  1. Hello! I need help and explanation. Please tell me, I need help about the engine and about Ecoboost in general. My be you can advise me something based on experience or true. The thing is: I hit kicked down on my 1.5T Ford Fusion USA. I don't drive like that at all, but the situation required it. I drove to the point, I look in the mirror behind and saw a cloud of blue smoke and it stank of smoke for 3 min inside too. Auto after that approx. I SCREWED off and looked at the spark plugs, they had traveled 44,000 km. Rubbish... I have a video of the cylinders. Then I climbed into the cylinders with the camera and saw something that I did not understand. Apparently there is soot, an oil film. Could YOU please advise what is it? Why? How? Reasons? I have video inside cylinders, but cant download. Now i have: - Mileage: 50 000 miles (86,000 km) - fuel consumption is excellent, highway, from 6 l/100km. -- Oil consumption: 200 grams per 10,000 km. *Use Kendall 5W-20. -Service (changing oil) every 8,000 km. -Petrol: Tesco ""99 Moment"". (EU) 1. I need explanation, why it's had happened? 2. What to do? 3. Do I need clean cylinders? 4. Could it be a cylinder head gasket 5.! What engine diagnostics do I need and what should it include? -× I want to help this problem, it is possible to react earlier ×- BEST WISHES TO YOU AND YOUR ECOBOOST! ANDREW
  2. Can anyone provide the torque specs for the plugs on a 2012 2.5L? Thanks in advance.
  3. Hey, I'm quite worry about a lot of oil covering the threads and bottom of the middle two spark plugs. The other two are good. I heard that if oil on the bottom, it means mechanical issue and may need expensive repair. I replaced valve cover gasket today. After I pulled the valve cover, there was just a little oil on the top part. After I unscrew the plug, the threads and bottom was covered by oil. I think I will check them again tomorrow or after drive a while. Car runs fine. No engine light on. But I'm thinking about it. Anyone have any ideas? I'm on a tight budget, can't bring this to a mechanic. Its a 2007 fusion, 2.3l. Thanks!
  4. I've read something about motorcraft spark plug and other aftermarket brand. Some said NGK, Bosch may work better on imported cars. However, for fusion, it does have a mazda engine. So would mazda 6 oem plug which is NGK works as good as if not better than motorcraft? In analogy, other maintenance stuff like oils that works on mazda engine would work the same on fusion? I'm just curious, I know I can go everything with oem.
  5. OK please help if you can. My wife has a 2007 fusion w/ 3.0 V-6 ( 63000 miles) She gets home and 2 hrs late I take her car to go drop off movies (it was raining) The car boggs down wont even go 10 mph. I go to Auto shack to borrow their scanner. (yeh engin light came on) I got the code PO353 third cylindar coil, first/secondary . I'm not up on all the computer stuff (and probably should have a professional do this but I don't have the cash. So I researched on line and went thorough the following steps. 1. I replaced that plug. (still missfiring) 2 Replaced all the plugs. (Still misfiring but not as bad about 85% of where the car should be) 3 replace coil pack for no3 Cyl. ( Still nothing) 4 switched new coil pack to another cyl to make sure it worked (Yes it did) 5 pulled connectors one at a time from front bank coils to see difference in rpm change (all three worked) 6. Was able to reach underneath intake and pull connector on number 3 coil pack (no change plugged or unplugged. still missing. cylindar order firewall 1-2-3 4-5-6 radiator I have no idea at this point nor do I have the tools to go any further. I take it to a shop and they tell me what I already know except for this They tell me the firing order is 1-3-5 2-4-6 Ok that would explain that I changed the wrong coil pack but it doesn't explain why i didn't get spack from (what I thought was number 3 coil) HELP!!!! Is my firing order right or his? He said that was the order ghe got from his scanner. but I haven't been able to fing anything online to corroborate this........
