Window Tint - How dark are yours?

Recommended Posts

So I've been driving my new Fusion for a little over a month now and I can't go one more day without getting my windows tinted. It's about time I added some privacy and sunlight blockage to the ol' fish tank on wheels. My question is how dark are some of you guys tinting your windows and what paint/interior color do you have? I previously drove a black Mustang with black interior and 5% window tint so that is what I am used to and what I am considering doing on my Fusion, however I'm slightly hesitant to do so because the paint on my Fusion is the Platinum White Tri-coat so I am worried that 5% windows on a white car will stand out WAY too much and the cops will have a field day the second they see me rolling down the street. With that said, I do have the cream color interior along with a sunroof so maybe the combination of those will allow enough light inside the vehicle to where the tint won't look AS dark but I'm not sure. What do you guys think?

PS: Do you guys recommend installing the tint strip along the top of the windshield? I have done this with my past 2 cars but I almost think the Fusion would look kind of goofy with it. If anyone has done this to their Fusion and likes the way it looks please post some pics so I can get a better idea of what it would look like. Thanks!

I use 50%. It's legal in my state and I just like to take the edge off the clear. I tried a windshield strip but took it off. It was cut around the matrix and looked hideous. I also like the front and rear sides to match.
