I decided to finally install the HIDs that I received a week ago along with yellow halogen fogs. The kit is from Xenon Depot and is a 4300k kit. I'm glad that I invested in the digital ballasts so that I could avoid the BOW and flickering that others experience. The fog lights were fairly easy to install once I figured out what "screws" they said to remove. The HIDs weren't too difficult, just time consuming. The driver's side was easy, like everyone else said. However, the passenger side was a HUGE pain. I opted to go through the splash guard of the wheel well, which turned out to be fairly simple once I got it off. Total install time for the lows and fogs was 2 hours. I will try to snap some pictures tonight and post them. From what it looked like in the garage I am very pleased.

Pictures? I am looking at doing the same and i am very interested with how the 4300K look. Do they look like factory HIDs?

It's not the best pic since it's from my phone and my car is filthy due to the weather. They look like the bright white factory HIDs as opposed to the blueish ones. Definitely a night and day difference though.

Looks good. I have DDM 55w 5000k Fogs and Low beams. I love them. Such a difference. I had 50w 6000k that cost me well over $200 for just the high beams but the DDM kit for both lows and fogs was only $100 with quick shipping and blows the other kit out of the water. These cars definitely need Xenons, the halogens are horrible. I couldn't even see 10 feet down the road with the stock ones at all. It was very unsafe. I upgraded and can see everything so much clearer, and I have yet to be brighted out.

I almost went for the 5000k myself but opted for the 4300k. I totally agree with the difficulty seeing at night with stock lighting. They should have offered these as an option or even standard.

Disregard the success part of the thread. Just started getting condensation in my passenger side headlight. The rubber boot slipped off the back of the bulb so I pushed it back into place last night. Sure enough now the entire inside of the light has condensation in it. Any good ideas to fix it? I was reading around on here but didn't find many good solutions.

Pull the bulb during the day and let it air dry. You could use a hair dryer to speed it up.

I decided to try and dry it out today using a hair dryer. Apparently I didn't do a good enough job because a couple of hours later is fogged back up. However, not as bad as earlier. I'm hoping that with the warm weather coming soon that it evaporates the rest on its own. It's rather annoying though.

Hey mossman,

Congrats on the HID install. No flickering or anything seems pretty rare on these cars. I tried nearly everything on my 2010 fusion (relays, cancellers, but with an analog ballast) but I get random bulbs out and flickering, especially when I start the car.

Anyway, if I decide to get another kit, with a digital ballast, I'd much rather go through the wheel well like you did. You didn't have to break off any pins or clips to get the splash guard off did you? I just want to make sure it goes back in place fine after the install.

Thanks

A digital kit is definitely the way to go. The one that I used hasn't had any problem typically associated with installing HIDs on the Fusions. There were no broken clips/pins when I removed the splash guard. It's a tight fit to get to the bulb though. What I did was turn the wheel to the left and jacked up the passenger side slightly to have better access to the back. Also, don't make the mistake that I did by not securing the rubber boot 100% back onto the back of the housing. It builds up a lot of condensation quickly and mine finally are clear of all condensation.

I'm guessing it's too late, but if you ever go back in to the wirings, can you post some pics of the install rather than just results? =P
