MikeS
Of course it depends on how hard you ride the vehicle, but on a 3 year, 36,000 lease, is it likely I'll need to replace the brakes? Thanks for any thoughts, Mike
akirby
I have 59K miles on my 06 Fusion 3.0L and I have yet to replace the brake pads. I tried when I replaced the tires but they said it wasn't necessary. 36K shouldn't be a problem.
MonoxideChild
My rears on my 2005 went out before the fronts at 65,000 miles. The fronts i didnt have to replace till 75,000 miles. The 06+ cars have even larger brakes, So those should last even longer.

STEEDASAL
from what ive seen the Fusions have a decent lasting brake set up. A normally driven cars brakes should last well beyond 36k miles
toyz
I concur. I traded my 2010 Sport with 62K miles and the brakes had never required new pads.
Bwildr
My car has a problem then... I have just about 34k on the clock on my 2010 fusion se and I have to replace my back brakes already. I'm the second owner of my car so I don't know how bad the original owner drove the car but I've been gentle with it since I've had it. Either way, I started hearing a scraping noise coming from my driver's side rear wheel when braking, I took it into the shop and the brake pad is bare and there is a nice ring scraped on my rotor... I'm not sure how the rear passenger brakes are but I find it weird that only one pad is bad.
akirby
This is a common failure and I've never heard of a definitive explanation. Some say it's the parking brake not fully disengaging or the stability control. There is something wrong though.
Midstein6
It's the parking brake. I have the same problem right now. Ford is supposedly throwing a recall out on it, so hold off if you can
