komondor
My wife is driving a new 2016 Fusion we just purchased about 1,000 miles on it and while she was driving down the highway today the power steering failed, she was able to get off the highway and turned the car off then back on and the steering seems fine. I have seen issues with the power steering for other years and some recalls but nothing for the 2016s. She does not have the auto park feature. I am pretty sure there are no stored codes since the check engine light did not come on a message about power steering did but she was busy trying not to crash the car rather than writing down the error message.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Ugh. on the wife safely getting off the road. So no assist at all? Wonder if we headed towards another EPAS recall. Too early to blame salted roads for rusting out a bolt here or there ...

If there was an error displayed, chances are the system stored an error code. The fault could be as simple as a wiring connector not quite attached - or a rack that's on its way out. Get to the dealer ASAP as the start cycles could cause the fault code to be aged off... And there are fault codes that are kept in memory, but don't immediately illuminate the SES light.
