  1. I want to add a subwoofer to my 2018 ford fusion, i am going to run a 2 channel amp for the front 2 speakers (6.5 inch kenwoods) 100 RMS, then add another amp for a subwoofer. i have a line out converter to use by NVX (xlca2) similar to the audiocontrol LC2i. my question is would it be okay to tap into the rear deck subwoofers instead of tapping into the rear door speakers? my main goal is to not have to take out the factory stereo. I know the rear deck subwoofers have a amplifier to power them so i wasnt sure if they had a crossover that would mess up signal going to the loc or if it would be okay to tap into those instead of the rear doors. I was going to run 1 power wire to a distribution block to power both amps, then ground both. either the rear door/rear deck subwoofers to the LOC, then also power the loc with its own power wire from the battery or add it to a pre existing fuse. If anybody has used those rear deck subwoofers to run a amp let me know if its possible and how it turned out, if nobody knows then i will just stick with tapping the rear door speakers.
  2. I decided to fiberglass my driver and passenger door panels to house 3 speakers each.
  3. I'm planning an install of my 10 inch subwoofer and 1000 watt amp into my 2008 SEL, utilizing a Line Out Converter. I've already purchased an LC2i Line Out Converter, the plan is to splice that into my rear speakers for the signal to the amp. I've not installed a system using a Line Out Converter, but after replacing the head unit in my old Altima, I'd like to avoid doing all of the tedious work of taking apart the dash, and my research seems to indicate that a LOC should do the trick. I'm not very technical and my experience is limited, so any advice to keep me or my car fully functioning would be greatly appreciated My plan goes as follows Run LOC power from the trunk to the fuse box (18 gauge wire with a fuse head?) Does it matter what fuse slot I use? Run Amp Power through firewall directly to battery A few posts here have indicated there is a small white plastic circle where the clutch would be. I'll most likely take the battery out to hopefully see that spot and be able to drill through it or finesse it through Once I have my power I've got to wire the LOC into my rear "subs". The wires are easily accessible in the trunk. I found a wiring diagram online which I'll post below, however now I'm not certain it's accurate because I think my car has more speakers Somebody on another site suggested a "bumper" to determine polarity. If the wires don't exactly match, I suppose I'll try that. Once I determine the right polarity, I'll wire the speakers to the LOC using additional speaker wire Do I have to wire it into each rear speaker? Or do I just tap into one? After that, I'll ground the amp and the LOC to a bolt in the trunk. Connect RCA from LOC to Amp, get everything connected to power, and I should be good to go? My question remains, how does the LOC know to power off? I know this is a cluster, clearly any guidance is appreciated! 4. Last summer, I decided I wanted to put (kind of) stock trunk deck subwoofers in my 2006 Fusion SEL. I found a wiring diagram explaining where everything went and we (my dad and I) followed that wiring diagram. Instead of using stock subwoofers for the Fusion generation (2006-2009), I found two subwoofers, Sony, from a 2011 Fusion, same size as the stock ones, 6x9. I couldn't find any stock subwoofers (Audiophile) anywhere. But we used the stock amplifier from the 2006-2009 generation. Before all this, I bought a 2008 Mercury Milan Navigation unit, so it had the 8-pin connection for the amplifier on the back ready to go unlike the unit I had before. I went to a local junkyard and got the connections for the Navigation unit and connections for the actual amp. I bought, one of two, amplifiers on eBay. We followed the diagram exactly, connected the power wire to the fuse box and nothing. We're certain the subs work because we tested them beforehand. After that, I just quit because I thought it was the amplifier, so last week, I bought another one and the same thing, nothing worked. Anyone have any ideas? Could it be that we mixed subwoofers from a 2011 Fusion with an amp from a 2009 Fusion? Also, does anyone know what "Enable CUP" means on the diagram, the VIO/RED one going to the amp? I inserted the wiring diagram.
  5. Okay, I need help once again! I keep putting off fixing my subwoofers because I just give up, they're just sitting there in the car deck doing nothing. I have a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL. I've ran all the proper wires from the radio and the power wire from the fuse box (which does have power, we checked) according to the wiring diagram. I did get a Ford navigation head unit last year that supports an amplifier. For my amplifier, I'm using a stock one from a 2009 Fusion (Audiophile). For subwoofers, I'm using Sony ones from a 2011 Fusion. And nothing is working for some reason, no sound at all! Do I need to get a Sony amplifier from a Fusion? I inserted the wiring diagram, if needed. I appreciate any help given!
  6. Hello everyone, New to the forum, but been searching for a while. I have a 2015 Fusion SE with the small screen radio ( non-touchscreen ). I like the way it sounds but I want to add an amp and subwoofer. I was hoping to add it to the factory head unit. Is there a place to hook it up to behind that, or do I need to cut into rear speakers? Also looking to find where to wire the amp on/off wire so it shuts off with the car. Any help is appriciated. Thanks.
  7. Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone has already done a similar install on their hybrid and can provide some guidance. I bought a 2015 Fusion Hybrid SE and the sound system is not that great. I'd like to add a 10", 100W Powered Bass Tube (Bazooka #BTA10100FHC). It includes the FAST-9999 Factory Radio Connection Kit. I think this is a pretty straight forward install on non-hybrid cars, but I don't know if the install would be different on a hybrid vehicle. Sites such as Crutchfield still do not carry wiring diagrams for the hybrid models and they also cannot guarantee that the wiring will be the same as their non-hybrid counterparts (and likely isn't the same). Has anybody out there installed something similar to this? Any tips/suggestions?
  8. I have a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL with the Sony System. I am wanting to add an aftermarket amp and subwoofer on top of the subs in the back deck behind the rear seats. I already know that there are two factory amps powering the door speaker and the subs. I was thinking about using the AudioControl LC2i to take the signal and convert it to RCA connections. But where would I take the signal from?
  9. I have a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL with the 12-Speaker Sony System. I want to add a subwoofer and amplifier but want to keep the factory head unit. I know I could use a LOC and tap into the rear speaker but is there any other options? And if I was going to use a LOC how would I splice into that wiring for the speaker? Any ideas or questions are well appreciated! Thanks
  10. I have a 2011 Ford Fusion SEL with Sync (no premium stereo that I know of) I just purchased not 4 days ago. I want to install my JL 1000 watt mono amp (and possibly one more as well for addional tweeters) and my 2 10in JL W7s that I took out of my last car. The obvious answer is to purchase and install an in-line converter since I definitely want to keep the full funationality of Sync. The trouble is, how do I know what wires to splice for the in-line converter? If I'm missing a post on here with a wiring diagram wiht color codes and all that can someone please point me in the right direction? I know I have a 6 speaker system, 2 tweets in corner front doors, 2x front door bottoms, and 2x back door bottoms (none in rear deck go figure, the easiest place to get to speaker wires). I prefer a non-invasive solution like the Pac Aoem-Frd24 ( http://www.pac-audio...8&CategoryID=28 ), but it's listed compatability stops at 2010 with virtually all Ford models. Has anyone had any luck with this product on a 2011 model (or newer) Ford? If not, does anyone know of a different product like this that is compatible if not? Thanks everyone - loving my Fusion so far!
  11. Hello everyone, I am needing some help ASAP! I have a 2010 Fusion sport with the manufacturer Sony system. I have a double din deck I am half way through installing and OF COURSE IT DOESN'T WORK! I have purchased: -PAC C2R FRD1 radio interface module We got the deck running but there a no sound. My buddy installs car audio and it even has him stumped. He thinks we might need a relay to supply enough power to the factory amp to make it work. Any one have any input? We noticed that the wiring diagram with the module didn't neasicarly match up perfectly... Somedays I hate owning a ford
  12. Hey guys just got the sound system in. This is part 3 in the vids. Be sure to check out the other parts to see the build. Don't forget to subscribe if you like what you see.
