In the process of diagnosing a failed steering system on my 2014 FFH SE. I read around that the 12V battery is fairly critical to running all the electronic systems and at quick glance there was a reading of 10.x volts in FORScan somewhere. My question is that if the 12V battery was an issue with contributing yo the FSCM failure, wouldnt there be other modules failing also? Just a general question as I dive in the deep end to try and diagnose this issue myself before having a dealer dip into my wallet. Thanks

Welp.. hello everyone in the land of ford lovers! I am here for a bit of insight. If you can’t tell by subject this is about my 2010 Ford Fusion SE 2.5 Manual 6spd EPS malfunctioning. I was driving the other day on the highway with my daughter and out of nowhere bam!!! The steering wheel was tighter then.. well let’s just say very very tight, had a drip of play but was from lose to tight in the blink of n eye! I could barely turn the steering wheel while doing 75mph down the highway! Luckily I’ve been in some sticky situations before and was able to take some control and pull over to the shoulder.. “thank god I was driving in a straight line” or else it coulda been a lot worse. flashing on my Cluster and making weird chimes was a alert or notice saying *Power Steering Assist Falt* also said Traction Control something something.. will have to go back and look again to be 100% specific, anyway I muscled the car home literally and started searching on google typing in what it said on the cluster and I see that this has been happening in ALOT to a lot of people the past couple years now. “Wish I woulda known before I got the car” tbh.. i did read about recalls but apprently my car has missed the deadline being it’s a 2010 model and not a 2011. I Called my local ford dealership and after n hour of back n forth we got to the real question! Hs said by how I explained it and what it said on the cluster when it happened and describing what happened, his answer was hmm... it’s going to cost you sir $100 bucks for us to tell you that it’s most likely gonna cost almost $2,000 to fix the car and we Give a lifetime warranty on this part/fix.. < lamen’s term I dont make nearly enough to afford that ^ plus this has been happening to a lot of people in the same year and model car as my own for a while now according to many other threads I’ve read. why is my car not included in this recall? It’s not even 10yrs old, this is a very dangerous faulty part malfunction while the car was in full operation. forget the cost! what about my family and my safety, if I did pay for a new Steering Rack and it happened again, I might not be as lucky to collect on that life time warranty part/fix they offer. I mean, wth! It was scary... i guess my main questions is am I junking the car and not looking back? I love the car, I want to keep it but can’t afford to fix that, not now at least and probably not for a while,. Is their any update as to recall’s on The 2010 models and this steering rack malfunction ? I also was told I have to bring the car in cause their is a recall with the passenger air bag, the air bag light has been on for a month, not sure if that is why but just saying aloud suppose. love Ford’s I’ve owned several mustangs in the past but now I’m a family guy and switched to a family car and I chose ford when I did so, and now I think without any assistance from Ford I’m gonna lose out on the last Ford I own. feel free to chime in and share, maybe their is something I can fix my self ? Without having to spend almost $2,000. Or maybe more in depth information about why my car did what it did ? Is their a cheaper saloution if any other solution exists
