terrierl
OK. So I have a few issues that I have noticed with my 2013 Fusion SE. They are minor in comparison to other postings I have seen but annoying to say the least. 1. I noticed the left tail light is misaligned. The right tail light sits perfectly in the space provided but the left side has a large gap between the right side of the tail light and the edge of the opening provided. I did not notice this upon delivery but it may have shifted while driving??? 2. The Hood is misaligned. The left front of the hood (closest to the grill) has a larger gap between the hood and the front of the car compared to the right front. I'm guessing hood has to be adjusted somehow with the hinges attached to the vehicle. Again I did not notice this upon delivery but it could have shifted while driving...? 3. I'm getting an annoying vibrating sound from the rear of the vehicle when slowing down which only seems to be audible when the gas tank is at least 3/4 full. I'm guessing it has either something to do with the weight of the gas tank or the sound of the gas in the tank swooshing around. I've never experienced this with the 8 prior cars I have owned. It seems to be the worst right after topping off at the gas station. 4.There is an annoying electrical sound coming from the speakers (I think???) when the radio is on. If the radio is off it seems to go away. At first I thought this was coming from the dashboard in the speedometer area....It's like an electrical/shorting kind of sound.... I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing the same types of problems but thought I would share.
acdii
On 4, do you have the radio playing anything, or just on with the volume down? The Fusion uses road cancellation tech, there are mics hidden around the cabin and the speakers make a noise that cancels road noise. While sitting still you can hear little sounds coming from the speakers.

While sitting still you can hear little sounds coming from the speakers. I believe the noise cancellation technology only applies to the hybrid models. But I only hear the sound when the radio is on and the volume is either very low or @ 0. If I power down the radio the noise goes away.
acdii
What you describe is the noise cancellation. Not sure its only on the Hybrids, it may be in all the SE and Ti models.
acdii
Well, it is only listed under Hybrid, but you describe what I hear on mine, a clicking and popping noise, which I can make it do more by making engine noises.
fistfulladirt
Aside from the usual trunk alignment mismatch, I've noticed a slight resonating sound coming from the rear, possibly muffler area, at very slow speeds.
green.cubic
I should be taking delivery of my Fusion Hybrid SE this weekend or next Monday and I will be going over that thing at the dealership with a fine tooth comb in part looking for issues I've seen described in this forum. I saw some other folks posting about how the fit of the trunk was also misaligned in the first batch that went out and will be checking for that as well. Thanks for posting - I'll update this when I get the car with my findings.

I've filled it about 4 times so far and the most it has taken is a little over 12 gallons. The distance to empty indicator was 10 miles the last time I filled it. It's supposed to be a 16.5 gallon tank so I'm not sure why it seems so far off.... The hybrid has a 13.5 or 14 from what I remember. Maybe they accidentally installed the hybrid tank on my SE 1.6 ECO???
akirby
It's a problem with certain early build gas tanks. Some have already been replaced which fixed the problem. Engineering is looking at it and I expect a TSB shortly. In the meantime just report it to the dealer and see if they'll replace the tank. I have the same issue and will wait a bit for a TSB.

I think I will wait for a TSB also.... I had two of the exterior black door panels replaced due to scratches prior to delivery (one with electronic code an the one next to it) and the service department botched the repair. It looks terrible now and I wish I would have just left it alone. The rubber molding isn't aligned correctly and isn't flush like it was prior to repair. Im even getting a rattle in the door now. I would be embarrassed if I were the tech that did the job. Of course I'm bringing the car back in for them to fix it. I could only imagine what they will do swapping the entire gas tank....
fistfulladirt
Keep an eye out also for scratches on the front plastic fascia directly below upper chrome grill, possibly from grill installation. (Yup mine has scratches.)

fistfulladirt
Thanks...I checked and didn't see any scratches. Are they doing anything for you on that? I haven't brought it to their attention. I have the car in semi-storage, 1,500 miles on it since october. I did show the trunk gap to the dealer right after purchase, they blew it off. I will take it in this spring for recall work and bring it up again.
