  1. Hi All, I just purchased a new 2016 Fusion Titanium. I have paired my iPhone 5S (ATT) and LG FlipPhone (Verizon) with the car. While I can hear hear callers just fine they all complain about about background noise coming from me. The background noise occurs with both mobile phones By playing with the car, I have found that if I turn off my A/C that background noise goes away. Later, I have discovered with the A/C on that if I adjust the center driver vent so that it is pointed down or closed that much if not all of background noise heard by callers goes away. Have others noticed this problem? What have you done to resolve? Cheers, Donald Barar
  2. I have a 2010 Ford Fusion SE that has gone 125,000 uneventful miles and is a joy to drive. I recently acquired a 2012 Ford Fusion SE with 22,000 miles as I loved the design so much. In mixed city/highway driving I am averaging 35mpg on the 2012 compared with 33mpg on the 2010, so that is a positive. One drawback is that the 2012 runs a bit constipated with different shift points when accelerating than the 2010, but for the mileage gain I can get by that. My biggest nit is the road noise. I get perceptible (and annoying) road noise on the 2012 when accelerating past 45 mph and increasing from there, I do not get this on the 2010. The only difference that I can find is that the tires are different. The 2012 has Michelin Energy's, while the quieter 2010 has Michelin Pilot's (OEM). I'm not sure what the OEM's are supposed to be on the 2012, but I suspect the Energy's given the better gas mileage. Any other thoughts out there as to why there may be more road noise on the 2012, where almost everything but the tires is identical?
  3. Hi guys, new to the forums and new owner of a year old 2013 Fusion SE 2.0. Car has 22000 Kms on it. Car runs great shifts great, no power shortage or anything. I only have one little worry with the car. When I put it in reverse, I hear a mechanical click and the car bumps just a little. If I go from reverse back do Drive, same noise happens. Now I had the car into Ford and they said it was normal operation of the vehicle. Then I asked a co worker who is very good with cars. He is also telling me this is normal. Now, I've only ever driven this fusion. Never tested others. Is this single click noise anything to even worry about? Is it normal operation of the vehicle? You 2.0 owners, do you get this as well? Some feedback would be greatly appreciated as I want to drive my car and not worry the whole time. Thanks!
  4. Alright folks, I need a little advice again. I have started hearing a noise when my engine is at idle or very low rpm coming from what I think is the power steering rack. It had occurred intermittently over the past 6 months or so but just recently became an everyday occurrence. The car is a 2007 Fusion SEL 2.3 automatic. when turning the steering wheel (to the left only) while moving slowly forward or reverse, I get a loud groan and I can feel it in the steering wheel ( sounds like the pump is trying to pump air, not fluid) when it happens the steering is still assisted, but harder than normal. If any of you have an idea what this might be, I would appreciate your input

Here is some documentation on where the rattling noise was coming from.
