  1. I have a 2017 se with the 11 speaker non Sony 8inch screen. I was just wondering where the factory amplifier was and if anyone had a wiring diagram for it.
  2. I have a 2019 Hybrid SE and the sound system is really weak. I was wondering, does the normal system push enough wattage to be able to upgrade the speakers to something better without a full deal amp and subs and whatnot? If so, what are my options? Doesnt need to be a handhold, a point in the right direction can help (i feel if i askat a car stereo shop imma get upsold like crazy when i could just replaced a couple speakers and been fine)
  3. Just bought a 12 Ford Fusion SEL with sony sync and the stereo stopped playing sound. Had to take it to the dealer after 2 car audio guys were unsuccessful to learn the Sony amp has gone out and needs to be replaced. Which they quoted $860. Any recommendations on the cheapest route to just get sound back again? And does anyone know where the DSP amp is located?
  4. Hey guys. I just got a Fusion about a year ago. I have a 2018 Hybrid. I love the car. However, My car has the regular stereo. It’s the one thing I dislike about the car because 1) The 4 inch screen kills me & 2) I have to look at my phone for maps. I bought the car used so I didn’t have the option to upgrade the technology package. What are my options for upgrading? I was looking into buying a touchscreen stereo, but forgot I probably would need a different dash kit. I just honestly have no idea how the whole upgrading my dash works. Will I also have to buy another dash kit on top of a new stereo? Will I have to go to a Ford dealership and spend an arm and a leg for a whole upgrade? Or do I just really have no options at this point? My technology package is standard. Anything would help. Thank you all in advance.
  5. So I just got this car like a week ago.. I bought it used from a dealership. I was sitting in my car last night and I noticed that it started making this sound and I'm not sure what it is. At first I thought it was the CD player trying to eject my phone mount because it goes into the CD player partially but then even upon removing it, it continued and I also don't think that it would explain the rear speaker making that loud popping noise. The video is only 2 seconds long but it does this repeatedly over and over and over. I was sitting in my car for a good 20 minutes just listening to this sound and then I finally got annoyed and turned my car back on to stop the sounds. Does anyone have any ideas? 6. Looking to upgrade my factory stereo in my 2018 Ford Fusion hybrid. Not finding any sites that can find anything for it. Definitely want a touchscreen, a bigger screen, needs Bluetooth, and can work with my backup camera. Any recommendations? (I added a picture of the current one for reference)
  7. I have been searching all over the internet and can't seem to find anybody that has replaced their stock stereo w/navigation with an after market stereo. As far as I can tell the only reason crutchfield doesn't have any thing for my car is because the stereo with the navigation has a different dash panel than the stereo without the navigation. So I bought the climate control buttons off of ebay and the information display. I plugged in them in and the display does not light up but the all the climate control buttons work as far as I can tell. Now the display I bought is for a 2010 to 2012 fusion and I just found a 2009 to 2010 display on ebay that I am going to try and see if it is because I have an early model 2010 as I got it right when they came out. Does any body know if the computer needs to be reprogrammed in order to get the display to work? Has anybody here replaced their factory navigation with a aftermarket stereo?
  8. Good Afternoon everyone, I have a 2014 Fusion SE. I'm in the market for a double din bracket that replaces the current center console stereo controls. Through all my research though, I haven't had any success of finding a kit. Is there one available? If not, is there one planned to be made and sold? Thank you for all your help.
  9. I have a 2010 ford fusion SE ... I don't have Sync. So I don't have the usb i just have the aux input in the middle console. I've tried multiple cables and different devices but when i press the aux button it says no aux. What's going on? How can I fix this?
  10. I am the proud new owner of a 2012 Fusion SE 3.0 V6 FFV. Looking forward to participation in this forum. Been eyeing up these cars for a few years now and couldn't pass up the good deal on this used one. It's got 52k miles, it's black with the 17's and rides like a dream. I'm very pleased with it so far, and I've already gotten plenty of compliments from friends and family. I was seriously thinking about buying an old Lincoln LS just before I bought this, but driving them side-by-side, it's pretty obvious that this is a better car. The Fusion doesn't have quite as flat handling, but it's just as smooth and the transmission doesn't feel like it's going to drop out of the car every time it changes gears. It's also infinitely better on fuel. So glad I didn't make that mistake. I do have one minor complaint, and I bought the car without realizing this. The car was optioned without Sync. I didn't know it was possible to buy any 2012 model car without phone connectivity, but apparently I was wrong. I'd like to add a Bluetooth setup, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Is it difficult to use OEM Ford parts to add sync? I was thinking of grabbing the radio out of a wrecked one or maybe buying the right components from a dealer. Otherwise, I could just buy a kit and install a nice aftermarket unit in there. Thanks in advance for any input you guys might have.
  11. Last night I installed a new aftermarket head unit in my 2011 Fusion SEL. I thought I might as well take pictures of the process and post them here. Hopefully it helps somebody else out who needs to do something similar. 1. Open the door to the storage box at the top of the console. Remove the rubber mat that's in there, it's secured to the front of the box opening (nearest you) just mess with it and it will make sense. 2. Remove the two bolts that hold it in place. 3. Then Slide the box towards you, the vents sometimes come with the box and sometimes stack back connected to the venting. If you need to adjust or fix the fins now would be a good time. You can unhook the Hazards button and Passenger airbag light at this time but I chose to just keep it connected as I can access the face panel screws with this piece loose. Not pictured: Many Fusions have a plastic strap connected to the bottom of the box which goes down above the gas pedal and is bolted down. I removed this from the previous time I disassembled the dash. To get to the other end of it you need to remove the panel below the steering wheel to give you some slack to get the box out and be able to access the bolts on the console. 4. Next we need to remove the center console piece with the cup holders and cut out for the shifter. To do this, pull the parking brake and then open the arm rest. Use a flat head screw driver to pry it upwards. I always wrap the tip of the screw driver with a couple pieces of electrical tape to give it some padding and avoid scratches or cracks from sharp edges. Keep carefully pulling up from back to the front and it should also pop the chrome ring from around the shifter out of place. If your car has the lighting kit, disconnect the wiring from underneath the cup holders. At this point I took these pieces in the house and scrubbed them up good in the kitchen sink with a mild detergent. I bought the car pre-owned and there were some smudges I wanted to get off. 5. Once that has been removed and put aside in a safe location it's time to remove the coin tray at the front of the console. Just wiggle it and pull up and towards you and it should come out without much effort as there are no screws holding it into place. Once you have the coin tray loose, disconnect the power cable for the aux power jack and set it aside. (Note this pic is actually from after the install, I didn't take one of this part before but wanted to show what it looks like). 6. This is what it looks like with the coin tray removed. 7. Back up at the top of the console, remove the two bolts that hold the face panel (I don't know a better name to call it) in place. The bolts were hidden behind the lip of the top console storage box. Pull the face panel towards you from the top to bottom. There are 6 clips (3 on each side) that will pop loose. Be careful as the stereo, HVAC and other button controller boxes are actually attached to the back of the face panel and not to the inside of the dash like every other car I've ripped apart a month after buying it. You will need to remove 4 wiring harnesses (maybe more or less if the car has different options) from the back of several control units on the back of the face panel. They're pretty easy, press the tab and pull away, you could mark them if you like but the only two that look the same are color coded so I didn't bother. The CD player unit will remain bolted into the dash. 8. Next remove the 4 bolts that hold the CD player unit in place and remove it by pulling it out towards you. Unhook the wiring harness and remove it from the car. 9. Here's what the open dash cavity looks like with the face panel and CD player removed. Here you'll see multiple wiring harnesses from the vehicle as well as my RCA cables and amplifier remote turn on wire that I ran previously. These can be run down the drivers side of the car underneath the plastic trim panels in the door openings. 10. Remove The HVAC and other control boxes from the stock face panel (left) and re-install them on your aftermarket face panel (right). I left the factory stereo controller box attached for now and will probably just store it until many years from now when I'm ready to sell the car and want to put it back to stock. Anyway, the controller boxes were attached with star-screws, but a small flat head screw driver worked fine for me as I was too lazy to go grab the star drivers. The bottom control box with traction control and lighting buttons just popped out with some tabs and had no screws. To Be Continued...
