  1. I'm looking to upgrade the engine on my 2014 Fusion SE (currently have the 1.5L stock) and have been trying to find a suitable replacement with far better performance. As I've looked around, the 3.0L Twin Turbo Ecoboost engines in the Lincoln MKZs look like a very appealing option, especially considering the price compared to other options. Would one of these fit in my car? If so, would it massively decrease my gas mileage or would it still be manageable? If not, what are some alternatives? I'd preferably like a quieter option that still has great performance, as I'm looking to mod my car into the perfect sleeper build and I feel the volume of an engine like the 5.0 Mustang engine that went viral a while ago would ruin the subtlety I'm striving to achieve. I'm just beginning to get into car modification, so if there's a smaller change I need or should do first that'd also be great to know.
  2. I'm looking to install an aftermarket head unit in my 2012 SE without navigation. All of the dash kits I've found include the slot for the info screen. My new head unit will already display that information, so it is just a redundancy. Has anyone found a dash kit that abandons the stock info screen? Attached is a photo of what I've found available, as well as a stock bezel for the Navigation option which is what I'm hoping to find except with the regular non-nav control cutouts. I'd also be willing to do a swap for the stock Nav bezel. I know it's pretty involved and is not plug and play, I just haven't found information on everything that would actually need to be swapped. If I could find that info, I do have the skills to complete it.
  3. Howdy all, I've got a big project going on. I've got a 2010 SEL with the 3.0 V6 Duratec Engine. I'm wondering if anyone here as applied the Ground Effects package or any other such body kit to their Fusion. I've got a load of other questions as well, but I'm going to begin with the body kit most likely. Unfortunately, mine didn't come the spoiler which i will be adding soon after as well as a duck tail on my rear window.
  4. Wanting to upgrade my fusion's power. I'm wondering how much power I can get out of it WITHOUT replacing the turbo. Catback, downpipe, tuner, etc,. What upgrades can/should I make to it and what supporting modifications will I need in order to handle the new power? Without replacing the turbo what kind of HP can I expect?
  5. Hi fellow owners. I have a 2016 Fusion S with the base My Ford system with (I believe) a 4" screen and 4 speakers. My question (I'm sure has been asked a million times. I do apologize) is it possible with current Ford wiring, to switch it out my head unit for a 2013-16 My Ford Touch system? With the proper face plate of course. I have a big salvage yard in town, and I went to price a factory system, they told there are so many different combinations that I would need to know exactly what I was looking for. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone.
  6. I was wondering if anyone has any experience in installing Oracle Halo's in their factory headlights and/or fog lights. My question is geared towards the wiring aspect. Can anyone walk me through how to wire these into my factory harnesses. I am trying to avoid having to use a secondary switch to operate them. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  7. As the title says, can Navi(most importantly the screen) actually be installed into a car that didn't come with one previously. I'm asking because I don't have a Fusion yet, however I am in the market of buying one within a few months. I want to know if I can actually install it, along with a backup cam. If no then I know I need to find a car with one already installed. Thank you to anyone whom replies to help me.
  8. Does anyone know where I can find pre-made racing stripes? And I mean off-centred ones, I can find plenty that are down the centre, down the side, ect...just not the ones I want. Would I have to basically make them myself?
  9. Okay so I finally went ahead with my plans to do a dome light override modification. I've always liked getting in a car and not being blinded at night I just find it convenient. The procedure is really simple and if anyone wants to do it, the total cost for me was $6 for a switch and crimp connections and some 18 gauge wire. Pictures are self explanatory but the method is to pull of the A post cover on the passenger side and disconnect the big plug. Snip the grey/purple wire, peeling back enough tape to give you crimping room, and attach a crimp at each open end of the wire. Then you crimp two 5 foot lenghts of your new wire onto each crimp and run them up the A post and across the headliner to the map light/overhead compartment. Once that is done you can take the overhead compartment out and make your hole for your switch. I got mine at radioshack, it used a 3/4 hole and was the flushest I could find. You can install the switch anywhere you want though so don't take wire lenghts literally. I considered somewhere near the dash but didn't find anywhere I liked. Install the switch then solder on the two wire leads and then tuck in the excess before re-installing the whole unit. Then you're good to go. All lights are functional when the switch is off, ie when you turn the light on manually with its corresponding button.
