raBit.
Anyone else running this size of tire? 245/45R17
Bhagen05
If you OEM size is P225/50R17, than the size P245/45R17 will fit. You can go to Discount Tire and use there tire size calculator. It lists that size tire as an additional option size for you vehicle. My link
raBit.
I had factrry 18inch rims on, and bought 17inch for winter The tire strore said they should be about the same size. But for some reason they look bigger. I just thought if some one else bought them, and is running them. It could give me a little peace of mind.
steveo64
Hi there, I found a good deal on used 225/60 R17 tires. The stock ones are 225/50 R17. I know they 60 series are a larger diameter (about 5 inches in circumference diff). Any comments on how they would be on the Fusion? midas
When tire dealers talk about tires being the same size the are referring to OD or overall diameter. Keeping the same OD is important for many reasons. But what they can't tell you, without personal experience, is whether the additional width of the tire is going to cause you issues. In your case that tire is 20 millimeters wider than the OEM tire. That's almost an inch wider. If the tolerances are tight you might start rubbing. And you might not notice it at first. They can seem fine but rub under heavy load, sharp turns or when hitting bumps.

I wouldn't do it.
