  1. Hey Fellow Fusion Owners, I am on my 4th fusion and have just purchased an APIM module with navigation for my 2018 Titanium because it didn't come with Nav and i want it. my question is when i plug this in i am aware that it is plug and play for sync and i will have navigation, my question is will i have to go into Forscan and turn something on in order for the navigation tab to show up in the right hand screen of the Instrument Cluster? If so how does one do that? if anyone knows of a good step by step guide that would be really helpful as i don't want to screw something up in Forscan as I am not to mechanically inclined.
  2. I’m looking at trying to upgrade my fusion to include gps navigation. I have Sync with MyFord touch version 3.08. Right now the top right quadrant says “Information”. What I am trying to figure out is if additional hardware is needed or if all I need is some software updates and the maps SD card.
  3. I just bought a 2011 Fusion Sport and it needs updated NAV maps disc. None on ebay. Any suggestions where to get the discs from 2018 or 2017? I don't need brand new ones if I can save money. Thanks!
  4. Last summer, I decided I wanted to put (kind of) stock trunk deck subwoofers in my 2006 Fusion SEL. I found a wiring diagram explaining where everything went and we (my dad and I) followed that wiring diagram. Instead of using stock subwoofers for the Fusion generation (2006-2009), I found two subwoofers, Sony, from a 2011 Fusion, same size as the stock ones, 6x9. I couldn't find any stock subwoofers (Audiophile) anywhere. But we used the stock amplifier from the 2006-2009 generation. Before all this, I bought a 2008 Mercury Milan Navigation unit, so it had the 8-pin connection for the amplifier on the back ready to go unlike the unit I had before. I went to a local junkyard and got the connections for the Navigation unit and connections for the actual amp. I bought, one of two, amplifiers on eBay. We followed the diagram exactly, connected the power wire to the fuse box and nothing. We're certain the subs work because we tested them beforehand. After that, I just quit because I thought it was the amplifier, so last week, I bought another one and the same thing, nothing worked. Anyone have any ideas? Could it be that we mixed subwoofers from a 2011 Fusion with an amp from a 2009 Fusion? Also, does anyone know what "Enable CUP" means on the diagram, the VIO/RED one going to the amp? I inserted the wiring diagram.
  5. I have been searching all over the internet and can't seem to find anybody that has replaced their stock stereo w/navigation with an after market stereo. As far as I can tell the only reason crutchfield doesn't have any thing for my car is because the stereo with the navigation has a different dash panel than the stereo without the navigation. So I bought the climate control buttons off of ebay and the information display. I plugged in them in and the display does not light up but the all the climate control buttons work as far as I can tell. Now the display I bought is for a 2010 to 2012 fusion and I just found a 2009 to 2010 display on ebay that I am going to try and see if it is because I have an early model 2010 as I got it right when they came out. Does any body know if the computer needs to be reprogrammed in order to get the display to work? Has anybody here replaced their factory navigation with a aftermarket stereo?
  6. Finally.. the wait is over. Waze is now available for iOS device owners on Ford SYNC 3. You'll need to update to the latest everything (see below). Waze is free. Waze data is "crowd sourced" -- people on the road report accidents, police cars, and traffic jams -- which show up on your display in a minute or two (as compared to an hour with Sirius Traffic Link). It is a fantastic application (which is why Google bought it..). Here is my report.. To get Waze to work on my Ford I had to disable Apple Carplay through the Ford SYNC 3 settings before anything would happen. Activating Waze on the phone and plugging it in opened up new menus and displays - the key one being setting your default navigation software (a menu item that appears only when Waze is detected. There were glitches, and one crash. For a while when I plugged in the USB on the phone I got the dreaded "Inserted USB is not detected" message. I soft rebooted SYNC 3 and power-cycled my phone and things straightened out. Here is a demo video- sadly done in the garage instead of on the road (not safe to drive and film), but you get the idea.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6ntZrJ1bpM Wazer since 2013 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid SYNC 3, v3.0 Build 18025 iPhone X iOS 11.2.6 Waze 4.37.0.0
  7. Tonight I noticed something new on my SYNC 3 navigation screen. Rather than just displaying roads uniformly on my SYNC 3 map, sections of the map were highlighted in black -- in all cases one side of the road or the other (or neither) was highlighted. This looks a lot like the traffic intensity you can see on Google Maps. It correlated well with normal rush hour backups in St. Louis. Did I turn something on that wasn't on before? I don't see anything in the FFH manual concerning SiriusXM Traffic other than the "incident reports". I don't think I have gotten any SYNC 3 or Navigation updates since I bought the car last December. Coincidentally I did have my car in for service 2 days ago (Oasis SSM 46544 computer update for power window 1up/down issues). Maybe I need new glasses. In any case, assuming this is reasonably up to date, I am elated.. SYNC 3, Software Version: 2.0 Build 16074_PRODUCT Navigation Maps Version: NA 1 15
  8. Ford didn't make navigation an option for the Ford Fusion in 2006 but they did in 2007 and I was wondering if I could put a 2007 Ford navigation system in my 2006 Ford Fusion SEL with no problems. I tried a 2006 Ford Five Hundred navigation radio but the quality was no good due to the Five Hundred *incorporating an external amp that drove additional bass drivers*. Any thoughts? *information given too me from another forum*
  9. I have a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL V6 that had a standard 6 CD radio when I bought it, I recently bought a used 2006 Ford Five Hundred Ford navigation system. It works but the bass just isn't as good/loud as it was before, I turned the bass up in the sounds options but not too much changed. Also my steering wheel controls no longer work for the Ford navigation system.
  10. I have 2016 Ford Fusion equipped with SYNC with My Ford Touch. My SYNC screen not recognizing the navigation SD Car and USB Port which is located in box under arm rest. The light around the USB Port is working but the system does not recognize anything attached in that box.
  11. I have a 2013 Fusion Se that has the basic radio system in it. I'm pretty sure that it is the six speaker system, two in each front door and one in each back door. I am interested in upgrading to a touchscreen and adding a backup camera. I would like for it to work with the steering wheel controls as well as the Ford Sync voice command. I would like to have the ambient lighting feature that the 2015 taurus has. I can live without it having navigation capabilities. Does anybody have experience making this switch? I'm interested to know which touchscreen radios would offer these features and which ones are the more reliable systems? I don't know what comes stock in the fusions other than that they are Sony, but I suspect there are better and more affordable options. Any information on this would be much appreciated!

  15. I have a 2010 Fusion SEL with the Sony system + navigation. I ran an update and I believe that I didn't wait long enough for it to complete. I had shut the car off after the system reboot. A bit later, I started it up again, then got the 'Reinsert USB' error that I've read about in other forums. The answer there was to remove the battery power from the car for a few minutes and re-attach the lead. I did that, and although the error went away, now I cannot add my phone as a Bluetooth device (it doesn't even appear to be working - no bluetooth icon), and when I click 'User Device' in the media settings, the system takes me back to my radio tuner - this basically means now I cannot install any updates from USB - as a matter of fact, the drive doesn't light when I plug it in. I've performed a master reset, and I've pulled the fuse for a few minutes and re-inserted. I don't know what to do now - - any ideas?

  17. I've got the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid with Navigation. I've had my phone and my wife's phone synced with the system since I bought the car a couple years ago. All of a sudden, they are no longer synced, and I can't add them again, because the buttons are grayed out. The little Bluetooth icon on the navigation screen is no longer there either. Any suggestions?
  18. Just wondering if any of you are driving a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport with in-dash navigation, and if so if you are aware of the version of the navigation software/maps update that came with the vehicle? I just purchased this car (used) and am trying to determine what differences there may be in the version of the navigation system I have versus the most recent update. Also, are there any other (more cost effective) ways to update the system/maps without having to pay the $199 via the official website?
