  1. Hi all I'm brand new here. Have a huge issue. I just installed a used and tested 2.3 in my 2006 Fusion. The car has spark and fuel. It will not start. The spark is weak and orange. I swapped out all the coil packs with known good ones. What am I missing? Any suggestions? Thanks!
  2. I have a 2006 Fusion SEL and lately I've been having trouble using the remote start. Usually, when it does work, I hold down the button and the horn chirps twice and then starts right up. Now that it's winter, it just chirps once and doesn't do anything at all. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the car battery because the car battery is 6-7 years old.
  3. So, like the title says, the car tries meekly to start, but won't. Got it jumped to get home. Once home, I hooked it to a digital charger and it said it's 100%. Tried to start again, turns over weakly and will not start. No indication that there was an impending problem before this; started just fine before with no issues. Any advice or known issues are welcome. Thanks!
  4. My 2010 has 66K miles on it. Last night I used the key fob to unlock the door to drive home from work like I always do. It was 47 degrees out with some light rain. I got in the car and closed the door. The instrument panel was still illuminated when I turned the key to start the engine (normal). There was no starter activity as the car immediately had a complete electrical power outage. The instrument panel went dark. Nothing I did had any effect. No interior lights whatsoever came on when I opened the door. I popped the hood and jiggled the battery cable connections since I didn't see any corrosion and I didn't see what else I could do. I opened the driver door and was thrilled to have the interior lighting back. I turned the key and the engine started right up like it always does. There were not any warnings or fault indications on the instrument panel. Loose battery cable perhaps? The problem with that theory is that all of my radio settings remained intact. I later tightened the battery cable on the negative terminal since I needed to know that I did something to prevent a reoccurrence. What could have caused the total electrical outage?
  5. Like some other users here I noticed today that the Climate Control options on my 2013 Ford Fusion (mine's a hybrid, not sure if that matters) are all greyed out. I recently took the car in for one of the recalls for some sort of flash and honestly I'm not sure if that's what changed the options to grey and unavilable or not. Now that it's getting colder I noticed that when I used the remote start the seats arne't warm and the front and rear defrosters weren't on and when I tried to change the setting everything was grey From what I've read I suppose that I'll need to take it into the dealership and printing out someting that says: Remote Start options greyed out from research I have found 3 possible solutions 3 possible solutions. TSB 13-05-28 TSB 13-4-4 Or update the instrument cluster. If these don't work then the tech needs to go through the remote start enable process and recheck for the cluster enable not being set in Module Programming/Programmable Parameters on IDS There are 2 parameters that must be set, along with equipment flags. Often a tech that doesn't do lots of these will only enable one, because he doesn't expect there to be multiple. Anyone have any other suggestions? Not looking forward to yet another day without my car Thanks
  6. Hello I am going crazy here trying to find info anywhere I can on what could possibly be the issue with my vehicle. Trying to avoid any towing or mechanic fees unless last resort. My car was riding fine the day this issue began, Came home from store and parked the car, put it in reverse to adjust parking then slid it back into park. No unusual sounds or anything but the car was stuck in reverse on the dashboard and gear, but the shifter was in park and I then couldn't move it at all. Put the emergency brake on and turned the car off. Tried turning the car back on, but it wouldn't start due to it being in reverse. Cannot move shifter at all to move to any other gears its just stuck in PARK. Brake lights work fine although the brake pedal does feel a little bit tougher to push down. Does anyone have any info on what I should be looking at or where to start? Thanks so much for any help.
  7. Hey guys! I just bought a new 2014 Ford Fusion SE. It's an amazing car! I went to the dealer asking about remote start and wanting it on a fusion. He said it was just a $100 add on through one of there suppliers. So I got it and now he said it's going to be $550 with installation. Any way did anyone receive an aftermarket remote start and is it worth it?

  9. I installed a push button start system in my 2011 ford fusion se, everything is working and I love not having to use a key but there is a major security issue. because the fusion has a immobilizer I had to put a chip from the key near the ignition ring which I hid under the dash, so now even when the alarm is active the car will still start. Is there anyway to wire it so that the button is only active when the alrm is disabled?
