Ice
I will be buying a 2007 Fusion SEL V6. Does anyone know of any changes? I would only expect small changes like a few different paint options or different rims. I hear the new V6 will be coming for this car. Will that replace the current V6 or be an additional option. Thanks,
FusionSELV6
From what I hear at my Dealership, the news is that late 06 (2007 model) will be offering AWD Turbo... Trev

cclittle
Here is some recent (1/22/06) feedback from a product development manager: The Milan does not have any functional differences from the Fusion. Thedifferences are only cosmetic -- color, trim, grille, wheels, etc. There is no difference between the ride and handling of the Fusion and Milan. You are correct on the Zephyr being tuned differently for a more laid back ride. That being said, both the Fusion and Milan have excellent ride and handling. All the models will be available with AWD for 2007 but only the Zephyr will have the 3.5L in September. We will release details early next month. Pretty sad, as I think the Fusion/Milan would be pretty f'in sweet with the 3.5L. Although I can't help wondering if the way it was stated (Sept vs 2007) means that the engine could still be made available in the Fusion/Milan later in MY07...

Chris - it's a manufacturing capacity issue. They'll also be introducing that engine in the Mark X and Edge this fall, plus they need some exclusivity for the Zephyr. I'd expect to see it within a year on the Fusion/Milan but possibly only on the AWD versions. I can't imagine more power going just through the front wheels.
Drake
Guess I'll be waiting longer. Oh well just got the X paid for. I can live without a car payment.

Thanks, V6 SE AWD V6 SEL AWD New options for rear spoiler and navigation system. I know these were in the ordering computer, I'm not 100% sure, but I also think that there was a code for Satelite radio. V6 was still the 3.0L

Well if that's the case, they've just exclusified themselves out of a sale. I'm ready to retire my 98 Sable LS DOHC, so was waiting for 2007 Fusion to come out with 3.5L. Guess I'll have to look elsewhere than ford. - Steve Edited February 11, 2006 by swellings
Drake
I'm gonna go test drive an AWD Fusion when they come out. I've never driven an AWD car before.
1970boss302mustang
What I would really want is to have is a Mazdaspeed6 with a V6, why does it have an I4? My choices for mynext car include 07 Fusion AWD, 07 Milan AWD, 07 MKZ AWD, 500, montego, Mazdaspeed6, an AWD volvo, or a Jag x-type, or an f-series. Top choices Truck: F150 FX4 5.4 liter supercrew FFV 4x4 Sedan: 07 Volvo S80 V8 AWD
Earthspirit60
Be carefull what you wish for...you just may get it! I own both an AWD Subaru XT Outback (Turbo, 5 speed) and a new Fusion SEL V-6. The Subaru positivly hauls! The AWD is what allows this. No traction control or FWD could ever control this level of HP and torque. That being said, The V-6 in the Fusion has great power, is smooth and runs on regular vs premium fuel. If it had more torque, it would simply overwhelm the chassis (...even with huge tires). The current 6 speed auto has a substantial delay before it kicks down. When it does, the FWD is working way too had to put this torque to the pavement and most of the power is wasted in wheel spin or retarded by the T/C. With a 6 speed manual with limited slip, you could get more of this power down and more easily modulate it. I believe a 6 speed manual/limited slip 3.0 would out run a 3.5 automatic and get better mileage doing so. Lets hope Ford gives us this option before the 3.5 V-6. PS. I bought the automatic Fusion, becuase my wife is physically limited and cannot drive any manual transmission car. Great website!
