  1. Hello. I have a 2009 Ford Fusion SE. When I try to use my mp3 player plugged into the USB port, I can't hear anything from it. It otherwise seems to be working and displays the track title and goes through the music; it's just the audio. When I use my radio, the audio works just fine. The audio from SYNC works fine as well. When I tried to test the audio from the CD player (which honestly I haven't used in years), I've discovered the CD changer is also not working. I was able to put a CD in, but it was unable to read it. Then when I tried to eject it, it says "CD Error" and won't spit it back out. What I've tried for troubleshooting: * Checking/adjusting the volume on the mp3 player and turning it up to max volume. * Plugging in a flash drive with an mp3 on it. Still no audio from that either. * Unplugged the fuse for the SYNC; waited a few seconds; plugged it back in to reset it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! UPDATE: I completely disconnected the battery, let it sit for about a minute, then re-connected it. The audio is working again, AND my CD player is working again.
  2. I have a 2014 Fusion SE with the base radio and out of nowhere all of my outlets stopped working. I've checked the fuzes in both panels and all of them are good.
  3. I experienced a loss of audio on the left side of the car. I replaced the two component speakers in the front left door (woofer and tweeter) with brand new speakers and am still having the same problem. The audio installer checked his work and says all his connections are secure. The audio on the left side cuts down to about 25% of what it should be. I noticed one time that it cut in and cut out when going over a large bump in the road. I noticed several other posts in this forum relating to loss of audio on the left side, but they all specifically referenced it happening only when listening to FM radio. I listen only to music on a USB thumb drive. The vehicle is a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL with I believe the moon and tunes package (speakers are all Sony). If anyone has any information regarding this issue I would be very grateful if you shared it! Thanks!
  4. Have a brand new 2018 Fusion SE with Sync 3. Everything had been working fine with the exception of the system locking up on occasion. Turn it off and let it sit for about 5 minutes and was back in business. Having an issue now where my ac will work fine, until I plug my phone in the USB port. Then it just blows hot air! It does this every time! I’m currently at the dealership having it looked at, but wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what was the cause/solution? Going to post this in the Sync thread as well in case it belongs there...
  5. Hi fellow sync users, new to this site, as well as my recently bought Fusion. it is an 09 Ford Fusion SEL, It has Sync compatibility, also has the AUX and USB ports in center console. whenever i press the phone button to add a new phone it says NO PHONE. I cannot even get into the phone menu or system settings. I have pulled and replaced the SYNC fuse, as well as pulling the battery lines to reset the whole system in the car, still no luck. whenever i put an AUX cable or USB in, the radio does not detect any of those features. It only works on radio & CD function. Help please, I would like to access all of the features my "new" car has to offer. Thank you.
  6. Hello, My name is Aaron. This is my first post so don't criticize me too much. I just got a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL. I have been looking for a way to play my music that I like in my car. I really don't have any mp3 players on me, but I thought about it and I decided I could put a Laptop Hard Drive I have in the car, connected with a USB. I have done some research and I have found out that the HDD must be in FAT32 format, but that still didn't work for me. I also tried lowering the allocation unit size, but that still didn't work. I just need some help on solving this problem. The HDD I am trying to use now is the 2.5'' Western-Digital 2500BEVT-75ZCT2. I also have a different 2.5'' HDD, which is the Western-Digital 1200BEVS. I do have some experience with computers, so any help from more experienced people is well appreciated. Even if you just have a thought on how to help, go ahead and ask. Thanks!
  7. On 2011 FFH my USB will sometimes just stop working. When I try to access it I get "USB Removed". The only way I can reset it is to disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and reconnect the battery. It works fine until it decides to remove itself for no reason. I've had it into the dealer on a regular basis and they can never find anything wrong. I am using the USB to play audio books on my iPod Touch.
  8. I've been reading into this issue for about 2 days now because my car now says USB empty when I select it. I bought the car in April and everything was working fine but last month I was in car accident. The car was given back with all OEM parts and everything was working except the USB port. I am bringing the car back to the Autobody garage once they get a part that I found still broken but that won't be for a week. Figured I might as well try to fix the issue. Here is a list of things I have tried and symptoms: Unplugging battery for 20 minutes then reattaching removing fuse 13,15,32,33 waiting 5 minutes and plugged back in powering down my iPod and turning it back on Can't install sync software again because I'm already on the newest one Tried toggling the accessory key turn repeatedly Master Reset of the sync Factory defaults of the sync Tried 2 different phones and 2 different iPods Tried 3 different cables USB option always says empty even when nothing is plugged in USB doesn't charge anything Bluetooth works fine for audio playing and phone calls My question is what else can I try? Additionally there is no fuse labeled Sync in the 2014 manual so I'm not entirely sure 13, 15, 32, or 33 were correct. Manual here: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerGuide_EU/Default.aspx?bookcode=O23578&market=US&language=EN&VIN= After I remove the fuse, should I have started the car? I'd prefer not to bring it to Ford because I just found out my dealership, the scammers they are, won't give me a loaner vehicle when I drop mine off because I don't bring my vehicle to them for service (I am not paying $60 every other month, I drive 23k annually, for an oil change, I've done my own since I started driving and I do keep receipts). I do plan on bringing it to them every 10k miles which the sales rep even said was fine and off course the only time they are open is when I am working. It has to be the USB port isn't being detected because all these devices use to work before the accident. Any other tips?
  9. I just bought a 2010 Fusion Hybrid with 102,000 km on it. I like the car except for the fact that whenever the Sync system (6 cd changer) is used or kicks in there is an awful lot of static. I spend a lot of time commuting in my car and generally listen to audiobooks or music from my iPod and this ability was one of the main reasons why I was looking at the Ford's. I've tried playing audio files through the iPod (tried 3 different cables), through bluetooth (iPhone 4 iOS7 and BB Z10), and also through a usb drive connected to the usb port. All have the static. Also, whenever the Sync system kicks in like when it says "bluetooth connected" the static is there too. I've tried the master reset and pulling the Sync fuse (left it out for 5 minutes with the car off, then ran the car for 5 minutes with it out, and then put it back in) and still no change. I've uploaded an audio file illustrating the static: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vtzdmvb5mrdor78/Sync%20Static.m4a I was hoping that someone might be able to shed some light on this and how to fix it. According to Syncmyride.com my car has the latest software (v3.1). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. I am having trouble organizing my music and audiobooks and playing them from a USB. In Picture #1, you can see that on my USB device (labeled FUSION), the system detects that I have Music and Audiobooks on the device. When I select "Audiobooks", only the books show up (as seen in Picture #2)...all is good so far. When I go back to Picture #1 and select "Music" from the screen, I get the "Music" screen (picture #3). There I select "Albums" and I get all the albums...audiobooks and music. I would have expected only the music. So I'm finding it difficult to just select a music album. Perhaps I'm a bit different and like to play albums (as opposed to specific songs or artists). My mind organizes by albums. Perhaps I need to look at this differently. Any suggestions? I am trying to use the voice activation more and more, but finding that selecting what I want to listen to is a bit difficult.
