine, who is a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast, showed me the wonderful WIS system I ask to everyone I can: does Ford have something similar? Well, I think they must have, at least to help their service crews worldwide. But, do they sell their system? Is it possible for any Ford owner to have access to that kind of information? I haven't got any good answer so far (positive or negative). For those of you that don't know the Mercedes' WIS, it stands for Workshop Information System and contains all the step-by-step instructions for any maintenance service in any Mercedes vehicle since 1985 (I guess), including test parameters when necessary (eg, expected spring deformation), tools that you'll need to perform that particular service and all fluid requirements (lubricantes and fuel). WIS Instruction Manual: https://retailfactory.mercedes-benz.com/Content/Documents/QuickUserGuide/C_QuickUserGuideWISnet/KA_wis_en_web.pdf One of the many videos showing WIS usage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5M98qMOA0kk It would be wonderful if Ford had something similar... Regards!
  6. I bought Ford fusion SE ecoboost 2015. Not sure If I should buy maintenance package. Please advice Thanks,
  7. Can someone tell me what services items are required for 100,000 mile service for a 2010 Fusion Hybrid. I've seen all sorts of conflicting information, & want to make sure what items are 'required,' 'recommended,' or otherwise 'optional.' Any help appreciated, & thanks in advance! George.
  8. I have a 2012 Fusion and only have 3000 miles on it. I've been getting different advice on when to change the transmission fluids and when to do the tune up. (years not miles) I've heard everything from 3 years to 6 years for both and it is confusing. Any advice would be appreciated.
  9. So I just got a 2015 Ford Fusion SE AWD. I have had it for about 4 weeks. Got an in dash alert saying "Steering Assist Fault Service Required". The car is completely dead, not able to start. Had to get the car towed by flat bed to the dealer yesterday. They had it all day yesterday (1/19) and still have it today (1/20). I got 2 calls regarding the car from the service area....and they have no idea what the problem is or how to fix it?? Funny thing is the main guy who runs the service department said hes never seen this problem before. The car had 1200 miles on it. This is my first Ford I have been with Volkswagen for around 15 years. Not a good start to my Ford experience! Although they are giving me a rental so I can get to work which is nice.
  10. I've read something about motorcraft spark plug and other aftermarket brand. Some said NGK, Bosch may work better on imported cars. However, for fusion, it does have a mazda engine. So would mazda 6 oem plug which is NGK works as good as if not better than motorcraft? In analogy, other maintenance stuff like oils that works on mazda engine would work the same on fusion? I'm just curious, I know I can go everything with oem.
  11. I have just gone over 100000K yes and I have a 2010 Fusion Hybrid. I do a lot of driving so far I have only had to do the works every 10K, which I have done, and change the tires for wear. I been having a hard time getting to find out what is needed on the 100000K maintenance no one seems to know what is really needed. Depending on where I look.... even in the book I get different answers. My ROI has been great on this car. Love the drive and how it handles. I have been avg over the 100000K 36 mph and I do a lot of 75 mph driving and live in Southwest Virginia.
  12. Before traveling for Christmas, I need to take my '06 V6 in for service. I'm at 89,500 miles right now. I need to do the 90k mile service (oil & filter, cabin air filter, change transmission fluid, and the inspections). However, I believe my car is beginning to need spark plugs, so I figured I might as well go ahead and have the 100k service done as well (change plugs & PCV valve and change coolant). I just called the dealer I usually take my car to for maintenance, but the guy I talked to was an idiot. I asked if he could give me an estimate of how much the 90k and 100k services would cost. His response? "Oh we'd have to look at it and see what all it needs; we don't do any of that unless it needs it." WHAT?! :chairshot: Isn't that why it's called PREVENTATIVE maintenance? Anyway, I will definitely be taking it to another dealer, but I was wondering: does anyone have an idea of what I can expect to pay? It's Christmas time and I have yet to go shopping and money is tight as it is, so I don't want to go in too deep. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Order banks are now open. I'm looking for information for the future. I plan to have a 2013 Fusion Hybrid and am interested in how much dealers discount the Ford Extended Warranty Agreements, if at all. Are there any FOrum sponsors who offer great deals? Thanks in advance for any advice.
