  1. I tried to follow a couple links from google to find other posts on this topic but the links won't bring me there, and I can't find them in all the posts here. So I'm sorry this is a repeat. I recently lost my heat, heated seats, and heated steering wheel during remote start. They used to come on. They don't any more.
  2. So I have a Ford 2016 Fusion SE AWD 2.0 SE that came with the Ford remote start system. This system works like 1 out of 20-30 times, and is a pain. I took it to a dealer twice and they said it works every time for them, they don't have anything to troubleshoot. I tried it there, it didn't start, they looked and said "we saw it not start for you, but it starts every time for us". I'm tired of playing with this thing and am using the Ford procedure for remote start, so I was wondering if there are any after market alternatives that people have added that work well for them, and how much work they were to install, since Ford can't seem to help. When I try, you hear the engine try to turn over, but it fails. On the rare occasions it has worked, I get in the car and have to insert the key as expected, but this is exceptionally rare. I've tried both remote start key fobs that came with the vehicle with the same results. The dealership I bought it from has gone out of business so I can't go to them, I have to go to others in my area. I live in the North East and it would be really nice if this worked on those cold, crisp days so I can shovel my walkway while the car warms up. Thoughts? PS. I'm willing to try anything you can think of. I've already been through all the car menu options and they all seem correct. Since it works once in a while, its like it's not capable of providing ignition most of the time.
  3. With the 2019 Fusion SE, it seems that the Push to start feature is pretty much standard. Since they car can detect the presence of the key in the cab, would it be possible to enable Intelligent access entry via touching the door handles? Looking into it a bit it looks like the door handles differ on the models with the full-intelligent access package, SEL/Titanium trims. If you were to replace the door handle and find the values to change in Forscan it seems like this feature could be enabled. Anyone attempted this or perhaps have wiring pinouts for the connectors on the door handles and harness that runs through the doors? I'm wondering if the SE trim just lacks the sensor in the door handle to detect the key being nearby, and it would be awesome if we could swap the door handle, and find the valus with ForScan to make this happen. Going to compare some as built data with a simialr spec'd SEL with this feature, I suspect this Driver / Passenger Door modules might have some clues to this, but some wiring pin outs for those door handles would help to know if its just shined up door handle with a bit of chrome trim, or if its packed with some tech inside. I'd also be curious as to what differs with Remote start on the SE vs SEL/Titanium models. The MyFord Pass can start the vehicle via the onboard LTE modem, so is the hardware there to start/stop the car and also unlock and lock it. Im wondering if anyone knows if these trims run on different frequencies with the remotes, or if we just got a vehicle with remote start and just keyfobs without the butotns and maybe a value or two in Forscan to enable?
  4. Hello anyone who can help me..I got a remote start for my 2014 Ford Fusion as a Christmas present because I have no garage and wanted to heat my car up and melt ice and snow without going out in the weather so my wonderful parents bought all of us kids and my son (their grandson) a remote starter and arranged the installations at Best Buy for each of us! Well I just got mine done finally and even my key fob for the door locks works to start my car now if I hit lock and unlock back and forth. Anyway... long story short I start my car from in the house with the heater turned on to defrost the windows... go out 15 minutes later and the heat isn't on, windows are still covered with ice, but when I put the key in the ignition the heat comes on with wonderful heat !! I checked the book and if you HAVE a factory remote start you can go into settings and change this to have the heat come on before the key is inserted I believe but what am I supposed to do if it's an aftermarket remote start and I have no option for that in my settings ?? Computers on cars have ruined even the simplest functions now days. I want the heat on in my car WHEN I START IT !! Not when I get in with the key and I'm supposed to have a defrosted car already and be going !! HELP please guys. There has to be a way you can fix this so my heat comes on when the car starts even without the factory remote start !!!
  5. I bought a Ford fusion that the owner had lost all the keys and remotes for. It was 2008 with a blown engine so I got it for real cheap. The first thing I did was call a locksmith to make new keys and he did and the keys both work. After doing so the owner told me it had a factory remote start. So when I bought new remotes I bought a new remote start remote as well based on the remote start p/n that I found under the dash. Swapped the engine out and programmed the remotes the doors unlocked just fine the car fires up just fine with the keys. When in press the remote start button i just get a little red theft light on the instrument cluster. What can I do to get this working. With temperatures below zero from November to March it woul be great to get this working. Will the remote start module in the car need to be reprogrammed is it possible I got a bad remote. (I know it is sending a signal because it sets off the theft warning light). I programmed it per a instructional YouTube video and before I did it did nothing. Thanks people
  6. I have a 2014 Fusion Titanium with a remote start. I have it set to auto - under settings > remote start > Climate Control > Heater-A/C > auto. When I first bought the vehicle , that option was greyed out - after several attempts , the dealer replaced an FCIM and the setting was available. Regardless of the temperature, air conditioning is at a medium lukewarm output until I push the start button on the vehicle. When I took it to the dealer, they told me that I should be using the last settings option and remember to put the AC at 72 before I shut off the car. I escalated to the Service Manager , and even opened a case with Ford , and both indicating that this was how the functionality worked. Then this past weekend , I tried the same steps on a 2015 Escape Titanium , and the air conditioner was blasting after I started the car with the remote and before I pushed the start button. Has anyone else had this problem ? My thought is that it is a minor setting change or something. It is starting to get very warm here in Florida , I rely on this functionality during the daytime. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I just recently purchased a 2015 Ford Fusion. After looking at the Car Facts report I found that a remote start option was installed. After talking to the dealer, they said not a chance, it must not be right. When I got home I was looking through the display, I discovered a remote start option that allows me to turn it on and off and set the duration. So that got me thinking… After some online investigating, I found this part (7J-19G367-AA) near the fuse panel. With all the searching that I found, I am convinced this is the remote start module that was on the Car Facts report. My car is a keyed start with the flip key fob. It only has the Lock/Unlock/Trunk Release and Horn button. Through my digging I found that a Lock/Unlock/Lock command can be used to start the vehicle. I did try with no luck. I did also find that you can program the module by turning the key 8 times, again no luck. Does anyone out there have suggestions??
  8. Installed the module myself, had a friend (tech) at the dealer do the activation with IDS. All of the options are available on the standard message center, with one exception - Front Defrost. Any reason why just this one option would be greyed out?
  9. Like some other users here I noticed today that the Climate Control options on my 2013 Ford Fusion (mine's a hybrid, not sure if that matters) are all greyed out. I recently took the car in for one of the recalls for some sort of flash and honestly I'm not sure if that's what changed the options to grey and unavilable or not. Now that it's getting colder I noticed that when I used the remote start the seats arne't warm and the front and rear defrosters weren't on and when I tried to change the setting everything was grey From what I've read I suppose that I'll need to take it into the dealership and printing out someting that says: Remote Start options greyed out from research I have found 3 possible solutions 3 possible solutions. TSB 13-05-28 TSB 13-4-4 Or update the instrument cluster. If these don't work then the tech needs to go through the remote start enable process and recheck for the cluster enable not being set in Module Programming/Programmable Parameters on IDS There are 2 parameters that must be set, along with equipment flags. Often a tech that doesn't do lots of these will only enable one, because he doesn't expect there to be multiple. Anyone have any other suggestions? Not looking forward to yet another day without my car Thanks
  10. Remote start starts everything but the car engine. Thinking a fuse or solenoid. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas!
  11. Hi all, first post.. I have just purchased a 2011 Fusion Sport AWD and doing some research on remote starter options. I know i want a Bidirectional remote start and would prefer to stay with an OEM but i'm interested in any feedback on the availability of options out there. I plan to buy and install whatever system i go with.. fwiw, i held an ASE master auto tech cert before i let it expire years ago, so i have no doubt I can do the install, especially with the install thread posted by thefoeyouknow lastly any leads on the start system for a good price are appreciated. Thanks in advance
  12. Hi everyone! I recently went through the Ontario Ignition Interlock program as a result of a DUI. To put the interlock in, they required that I get my remote starter disabled, which the dealership did. Now that I have went through the program, and the interlock has been removed, I would like to hook my remote starter up again, however, I would like to do this myself. Can someone help? ***2010 Fusion, factory everything***
  13. 2009 Ford Fusion SE V6 The car starts normally with the key, but the factory remote start has stopped working. The remote start initializes and the instrument panel and the radio turns on and the relay inside the car clicks, and then the instrument panel turns off. The car does not start or give any number of honks.
