  1. Add the title says I am trying to work out the three radiators at the front. A minor accident left me leaking and trying to find parts. The front most one is the auxiliary yea? And the little one on the driver side is the transmission cooler right?
  2. I’ m looking to do a flush fill on my ‘11 Fusion SE. 4 cyl. From what I’ve read is that it’s not hard to do. Any tips or help would be appreciated. I’ve never done this before & would like to do it myself versus paying a high price at the dealer.. The pic is what I’ve purchased.
  3. https://studio.youtube.com/video/6GBuvB7g8E0/edit So watch the video to understand the dilemma I'm having. So basically this, the engine temp skyrockets but ONLY when the engine has been turned off for awhile. I've taken it to my local Ford Dealer and they fixed a leaking heater hose, vacuum filled the coolant system, checked to make sure the fans turned on, checked for operation of the thermostat and so far, everything turns up good. I have basically no clue as to what is doing this. Tends to happen after some spirited driving especially driving uphill with or without the A/C on. I can go driving for a good 10 mins, stop at the store for some snacks and the temp gauge will be pegged way up there but will drop as soon as the car is started. I'll be taking it back to my local Ford Dealer for yet another inspection but does anybody have any clue what is happening. I've gotten opinions from different mechanics ranging from it's normal since the car is offf and no longer circulating coolant to "literally no clue." I'm at my wits end here.
  4. I have a 2010 Fusion, got it new, regular maintenance at Ford Dealer. 29.5K Miles. For years I've been asking about when I'll need a radiator flush and they keep telling me not to worry, 100K is what is recommended. I keep asking what about time? (Years ago I used to flush every year). Recently I spoke to a independent mechanic and he said I should have done it at 5 years - 2 years ago. What are any of you doing with low mileage and this? Any thoughts on possible increased stress / damage etc from not changing it sooner and what to look for re that? Would a current radiator flush now show any issues that would help see if there is any damage? Thinking of whether it's time to sell or keep it going longer and this will be an important aspect to my decision. TIA! Jim
  5. Hi All, I just recently purchased a 2.3L manual Fusion from some dirtbag in Dearborn for $2500. I though this was great, $2500 for a working car. However, 2 days after I bought it, the check engine light came on. I had it checked and it was "Thermostat system failure". Right before the light cam on, the heat in the cabin was mediocre at best which and I was not surprised that I had a thermostat issue. I picked up a thermostat for $30 at autozone, drained the coolant, flushed the heater core and replaced the thermostat and refilled and bled, as best as I could, all the air out of the system. After I did all this, I let it idle for a bit and the temp gauge in the car got up to 3/4. I took it for a drive and it shot straight up to H. I brought it home, checked the temperatures with an temp gun. The head was only 200ish degrees and the inlet to the radiator was 160ish. The outlet of the radiator and water bottle was ambient temperature, 50 degrees F. To me it seems that I am getting no flow through the radiator; however, this is very strange to me because the temp gauge in the car stays right at 1/2 now and never even flinches. I just took a 60 mile drive with no problem. I even checked the temperatures after and they were all within reasonable levels. Radiator inlet was 160F, head was 200F but the radiator outlet was 35F. Any thoughts?
