  1. Had this car for years, has the upgraded Sony sound system. Last year randomly the drivers side speakers started to sound slightly quieter/thinner. I’d hit a bump and it would happen, randomly would go away for awhile. It almost seemed like it happened more often when it was colder out. However, for some reason when I switched the EQ on Spotify, it stopped. I used to be able to get it to fix itself by switching to the radio, once HD radio would kick in, it would be good for awhile. It’s been months of being fine until yesterday I hit a bump and back to being a problem, but now it seems like my HD radio/Spotify EQ trick isn’t working. I can’t figure out why that would effect anything or what the problem is, but that slight difference in sound/volumn drives my absolutely nuts. anyone have this issue before or anyone have any ideas on what it is/could be? It’s driving me crazy lol
  2. Just bought a 12 Ford Fusion SEL with sony sync and the stereo stopped playing sound. Had to take it to the dealer after 2 car audio guys were unsuccessful to learn the Sony amp has gone out and needs to be replaced. Which they quoted $860. Any recommendations on the cheapest route to just get sound back again? And does anyone know where the DSP amp is located?
  3. I experienced a loss of audio on the left side of the car. I replaced the two component speakers in the front left door (woofer and tweeter) with brand new speakers and am still having the same problem. The audio installer checked his work and says all his connections are secure. The audio on the left side cuts down to about 25% of what it should be. I noticed one time that it cut in and cut out when going over a large bump in the road. I noticed several other posts in this forum relating to loss of audio on the left side, but they all specifically referenced it happening only when listening to FM radio. I listen only to music on a USB thumb drive. The vehicle is a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL with I believe the moon and tunes package (speakers are all Sony). If anyone has any information regarding this issue I would be very grateful if you shared it! Thanks!
  4. Last summer, I decided I wanted to put (kind of) stock trunk deck subwoofers in my 2006 Fusion SEL. I found a wiring diagram explaining where everything went and we (my dad and I) followed that wiring diagram. Instead of using stock subwoofers for the Fusion generation (2006-2009), I found two subwoofers, Sony, from a 2011 Fusion, same size as the stock ones, 6x9. I couldn't find any stock subwoofers (Audiophile) anywhere. But we used the stock amplifier from the 2006-2009 generation. Before all this, I bought a 2008 Mercury Milan Navigation unit, so it had the 8-pin connection for the amplifier on the back ready to go unlike the unit I had before. I went to a local junkyard and got the connections for the Navigation unit and connections for the actual amp. I bought, one of two, amplifiers on eBay. We followed the diagram exactly, connected the power wire to the fuse box and nothing. We're certain the subs work because we tested them beforehand. After that, I just quit because I thought it was the amplifier, so last week, I bought another one and the same thing, nothing worked. Anyone have any ideas? Could it be that we mixed subwoofers from a 2011 Fusion with an amp from a 2009 Fusion? Also, does anyone know what "Enable CUP" means on the diagram, the VIO/RED one going to the amp? I inserted the wiring diagram.
  5. Okay, I need help once again! I keep putting off fixing my subwoofers because I just give up, they're just sitting there in the car deck doing nothing. I have a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL. I've ran all the proper wires from the radio and the power wire from the fuse box (which does have power, we checked) according to the wiring diagram. I did get a Ford navigation head unit last year that supports an amplifier. For my amplifier, I'm using a stock one from a 2009 Fusion (Audiophile). For subwoofers, I'm using Sony ones from a 2011 Fusion. And nothing is working for some reason, no sound at all! Do I need to get a Sony amplifier from a Fusion? I inserted the wiring diagram, if needed. I appreciate any help given!
  6. I have a 2010 Fusion SEL with the Sony system + navigation. I ran an update and I believe that I didn't wait long enough for it to complete. I had shut the car off after the system reboot. A bit later, I started it up again, then got the 'Reinsert USB' error that I've read about in other forums. The answer there was to remove the battery power from the car for a few minutes and re-attach the lead. I did that, and although the error went away, now I cannot add my phone as a Bluetooth device (it doesn't even appear to be working - no bluetooth icon), and when I click 'User Device' in the media settings, the system takes me back to my radio tuner - this basically means now I cannot install any updates from USB - as a matter of fact, the drive doesn't light when I plug it in. I've performed a master reset, and I've pulled the fuse for a few minutes and re-inserted. I don't know what to do now - - any ideas?
  7. I have a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL with the 12 Sony Speaker System and I was just wondering if anyone had a wiring diagram for whole audio system in the car? I also was wondering if the system had an amplifier and if it does where is it mounted in the car? Last thing, has anyone either upgraded or modified the Sony system? Thanks
  8. I'm looking to upgrade the Sony head unit in my 2012 Fusion sel. I'm lost on what happens to the top display. I'm sure this is still required to display temp, direction and climate control functions but does disconnecting the factory unit cause this to malfunction?

    Sony Audio DSP

Is anyone having issues with the Sony audio system in the 2013 randomly resetting to Stereo when previously set to Surround mode? Lately my system has also been auto-playing from my USB drive at startup when I last used Sirius before parking.
