Jturner2
Can anyone tell me where the vapor management valve is located on my 2010 ford fusion
Jturner2
I love my fusion but the other day my check engine light came on . So I took it back to the dealer , they said that it was the vapor management valve and charged me $100.00 to fix. I thought that it should be covered under warranty . They said that wasn't part of the power train warranty . Looking at warranty I thought it was an emission part? Am I wrong ?
FusionDiffusion
Purge valve is mounted high on the firewall, to the right (medial) of the master cylinder. It's only covered under the 36,000 warranty. It's not considered core powertrain, and the emissions warranty does not cover it. For more information I suggest you read the warranty guide that came with your vehicle. Jturner2
Thanks for info . I have extended warranty and the $100. Was the deductible . Do have any idea how much part cost.
rejester
Purge valve is mounted on the firewall, passenger side. It's only covered under the 36,000 warranty. It's not considered core powertrain, and the emissions warranty does not cover it. For more information I suggest you read the warranty guide that came with your vehicle. Where exactly? What has to be removed to get at it? Thanks.
FusionDiffusion
I updated my instructions. It's near the master cylinder, basically top and center on the firewall. You will have to remove the cowl to get to it. Look for the metal heat shield around it.
rejester
I'll give it a go and report back when I'm done. Ignore my post from the other thread asking the same question. Thanks.
