  1. The radio display in my 2010 Fusion is missing some data. The stereo system is the "basic" unit without the Navigation system, without the Sony Audio System, but with the SYNC System. The previous owner hit something in the front end so I think may have damaged a sensor of some sort. In the lower left of my radio display I just get 2 lines. What info should be in that space??
  2. I have a 2012 fusion sel with the sync audio and Sony package. The sync touch screen displays fail safe mode. Is there anything I should do before I take it to a dealership?
  3. I'm looking to install an aftermarket head unit in my 2012 SE without navigation. All of the dash kits I've found include the slot for the info screen. My new head unit will already display that information, so it is just a redundancy. Has anyone found a dash kit that abandons the stock info screen? Attached is a photo of what I've found available, as well as a stock bezel for the Navigation option which is what I'm hoping to find except with the regular non-nav control cutouts. I'd also be willing to do a swap for the stock Nav bezel. I know it's pretty involved and is not plug and play, I just haven't found information on everything that would actually need to be swapped. If I could find that info, I do have the skills to complete it.
  4. I decided to fiberglass my driver and passenger door panels to house 3 speakers each.
  5. Just bought a 12 Ford Fusion SEL with sony sync and the stereo stopped playing sound. Had to take it to the dealer after 2 car audio guys were unsuccessful to learn the Sony amp has gone out and needs to be replaced. Which they quoted $860. Any recommendations on the cheapest route to just get sound back again? And does anyone know where the DSP amp is located?
  6. Hey everyone, I found this site while looking to upgrade my 4' display into something more visually appealing. What are your thoughts on it? It seems to be from a pretty reputable company and they have a lot of information and answer questions immediately. Lemme know what you guys think and whether or not you think its worth it. 12.1 Tesla-Style Vertical Screen Android Navigation Radio for Ford Fusion: https://phoenixandroidradios.com/collections/tesla-style-vertical-screen/products/12-1-vertical-screen-android-navigation-radio-player-for-ford-fusion-mondeo-2013-2014-2015-ram-2gb-quad-core?variant=37446653773#Demo ~ Bryson
  7. Hello: My Daughter recently bought a used 2013 Fusion. She does not have any sound - although the radio turns on, a cd will play, and music from a phone via USB will show it is playing - no sound from any of these - the volume knob shows it should be loud but nothing. She has the factory stereo and we have researched and attempted: reset, unplugging the battery, and have checked all micro fuses related to the radio and speakers. Any other ideas?
  8. I purchased my fusion just a couple of months ago. It came to me with the radio not functioning, but after some light digging, all it turned out to be was a blown fuse. Just within this last week, I was using Bluetooth AutoPlay as I do every day, did nothing different, but for some reason "Addisen's Phone" stopped popping up on the screen, and now every time I increase or decrease the volume, it appears very quickly then disappears. I also am unable to access and sort of settings when I click Menu, wanted to perform a master reset but am unable to due to nothing popping up when buttons are clicked. There is still volume, and I am able to use the USB audio, but obviously isn't as convent as the AutoPlay is. The screen does work, displays everything else correctly such as the time, direction, or radio station. Already pulled the fuse, didn't help. Any suggestions?
  9. Greetings everyone, just registered as I have some audio questions/concerns. I have searched but haven't found anything relatable. I recently purchased a 2009 Fusion SE. Nothing about the stereo is working. I only get static on AM/FM, along with the SiriusXM preview. I don't own any cd's to test. The volume buttons and the radio seek buttons on the steering wheel work; nothing else does. My iPod plugged into the USB input detects the car (it displays the Ford logo). When I push the media or voice command button on the steering wheel, nothing happens, so I'm not able to access/play the iPod. I'm not 100% convinced that the SYNC hardware is even still in the car. I tried to activate the SiriusXM on a free trial, but we were unsuccessful. The tech support agent told me to get the radio ID and call back (we were unable to do so with the radio buttons). I removed the stereo to check for it and noticed a few things: 1 - the antenna plug appears to be broken. The factory radio should have a white nipple in the antenna plug - this nipple is actually attached to the end of my antenna cable, which is also missing the black retention sleeve. I put some duct tape around the cable to secure it in place - it worked slightly, but I still get more static than radio signal. 2. I noticed that the manufacture date on the radio is either 2005 or 2006 - it is hard to tell but I believe it predates SYNC's release. 3. The rear of the bezel has a wiring harness plugged in the back of the FUSION emblem; there are no pins in the bezel so it is not actually connected into anything, just plugged in. I have researched factory radios that are consistent with the year of my vehicle and have noticed some differences from the radio I have. Certain buttons have different labels, and they have a third plug next to the antenna plug, which mine does not. I have a sneaking suspicion that another radio had been installed, and an older replacement had been put back in when it was removed. This might also explain why Sirius was unable to activate my radio - because the original radio attached to this VIN is elsewhere. Since the current radio predates SYNC, would I be ok in just replacing it with a newer SYNC capable radio to get everything working, or is there something else I should look at first? Thanks in advance, Matt
  10. My Sirius trial has expired and I am not going to subscribe to the service. How do I get the media options for the satellite radio to no longer appear in the choices? It is frustrating to have to skip 3 useless options every time. I had thought of pulling the fuse for satellite radio, but I can't find one specifically for it. Does anyone have any ideas?
  11. Hey everyone, So I got some questions about my 2014 Fusion SE. I really want to put in an aftermarket radio in my car but I'm having an extreme amount of trouble actually finding a large touchscreen radio and a faceplate, along with wiring, to fit into my car. I currently have the small non-touch screen (4x2in or something like that) radio with the all the buttons underneath the radio. Is there any aftermarket radios I could fit into my car? I would love some guidance from anyone who knows more than me (currently a 20 year old just trying to customize my car a little). Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated. ~ Bryson
  12. I have a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL with a 2008 Fusion navigation system. How would I go about adding SiriusXM to my car?
  13. I have a 2013 Fusion Se that has the basic radio system in it. I'm pretty sure that it is the six speaker system, two in each front door and one in each back door. I am interested in upgrading to a touchscreen and adding a backup camera. I would like for it to work with the steering wheel controls as well as the Ford Sync voice command. I would like to have the ambient lighting feature that the 2015 taurus has. I can live without it having navigation capabilities. Does anybody have experience making this switch? I'm interested to know which touchscreen radios would offer these features and which ones are the more reliable systems? I don't know what comes stock in the fusions other than that they are Sony, but I suspect there are better and more affordable options. Any information on this would be much appreciated!
  14. Hello everyone, New to the forum, but been searching for a while. I have a 2015 Fusion SE with the small screen radio ( non-touchscreen ). I like the way it sounds but I want to add an amp and subwoofer. I was hoping to add it to the factory head unit. Is there a place to hook it up to behind that, or do I need to cut into rear speakers? Also looking to find where to wire the amp on/off wire so it shuts off with the car. Any help is appriciated. Thanks.
  15. I'm installing a subwoofer into my car and ran into trouble when attempting to remove the radio to splice into speaker wires. I have removed all of the trim and the two screws holding in the cover over the entire radio. I know that the cover needs to be lifted from the bottom but the cover does not pop off like it should, only the bottom half of the cover pulls away. Is there something that I am forgetting undo to remove the cover or is the cover supposed to be very difficult to remove the first time. -EDIT Found a way by just prying it off carefully hopefully will not have to take it off again
  16. Hi, I recently got a 2014 Ford Fusion S that has the 4" LCD screen. I am trying to find a good option to get SiriusXM installed on it as it did not come factory with this car. I tried a VAIS GSR unit, only to find out they don't support my version of sync. I then started looking at all of the Kenwood touch screen radios that support idatalink maestro to keep my sync functionality. However, now I am finding out that the fusion isn't even compatible with these. Has anyone else faced this issue? I want a good way to get SiriusXM installed in my car without having a 3rd party piece of equipment hanging off my dash. Any help/direction would be appreciated. This car has been one headache after another when trying to upgrade it, whether it be wheels, or the interior, it just seems to be so rigid and incompatible with what is out there today.
  17. It is a 2010 ford fusion hyrbid. I've gotten behind the radio and found the harness but I'm not sure which wires to tap into for the LOC. I have pictures of the harness if that helps at all.
  18. Hi fellow sync users, new to this site, as well as my recently bought Fusion. it is an 09 Ford Fusion SEL, It has Sync compatibility, also has the AUX and USB ports in center console. whenever i press the phone button to add a new phone it says NO PHONE. I cannot even get into the phone menu or system settings. I have pulled and replaced the SYNC fuse, as well as pulling the battery lines to reset the whole system in the car, still no luck. whenever i put an AUX cable or USB in, the radio does not detect any of those features. It only works on radio & CD function. Help please, I would like to access all of the features my "new" car has to offer. Thank you.
  19. So I told myself over and over again I wouldn't like the small dumb screen and to only get the mft. Unfortunately there was an unbeatable deal with the fusion I got and it didn't have the mft. It's driving me crazy. The forums have stuff about this everywhere. Let's make it simple let's post everything we know on this one post. To make it simple for everyone. Someone on this forum has surely put an aftermarket radio in. Let's get some links and some pics! I'm ready to get rid of the ugly stock radio
  20. Was working yesderday, dead this morning. Radio didn't come on when started (normally left on...so radio comes on when started), toay nothing. other functions work... no audio, no voice commands etc. CD will play if I eject then reinsert the disc... but volume knob doesn't light and doesn't work, power on/off (both knob and touch screen) don't work. Any ideas? Fuse? If so where? Is there a reset somewhere? Pull battery terminal perhaps? advice appreciated.
  21. I am the proud new owner of a 2012 Fusion SE 3.0 V6 FFV. Looking forward to participation in this forum. Been eyeing up these cars for a few years now and couldn't pass up the good deal on this used one. It's got 52k miles, it's black with the 17's and rides like a dream. I'm very pleased with it so far, and I've already gotten plenty of compliments from friends and family. I was seriously thinking about buying an old Lincoln LS just before I bought this, but driving them side-by-side, it's pretty obvious that this is a better car. The Fusion doesn't have quite as flat handling, but it's just as smooth and the transmission doesn't feel like it's going to drop out of the car every time it changes gears. It's also infinitely better on fuel. So glad I didn't make that mistake. I do have one minor complaint, and I bought the car without realizing this. The car was optioned without Sync. I didn't know it was possible to buy any 2012 model car without phone connectivity, but apparently I was wrong. I'd like to add a Bluetooth setup, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Is it difficult to use OEM Ford parts to add sync? I was thinking of grabbing the radio out of a wrecked one or maybe buying the right components from a dealer. Otherwise, I could just buy a kit and install a nice aftermarket unit in there. Thanks in advance for any input you guys might have.
  22. I'm having an issue with my 2010 Ford Fusion SEL. Over the past couple of months, the sound system has been randomly cutting out, sometimes for just a second and other times for extended periods. When this happens, nothing works (AM/FM, CD, Bluetooth stream). I have tried turning everything off and back on, restarting the car, and nothing works. It seems to just randomly start working again. The last time it did this, the volume came back but was very low and would not change no matter how much I turned the volume knob. After a couple of hours, it seems fine again. I'm lost. Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea what this could be?
  23. I just purchased my Ford Fusion over the weekend, and can't wait to rip the radio out already! I purchased a lifetime Sirius subscription before they merged with XM and have always relied on my Stiletto 2 to play it. I have wired both of my previous cars myself (01 Ford Mustang and 05 Pontiac Grand Prix) with this set up, and would prefer to not have my subscription anchored to car use only by switching to the OEM car radio. Has anyone attempted to do this before? Does anyone have any suggestions when pulling the radio out? I've watched YouTube videos and I'm confidant I can pull out the center console, under the steering wheel, releasing that strap, etc. Also, I'm searching for a decent place to dock it. Just need a flat surface I could place a docking circle to suction cup the dock to.
  24. I put a new battery in my 08 Ford Fusion and have had nothing but problems since. After putting in the new battery, the engine light and wrench light came on, and my car had a hard time starting. When it did start, the rpms would not move and I would push the gas and it wouldn't do anything. I read so many posts about throttle bodies and issues that cost lots of bucks.I finally found a post about turning on the car, just till all the lights came on, for 30 seconds, then start the car, and it worked. Thank Godness for that post! The wrench light went away, my car started right up, and it ran fine. However, I was left with the engine light and battery light on. They will not turn off. Also, my radio is dead. No time, no lights, dead! I'm most concerned with the engine light and battery light. Any suggestions on how to get these to turn off, or what could still be causing them to be on? I think it's crap that all this happened with just changing the battery. Very thankful I found this site, and a post to get my car running, but there is obviously still a problem, if these two lights won't go away, right? Please help!! I can live without the radio, but would welcome suggestions on getting that to work as well.
  25. Where will I find the fuse for the Radio in an 06 Fusion...No I do not have the owners manual. thanks mad
