  1. I am new to the Ford Fusion group in terms of posting but I have used it for answers in the past. I am driving a 2011 Ford Fusion SEL. The vehicle has 103,000 miles on it. About 3 months ago I encountered stop and go traffic due to an accident on the interstate. After coming past the accident and upon accelerating the car started to vibrate / shudder / shake - whatever verb you want to use - it wasn't normal. To the extent my cell phone vibrated out of it's air vent holder. I was a mile away from an exit so I pulled off at that exit and turned off the vehicle. It should be noted when the issue started there were no dashboard lights, there was no RPM abnormalities etc. After turning the car off and waiting about 10 minutes the car started and drove normally. The issue didn't repeat for weeks and the car ran smoothly as normal. It repeated after the same thing - stop and go traffic and upon accelerating. I took the vehicle to my wonderful mechanic that has been doing all the servicing on it. At 100,000 miles Ford recommends spark plugs so they changed the spark plugs, checked the brakes, the tire balance, cleaned out some carbon deposits, and test drove the vehicle - it drove fine. Again - a couple of weeks of normal driving and then it did it slightly one further time. This time back at the mechanic who won't charge me till he knows that the problem is solved and this time they worked on the throttle body which he said was pretty dirty and did a fuel injection treatment and cleaning. Yesterday driving between 0 - 59 mph the vehicle was fine. At 60 it started shaking so I slowed up a bit. Back to 60 and the shaking started. I accelerated a bit more and at 70 on the interstate the shaking lasted for about 3 miles and then went away. Driving back home - about 30 miles - the car was fine and after that short period of vibration and shaking it was fine. My mechanic is a bit stumped and so am I. There are again no warning lights, the RPM seems normal, the vehicle shifts gears smoothly. Just trying to figure out what is going on and if someone in the forum has experienced the same thing. Any help other fusion owners can give is greatly appreciated. Many thanks !
  2. Hello, I'm new to this forum & this problem may have been discussed ad nauseum before, but I can't seem to find it if so. The LED part of the tail lights on my 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium, the ones on the fender NOT the trunk lid, do not light up while i am driving at night. Only that very faint light in the corner is on. HOWEVER, the LEDs do light up just fine when opening & closing the doors, or when remotely locking the car. I've gone to the expense of replacing the entire tail light assembly on both sides but that didn't work. Anybody else have this problem that can offer some advice? Please?? Edit: BTW, the brake lights and turn signals work just fine.
  3. Hi, recently I bought a used 2013 Ford Fusion. And Air conditioner is not working (sometimes it starts freezing, but it not happen very often). The only issue the car has is the front temperature sensor is missing (part number is "AU5Z-12A647-B"). In the screen the temperature is -39C or 10C. So is it can cause the A/C problem? Is there any other sensor I should check? And if the problem is from temperature sensor why sometimes A/C starts work? So can I surely buy the air conditioner sensor? thanks
  4. Hello, last November I got into an accident and had to replace my left rear door, I had a shop replace the door with an OEM door I sourced from a wrecked vehicle. After it was fixed he informed me he could not get the window to roll down in the time he had it, I said I would deal with it myself. Please watch the video for more info, any help would be useful thanks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beMaDh_8...e=youtu.be
  5. I bought a 2014 Fusion Titanium in March 2014. Since October 2014 the driver seat creaks whenever I lean forward or back, accelerate or decelerate. Car has been back to the dealer 8 times and is still not fixed. I have the power heated seat. Has anyone else had this problem?
  6. Hey guys, This has been happening for about 3 weeks now. After my car runs for about ~3 minutes, this noise (video in link) will continuously happen. Any thoughts? Thanks a lot! Video: https://youtu.be/is1HffMLCk0 Recent work: new brakes, recall work on power steering, replaced coolant pump (don't know terminology). One weird thing to note is that it will temporarily stop whenever I press the gas going into a turn, but then it returns as soon as I am going straight again
  7. My 2011 fusion sport has 86,000 miles on it and the transmission is giving me issues. Some days it drives fine but most days it will shift really harsh out of first gear and the check engine light and wrench light will come on and the transmission will be locked in third gear. Sometimes it will shift fine up to sixth gear smooth as ever and then say I go up a hill and the transmission doesn't have to downshift it'll jolt a little and the wrench light will come on. Then when I come to a stop it drops harshly into third gear then it will be stuck in third until the car is turned off. But if you turn it back on it'll shift hard out of first and the light comes on and it goes straight to third. If it sits overnight I can drive it in the morning and it'll shift fine for my 5 miles to work but by lunch time I get a few miles out of town and the light comes back on. I don't know what to do at this point. The fluid has been changed twice and the problem remains. Any help or advice you guys can give me is greatly appreciated.
  8. Last summer (2012) I put 8000k HIDs in for my low beams. They worked fine until around September. The driver side light always works but the passenger side will randomly not turn on. When this happens, the ballast makes a short loud buzz and the light fails to ignite. Sometimes (rarely) the light will come on after turning the headlights on and off a couple times. Other times both lights will work perfectly. Sometimes, the light will both work and fail in the same day. I've never had the light turn off while it worked (during driving). Any one have this problem, a solution, or any ideas for this problem? Thanks
  9. Hello all, I've got some electrical issues going on (at least I think that's what it is) and I'm hoping someone can help me diagnosis the problem a little more. So my rear right passenger window will sometimes work...most of the time it won't though. Everything sounds fine when it is working and it'll go up/down fine, which leads me to believe that it's not the window motor or regulator. But here's what's throwing me off: I'll use the drivers windows switch to roll down the back window and sometimes it'll work, but then if I wait a little while (anywhere from seconds to several minutes) the window seizes to work. No noises, movement, just nothing. The only way to get it going again is to try the back window switch and hopefully it'll get it moving again. If it doesn't, then I just have to alternate switches until one of them does something... Okay, to sum things up- Is this a problem with the window switch and if it is, which switch would it likely be? OR is it something that sounds like a more involved electrical issue? I really appreciate any feedback/help!!

  11. Hey peeps, I've come across a good deal on a 2010 Fusion SEL, I think one that's a bit too good to pass up on, but I am hesitant to go through with it after all the horror stories Google seems to be able to pull up on the auto trannies in these cars. This car has 70K miles, and I am assuming it's a 2.5l i4 (but it very well could be a V6). I am test driving it tomorrow morning. I don't really care which engine it is, the 4cyl is adequate enough; to me all cars are slow anyway, I have my GSXR 750 track bike for going fast! The price is about 40% below market value, but it's never been in an accident. Of course, my gut is telling me that something could be seriously wrong with the car, and that I must be cautious. It's a private sale, company car, from a guy who's getting a new company car, and who did mostly highway mileage with it. I've attached one of the pics of the ad... where, believe it or not, you see the car at an auto-x event! I intend to get the VIN # from the seller and go to the Ford dealership to ask for a printout of all service records to see if it's been in the shop for transmission issues. What are some things I should pay careful attention to when I go drive the car tomorrow? Would you recommend that I buy a used, out-of-warranty, automatic 2010 Fusion given the track records for the transmissions? Would transmission repairs, TSBs, reflashes, etc., be paid for out of my pocket now that the car is out of warranty? I've rented a few Fusions and find them to be great cars with lots of desireable features, and I look forward to sell my 07 Civic and drive something nicer.
  12. I have a 2007 Fusion and over the last few days when the AC is on there is a smell of propane coming through the vents, when I turn the AC off the smell goes away. I have had three fusions in the last 5 years and I have never heard of this before. Does anybody have any ideas? Also when the car is off and parked in the garage you can smell it also for a short time which makes me think its something else leaking and the AC is pulling the smell into the cabin. Any ideas would be great! Joe
