Tommy1954
Do any of you guys know how to remove the circled parts on the bumper, just the chrome pieces. Im thinking I have to get behind bumper, through the wheel well. or do they just pop out? thanks in advance
gsmith912
I have a 2012 Fusion SEL with the Monochrome appearance package. I removed mine from under the car by dropping the plastic panel that protects from underneath and part of the inner wheel well. The fog lamp and black inner assembly actually attach to the chrome surround which is then attached to the car so when the chrome part is free the fog lamp comes out with it. On my parts there are 4 molded tab clips on the back of the chrome surround that fit into slots on the car. Once you remove the underside panel, 3 are visible or easily to backed out. There is 1 on the top side which was a little hard to remove as you can't see it from underneath but you can access it. You kinda have to feel your way on that one. Once you see the lower clips you'll be able feel the upper one and free the assembly from the car. I used a very short, broad screwdriver to pry the clips free. There may be an easier way but....this worked for me and didn't take too much time. Everything went back together cleanly. I replaced the chrome surround with the SE black version. Looks much better in my opinion.

Once you get those assemblies out you then have access to the amber corners. Theres a screw underneath the fog assys holding er in. I removed those to tint them out properly, Once done I'll post some pics to show the difference.
SteveV
I tried to remove these bezels once like you guys mentioned, but I couldn't get those clips to budge and I didn't want to break them. I had planned to install Depo smoked corners, but gave up and sold them. so now I was thinking if I could just carefully tape around/mask off the corner lenses and spray tint them while they are still on the car???

Im sure that way will work too, Im just picky I have to fully remove parts to paint, plasti or tint. Yeah those top clips were a bitch, A 20 minute job ended up taking me over an 1 hour.
gsmith912
I'm thinking of replacing the amber/orange side lights with some smoked one's from Klearz. I guess I'll have to remove the fog lamp assemblies again. Someone had posted the full process for the sidelight replacement on the Klearz site and I was surprised I have to go thru the whole process again. I didn't think to look at the sidelights when I did the bezel replacement. I have a sterling grey metallic SEL with the Monochrome package. The amber sides just don't look right. Considering light smoked lenses with a black housing. I assume the OEM bulb is clear but thinking of purchasing the optional orange LED bulbs. I saw some pics somewhere and thought it looked much better but I don't think the bulb was lit in the pix. I will say the Klearz lites are surprisingly expensive. I live in MA...anyone know if changing the lenses will be a state inpection/Registry of Motor Vehicle issue?
