norbs8
I'm not sure if this is normal or not (the first v6 fusion I test drove I bought) but it seems like when I accelerate its not really that smooth unless you really baby it. It seems like the gas pedal is over sensitive and when you apply normal pressure from a complete stop it wants to launch off. Could there be some adjustment that just needs to be done to set the sensitivity or do I just need to get used to it. I thought it was normal until people who were driving my car started to comment on how its not smooth and wants to take off from a complete stop... and it will if you let it lol.
mav3rick
You could put your seat back a little so your entire foot isnt sitting on the gas? When I want to improve my gas mileage I do this hehe

I'm not sure how many PCM updates you've had but as I've had them applied I find the pedal sensitivity gets tweaked a bit. I can tell you my V6 definitely doesn't launch from a stop. With my last TSB update, I noticed it now takes a bit more pedal force to get the trans to kick down on the freeway to pass etc. Before that, it seemed to be overly sensitive to kickdown on the transmission with not too much pedal force. I'd have it checked just to see what they say.
norbs8
I just picked this car up and my guess is there has never been an update.
Monochrome11
When I first drove mine it seemed overly sensitive when I stepped on the pedal. It would tend to launch quicker than I was expecting. Once I got use to it, I was able to take off normally with out the initial sudden burst. I think it has more to do with the torque converter. My Fusion seems to have little forward force at idle when in gear. If on a slight incline, it will tend to roll backward. Most automatic that I driven don't do that. I think what happens with the Fusion it does not move much, if at all, when you have it in gear and you let your foot off the brake. When you step on the accelerator the torque converter "engages" and it feels like it is launching forward. I have learned to ease into the pedal more so than with other cars and it takes off normally. Edited June 14, 2012 by Monochrome11
