  1. Hello everyone! (Please excuse if this is in the wrong category, I just joined the forum and I am still learning the site! ) I have a 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE, I have had some issues with my fusion and need a bit of feedback on what an issue I have may be. Recently, I have had some issues with alignment and vibration in the steering wheel. My 2018 Fusion has ~102,000 miles and sees heavy daily use. At idle and while driving, my steering wheel has had a slight vibration (nothing too bad yet, but enough to be annoying), and pre-alignment pulled to the right slightly. After the alignment, instead of pulling to the right it pulled to the left within alignment spec. The alignment was just done yesterday (08/05/2023) I have replaced the following parts within the last 2,000 miles. - Wheels (235/45/R18) - Sway Bar Links - Bearing/Hub Assemblies (they needed it desperately) - Rear Shocks - Rear Sway Bar Links Might this be an issue with the Lower Control Arm/Ball joint, and if so what brand won't break the bank? I just wanted to get some feedback of other owners prior to ordering the parts. I know I also need struts assemblies but I am waiting on my next payday for those. Thanks in advance!
  2. Hello all, The rear shocks on my 2012 fusion 2.5 are needing replaced. Any recommendations for parts? Not looking for anything fancy; just long lasting yet affordable. Thanks!
  3. Does anyone have experience with coilovers on their Sport. I am not happy with the handling of this car, coming from Mustangs I guess I'm used to better handling. I think suspension work would do wonders for this car. If I have to stiffen the chassis that wouldn't be a problem.
  4. Replacing the rear subframe in my car because of rust. And I figured I’d do bushings too. I can’t find the rear lower control arm bushings anywhere. Do they sell them or do I need to buy the whole arms?
  5. I want to do a few cheap upgrades on my 2015 ford fusion 2.5L FWD. I am seeking a more sporty feel in corners, but this is my daily driver, not my toy, so i dont want to get too in-depth. i have been looking to do the following upgrades: strut tower bar sway bars polyurethane steering rack bushings if you have any other relatively cheap upgrades you can throw in there for me to check out PLEASE do and thank you!
  6. I lucked up on some new in the box Eibach 4031.140 Pro Springs at goodwill for 39.99. Of course they are normally $250+. When I research these say they are for 06-11 Honda Civic. Of course a civic sedan is fwd. They even look exactly like the Eibach springs for the 2010 Fusion. Will these fit or do I just need to throw them on ebay and make some money?
  7. When making an accelerating right-hand turn from a stop or near stop, there is a repetitive clicking noise that seems to be coming from the front right. The noise will also occur when turning left, but not as prominent as when turning right. The noise is not there when making right turns while maintaining speed or minimal speed variations. The clicking stops when proceeding straight again. Any ideas what part of the suspension would be causing this? I don't believe it to be rack/pinion or transmission related. But on the subject of transmission, in colder weather, the car "clunks" from first to second gear... with 125K, I surely hope the transmission is not going bad. Another mechanic mentioned a transmission solenoid that may be defective. Does this sound accurate?
  8. Hey guys, 08 ford fusion 5-speed. In the last year, i have replaced both front struts (twice), both sway bar links (twice) and the outer tie rods. I also replaced the strut mounts with brand new units both times. I put monroe sensa tracs on the first time and started to get a "clunking" noise, i took it to get an inspection where i was told everything is tight and that it is the nature of the Monroe struts. I did some research and found that KYB struts are OEM so after some time and gradual increase to the "clunking" noise, i installed KYB struts. Both times i replaced the sway bar links for good measure. Now that i have the KYB struts it was nice and quiet for almost 2 weeks, now i get a "rattle" noise without a lot of suspension travel, just a small bumb at low speed all the way up to faster speeds, same "rattle" I took it again this morning for an inspection and was told that everything is tight. I have physically checked every bolt, bushing and component in the front end and am now at a loss... Any and all help would be substantially appreciated. Thanks
  9. Hello I have a 2007 Mercury milan base, 2.3L with around 130,000 miles. I have had a horrible noise that is similar to a squeak or creak every time I ......A) turn the wheel or when I hit bumps or pretty much drive not in a smooth straight road. The noise seems to be dramatically worse when the weather is cold ( I live in ohio) and you can always hear it very prominent outside the car and inside. I had the front struts and top rubber boots replaced last year and that seemed to help temporarily but It is another year and the sound is just as bad. The mechanic said nothing else seemed wrong at the time and the stock struts were not even bad. I had read on this forum at one point or another about something needing to be aligned with some holes in the suspension but I'm not sure. Has anyone else had this problem or any help with this. It's to the point I don't enjoy the car because people stop and stare at it when I drive it, it's kind of embarrassing! Thanks for any help or input
  10. Ok 2015 Fusion owners.... I've searched high and low for this and can't find anyone with the same issue. I picked up my Fusion in July band new and within a month I started to get this subtle "clunk" in the front right wheel. It has progressively gotten worse. The best way to describe it is like a hollow thumping or clunking sound and I keep thinking maybe it's a bad bushing or ball bearing. I haven't had a chance to crawl under and check (condo life... no where to do maintenance) so I'm hoping someone has any idea. I'm going to take it to the dealer as soon as I get a chance but have not been able to get there yet. This thing is practically brand new and I'm starting to get worried my wheel is going to fall off! Ideas?
  11. I have a 2010 Fusion S (very basic) with 150K miles on it. The boots on all the lower ball joints are torn so I was going to replace them. Other boots on things like tie rod, upper ball joint look OK but I'm not sure if they will last or if the joint is worn underneath. Anyone know the life expectancy of the front end components including the struts? Ride didn't feel too bad - just noticed problem when I was rotating tires. ( I was getting what sounded like a lot of tire noise after about 17K on my new Michelins). Was thinking of going with OEM parts but any suggestions on that front are welcome as well. Thanks Ed
  12. Hey all, Looking to buy a set of used lowering springs for a 2010 v6 fusion. Thanks!
  13. Does anyone on this forum personally sell the Progress Rear Sway Bars? I am looking for one for my '11 Fusion and have found the prices online pretty steep. Has anyone noticed a difference between the Progress and the Steeda Race Rear Sway Bars? I just want to firm up the rear with the best replacement from stock.
