JoeyToronto
I know this is a Fusion forum, but for a while now I always wanted to know what they'll be doing with the Edge and here it is...love the tail/head lights and those spacious seats, looks like it will have a lot of room. The back in certain angles kinda looks like the bulky Toyota RAV 4, kinda ugly. Same lighting as the Lincoln with the strip across the back. The concept in these pictures look like the fully loaded trim. http://www.thecarconnection.com/news/1088595_2015-ford-edge-concept-preview Edited November 22, 2013 by JoeyToronto
Chris Simons
Ford has the best looking line of cars, period. I know the Fusion is a Euro designed car, that's why I love it so much. I know the Focus and Fiesta and selling like crazy too. The Escape, Explorer and Edge should do well also.
JoeyToronto
I think it kinda looks like a Land Rover. very much alike actually. But they're finally in the game. I see those older Taurus models with those huge ugly oval windows. I am like, what were they thinking??? I am not crazy about the back of my 2011 Fusion though. I never liked it. Especially the cage wire in the tail lights and the razor blade like grille..lol..I love how it drives though. It's like finding your partner, they may not drop dead gorgeous but something about them you like...lol Edited December 26, 2013 by JoeyToronto
cbdallas
Take a look at the front of a new Hyundai Santa Fe and you can't help but notice a STONG resemblance.
JoeyToronto
What I don't get is that these automakers make cars that look like the one next to it as they're afraid to step out of the box. Have people gone so boring since the 60s where cars were so interesting to look at ( well, when I see pics, I wasn't born back then) that automakers are afraid to be the outsider because boring people will simply not buy the unique looking car?. Now, all the cars look alike. Boooring. Before buying the Fusion I was almost going to buy the bugly Nissan Cube, thank god I didn't because I heard it's crap. But because it looked different. Reminds me of all the glass square condos being built in Toronto, boring plain cookie cutter condos.
akirby
So you would prefer an ugly vehicle just because it's different? You know what changed from the 60s? Fuel economy. CAFE. Today's designs are driven by max fuel economy and that requires a low coefficient of drag and that dictates a certain basic shape for most mainstream vehicles. Niche vehicles can get away with more radical designs. But it's also about appealing to what the masses want. Personally, I see a lot of differentiation between a Camry, Accord, Optima, Fusion and Mazda6. They don't look at all alike to me. I'm not sure what else they should do to make them look different and still be a 4 door midsized sedan.

I guess the Juke wasn't big enough; it's certainly 'bugly' enough...
