Gr8Cents2
I have a 2011 White fusion that I had tinted about 2 weeks ago. They used 3M Color Stable. 35% on the sides and 20% on the back. it looks very nice. The dots are separating about 1/2 way down. I wanna try the heat gun/brush tip and see how that works. Because its not really dark tint, its not really noticeable unless you know what to look for. Paid about $300 for the sides, back, and sunroof. There was 1 problem though: since i have the light interior, sunlight goes through the back glass and created a terrible, terrible reflection of the carpet and speakers behind the back seat. It made the tint on the back window look whitish and very hazy. I even cleaned the tint but it was already clean. My solution was to buy a chocolate colored non-reflective fabric and we cut it the shape of the back dash. That did the trick perfectly and it doesn't look out of place. Now when we look back through the rearview mirror, it looks tinted and very very clear. I guess another minor complaint would be that there are two lint bits making two tiny airbubbles towards the bottom of the back glass. i can clearly see them up close from the outside, no biggie though. That there aren't more is a wonder.
Sibze
Got mine tinted last week. Sorry I can't remember the %'s. I think it was 23 front and 18 back. Yes to dark for the law man but... thats ok. Having the issue with the back window as well, after reading this thread I will be asking to get the black vinyl strip as well. (Sorry iPhone pic)
Pcran
Very nice. Looks clean. I really wanted a pearl white Fusion... went with black though.
wht93gted
I see tons of people in this thread complaining about the "dots" and how it's not sticking and it looks bad. You just need to find a tinting place which knows how to properly tint windows and it's not an issue. I had my wifes 2011 Fusion tinted and it's beautiful...I'll take some pics later on. He's also one of the only places which does 1 piece rear windows. It's not an issue on the Fusions, but things like Vette's many places do 2 piece rear windows because it's too hard to do 1. Here're some shots of this guys work. You can see the full dot matrix completely stuck down. you can check out his myspace too; you don't have to be a member to see. http://www.myspace.com/advancedsolarcontrol/photos http://www.wedotint.com/
hammerg26
I just got my car tinted today - how long should I wait to see if the "bubble" around the "bubbles" disappear?
aznetcowboy
How much did it cost for you guys to get tinted? To get my 2011 Fusion tinted to "state legal" darkness, it cost me $300 at my dealer. Generally you can't go wrong if you ask for "state legal" for the color/darkness of the tinting.

2010Murder
I think tint makes a car more good looking. And tint comes along with privacy! Youll never have to worry about people gawking while your picking your nose. My tint so far seems to be the most extreme, didnt go through all the pages.. I have a 2010 sport awd, I have completely murdered it out. The tint that I put on about 2 years makes my car look even darker I have. Windshield- 5% brow with 35% full windshield. Front windows- 20% with 5% on top. Back windows and rear window- 15% with 5% on Top. Sunroof-15%. I have gotten pulled over numerous times. Most being warnings, only a few fix it tickets, will not fix it and haven't. The last cop that got me told me to just roll down my windows when passing just so he can see in. and I have to say there hasnt been many stops since then. But all in all, I recommend tint due to privacy, and it just makes a good difference to cars.

2010Murder
No its not and none of the tint on my car is legal, pure illegal. Lmao ya probably :-P I get that same response a lot!!!
raBit.
20% all around (except windshield) cost me 180 dollars. A co worker did mine for me and did a better job then the shop that did my focus, and did a better job(and cheaper). I have the dot problem on the back window as well, but you can't really notice it unless you are close or in a high vehicle. 35% is the legal limit here. Had it a couple months, no issues so far. except backing up to the curb at my girlfriends house, no street light(at night). I just roll the window down. bigmatt404
I went with the 5%...Extremely dark, but WELL worth it. 32% is the Legal Limit in GA, but who needs laws anyway? Edited January 13, 2012 by bigmatt404
DanielMcGregor
FULL WINDSHILED!!!! Is that even legal? I think that last cop wants you to roll down your windows just so he can check you out when you drive by. In Virginia, it is legal to tint the front window to 70%. It does take a special medical waver to be signed by an optometrist and submitted to the DMV. This waver also allows for darker tint of the front windows. Normally it is only lawful to tint the front windows to 50%, but with the waiver, you can go to 35%. IMO it is well worth the trip to see the eye doc... Mention something like photophobia or having large pupils gives you light sensitivity. This should do the trick. Standard VA Tint: Rear: 35 (20 if factory tinted) Front: 50 AS1: 50 Medical Waver: Rear: 35 (20 if factory tinted) Front: 35 Windshield: 70 If VA allows this type of windshild tinting I'm sure other states do as well.
TheCurrent
5% on the back doors, and rear windshield. 20% on both front doors.
Bwildr
Just got mine done today, went 35% on the front and back doors and was able to go 5% on the rear windshield. The tint shops wouldn't let me go 35% in the front and 20% on the back doors, said to be legal all 4 doors had to be 35%. Either way, I think it looks great! I'll post pics tomorrow afternoon after I get out of work.

Jim Rockford
VA also requires tint shops to place a label telling the tint shade and type between the inside of the window and the tint . Called and got a quote from a place in town, 185 with a nationwide warrenty...Be getting it done ASAP. lx_2nv
I went 20% all around. Slightly illigal, but it looks good. Hey Man - what spoiler is that on your car? I am looking at Roush and 3D carbon spilers. Actually they may be one in the same but I like yours. Thanks.
ARFusion
Here is 15% ceramic tint. It is actually a bit lighter than normal 15%. I didn't have any major dot matrix issue, only that area is lighter. No biggie.
Daniel Day
I got these tinted when we first got the car a couple years ago but I think they are 20%. Looks so much better!
GovernorKC
I got my windows tinted yesterday. It looks like the tint isnt sticking to the dot matrix area. The shop said it could take a week before any bubbles disappear. Think I should wait a week before going back to the shop?

The shop said it could take a week before any bubbles disappear. Think I should wait a week before going back to the shop? My solution to the dot issue was to put the tint film up to the bottom of the dots, and then put a piece of solid black vinyl from the top of the tint film to the top of the window. The black vinyl is barely noticeable from the front seat, and looks like part of the surrounding frame from the outside of the car.[/color] Edited May 29, 2012 by MadMerc
GovernorKC
There were a few guys on here that got it to stick over the dots, I'll let the tint shop try again before suggesting the black vinyl.
GovernorKC
So I took my car back into the tint shop and they pretty much told me that there's no way to get the tint to look good over the dot matrix. He said it was a "design flaw in the car". Then he proceeded to rattle off his resume and how many cars a day he tints to prove he knows what he is talking about I guess. This shop doesn't do black vinyl anymore either because according to him it still looks like crap. I'm bringing the car back in today to have them fix a side window that they messed up on, hopefully they can try to get the back window to look a little better. For supposedly being the best tint shop in Milwaukee I have not been impressed at all.
