gabrix
Hi guys, I don't know what's the problem with my headlights or the sensor but my headlights don't turn on right away whenever I enter a dark area. Yes, they are set on automatic lights, but my son has a ford focus and for example when we enter a parking lot or a tunnel the lights turn on immediately, on my fusion it takes up to 15 seconds to turn on. I don't think it is the sensor because it has been like that since day one, and a friend of mine has a newer focus and doesn't have a problem. I checked the info settings and the only thing I can adjust is the delay for the lights to turn off after I leave the car. Any idea here guys ??
eGuru
From my observations, the delay seems to be "normal" on the Fusions. If anyone knows different and a way to reduce the delay, I would also like to know how.
drolds1
15 seconds sounds about right to me. Over the years, I've noted that the delay has become slightly longer and longer. This is acceptable IMO. I don't need the lights coming on in every little underpass. IIRC, my '89 Sable had a sensitivity adjustment for the autolamps but I haven't seen it since in any FoMoCo product.
gabrix
Thanks for the answers guys but that's the thing, they turn on right away in one second on the focus and on the new fusion, that's why I think it's kind of weird. I don't know about the other cars but compared to ford models it's slower
bangster
With my 2017 Escape the head unit dims much sooner in a given amount of light than the headlights. While there is ambient light from outside, and quite a bit of artificial light in the only tunnel within a few hundred miles of me, I get at least 1/4 mile into it before the headlights come on in either my 2012 Fusion or the Escape. I see nearly all other vehicles that probably have auto lamp come on before we start to curve and not get light from outside the tunnel.
Pulsar-J1748
You can adjust this setting (Autolamps) in the left screen of your dashboard. Unfortunately the range is 10-120 sec! I'm looking for a way to decrease that delay, maybe with Forscan software, I have to check (e.g. https://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5641). Too bad Ford doesn't "allow" shorter delay, I feel stupid everytime I enter a tunnel and my headlights turn on a few seconds before the end of the tunnel while other cars headlights turn on immediatly!

Pulsar-J1748
you're right, my bad. So the only way is to change the "Ambient Light Sensor type Cfg" value from 0 (15s delay) to 1 (2s delay) with Forscan. I'll give a try soon.
Pulsar-J1748
Just keeping you up-to-date: value of 726-26-01 xxxX was already at '1'. I changed it to '0' with no luck...

Disappointing, but thanks for trying and reporting your results here. Too many posters just ask questions and then when they implement a proposed solution, you never hear from them again. So you never know if it was a good proposed solution, they found a better one (that we would love to know about), or they gave up. Thanks
