  1. Hey all, I recently purchased an 07 Mercury Milan Premier AWD (which to my knowledge is identical to the Fusion in terms of the powertrain). The car has about 110,000 miles and runs great bar a vibration that occurs between 25-35 mph. This vibration is generally more present when the car hasn't yet warmed up. After doing some driving, the vibration mostly subsides. It can be felt pretty strongly in the back of the drivers seat. My first thought was that this is the driveshaft. However, word around the street appears to be that when these do go, I should hear some sort of howl noise. My car remains silent though. Any thoughts on what this can be? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Daniel P.S: Putting the car in neutral does not change anything. Also, the car recently began developing a bounce kind of sensation in the front right wheel that typically occurs after driving a bit. Its not pleasant at all and it seems to go away after slowing down a bit.
  2. Dear fellows; I'm diagnosing a "crank & no start" condition in my 2010 3.0 V6 AWD that sat in the garage for a couple of years. Brand new battery; Oil + oil filter changed; The fuel pump itself got locked, so I replaced it for another with similar specs; Also replaced the pump strainer/sock + fuel pressure regulator preventively; Put the whole module to test at the work bench in a bucket with water - apparently it's working fine except for one aspect: the cup where the pump sits has to be overflowing with fuel during normal operation? If so, for some reason it's NOT happening here. I've seen videos on the subject where the mechanic/technician reports that that such overflow keeps the pump submerged in fuel, thus preventing overheating and a shorter life. I also would appreciate any help towards the identification of the module's components interconnected by a thin black hose... Tried to google technical diagrams and/or parts description of the module without sucess. I'll upload some pics soon. Thanks in advance and best regards!

    New Guy

New to this forum and new to my fusion. I picked up this 2011 Sport in gorgeous white after searching for an 11 or 12 sport. Looking to do some upgrades, lighting, cold air intake, etc in the near future.
  4. Howdy all, I've got a big project going on. I've got a 2010 SEL with the 3.0 V6 Duratec Engine. I'm wondering if anyone here as applied the Ground Effects package or any other such body kit to their Fusion. I've got a load of other questions as well, but I'm going to begin with the body kit most likely. Unfortunately, mine didn't come the spoiler which i will be adding soon after as well as a duck tail on my rear window.
  5. Ran the OBD and it threw thelse codes: Any help as to what might be the problem?
  6. Hey everyone, First post here. I did some searching but couldn't find any exact match to my situation. It seems the owner before me didn't really care for my car (2012 Ford Fusion SEL 3.0 V6) - which is a shame really. It's in great condition but there are some things I'd like to fix to bring it back to perfect. One of them being the shifter assembly. It seems like a rarity for such a young car to have a problem like this, which is why it's hard to find a solution away from paying the dealership $480 for install on a $175 part brand new. The actual shift knob has lateral pivot play about 3-5º in either direction left or right. Because of this play - I'm assuming at least - the SelectShift rocker button no longer shifts up and only allows me to shift down. From what I've seen in other forums and via my dealership here in Indiana, the shifter assembly is just one large part and you can't just purchase a new button/wires for the rocker shifter. I have two questions - would a Fusion Sport shifter assembly of the same year (2012) with the Sport shift gate work/fit a 2012 SEL? If the Sport shifter assembly isn't an option, is there anything I need to know about swapping out my existing broken for a like-new used or brand-new shifter assembly? Anything that might cause the computer to lock the solenoid or cause any sort of malfunction? If anyone has performed this? If so, can you document with pictures? If I end up doing this myself, I'd happily document with pictures so the next person that runs into this issue doesn't have such a hard time tracking down a how-to. Thanks! Mike
  7. Just purchased a 2010 Fusion SEL 3.0 FWD with only 7100 miles. I won't disclose actual price but it was south of 14k. Leather, sunroof, automatic w select shift, sony audio package with SYNC, all power, dual exhaust, rear spoiler, non navigation stereo. This cat was sold to an 80 year old in 2010 brand new for 28k. She drove it home and parked it in her garage only drive to the hair salon, grocery, and church. She passed away Aug '15, RIP, and her daughter settled the estate. Lucky local ad troling turned up this deal, KBB and NADA value close to 17K. All stock. Looking for ideas and on reliable, smart upgrades. Aesthetically and performance. Starting with window tint, possible plasti dip (black) grill to preserve chrome, and Thule roof rack with cargo basket for travel. Thanks! Glad to be part of the Fusion family.
  8. Hello Fusion Forum, I'm new to this site as a member, but I've visited it frequently over the years, always great advice here! I have a 2007 fusion v6 FWD w/ 126,000 miles on it. I've always made an oil change within 5,000 mi and roughly 75% of the recent miles were long highway trips on cruise (100+ mi). During my last 2 oil changes (Aug 2014 & Nov 2014) the techs told me that I had very small leaks showing up on the engine, though I had not noticed any spots on the floor at home when checking. I tried a Stop Leak engine oil additive at 123,000 and by 124,000 I started seeing spotting on the garage floor. Now there are a few more spots and I took the car in to the shop to find out what's all leaking. I asked around and found a shop that was highly recommended by a vehicle fleet manager because they don't BS anything. According to the shop I have these oil leaks: - Both oil pan & gasket - Front crankshaft seal - Rear crankshaft seal - Camshaft seal They said they needed to pull the motor to fix everything and the bill would be roughly $2500, they did not recommend fixing it, but rather cleaning it and trading it. Which I'm now inclined to do. This car has spent it's entire life in harsh Minnesota and North Dakota winters, and has generally had 10% ethanol gas in it (it's almost impossible to find straight gasoline anymore here in the plains). Any other theories (besides the ethanol and cold weather factors) on why all of these went bad all at once? Thanks!
  9. Hey all, Looking to buy a set of used lowering springs for a 2010 v6 fusion. Thanks!
  10. Hello all! i have been a long time stalker of this forum and figured i would finally become a member. I was given my 2010 Fusion SE V6 as a fleet/ company car about a year ago and have made it my goal to make a cheap fun "modified car." Which is where i wonder if yall can help me out. I have done the exhaust already straight pipes from the cat back, but i was looking to lower the car, on a set or cheap springs but not ebay ones so i was looking for used, eibach etc. So far i have $60 (Stainless tips, and a couple cans of paint) dollars in, and was hoping to spend no more than $200 on the car since it will be getting turned back in in about 30,000 miles. Thanks every one! I've attached some links of my car. http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/10089625/ http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/10089626/ Video for the exhaust.
  11. Hi, I have a 2007 ford fusion. My front driver's side window got stuck in the down position. It only gets stuck when the window goes all the way down. Other then that it will go up and down. Whats wrong? Thanks for the help
  12. Hello all, I've got some electrical issues going on (at least I think that's what it is) and I'm hoping someone can help me diagnosis the problem a little more. So my rear right passenger window will sometimes work...most of the time it won't though. Everything sounds fine when it is working and it'll go up/down fine, which leads me to believe that it's not the window motor or regulator. But here's what's throwing me off: I'll use the drivers windows switch to roll down the back window and sometimes it'll work, but then if I wait a little while (anywhere from seconds to several minutes) the window seizes to work. No noises, movement, just nothing. The only way to get it going again is to try the back window switch and hopefully it'll get it moving again. If it doesn't, then I just have to alternate switches until one of them does something... Okay, to sum things up- Is this a problem with the window switch and if it is, which switch would it likely be? OR is it something that sounds like a more involved electrical issue? I really appreciate any feedback/help!!
  13. Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum and modding fords I have a 2010 FF SE V6 6spd AT w/ss, so far I have done a Steeda CAI (insert removed), SCT X3 tuner (93 octane custom), Steeda STB, 6000k lows and 6000k fogs. That is it for now, I have had the car for a few months and it runs great. The car changed a lot with the install of the power pack, low & top end pulls are strong and the sound is intoxicating. I ran her against my friends 2013 5.0 last night and it did very well. I have much more planned for this car and will post her progress.

  21. Before traveling for Christmas, I need to take my '06 V6 in for service. I'm at 89,500 miles right now. I need to do the 90k mile service (oil & filter, cabin air filter, change transmission fluid, and the inspections). However, I believe my car is beginning to need spark plugs, so I figured I might as well go ahead and have the 100k service done as well (change plugs & PCV valve and change coolant). I just called the dealer I usually take my car to for maintenance, but the guy I talked to was an idiot. I asked if he could give me an estimate of how much the 90k and 100k services would cost. His response? "Oh we'd have to look at it and see what all it needs; we don't do any of that unless it needs it." WHAT?! :chairshot: Isn't that why it's called PREVENTATIVE maintenance? Anyway, I will definitely be taking it to another dealer, but I was wondering: does anyone have an idea of what I can expect to pay? It's Christmas time and I have yet to go shopping and money is tight as it is, so I don't want to go in too deep. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  22. I just saw this article the other day. It's not much, but apparently the marketing manager for the new Fusion will neither confirm or deny the possibility of a high-performance Fusion variant. I think most of us were thinking along the lines of the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 from the Taurus SHO, but even the non-turbo 3.7L V6 from the Mustang would be fun (which is probably more likely since it's an option on the new MKZ). She says people have been asking and the platform can support it, so we can only hope a big engine will be a possibility in the future (2014 models?).
