khutch2
My 2014 Fusion SE Sport always hesitates when I step on the gas to get on the highway ramp or pass a car. Even just accelerating out of my driveway has this hesitation. It accelerates fine once it kicks in. I thought is was normal since it is the smaller of the ecoboost choices. After reading a bit on this it seems this may not be normal. Should I experience this?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Depends on the severity of the hesitation. If you are in 3rd or higher gear at the time you step into it/go WOT, it may decide to shift 1 gear lower then 2 gears lower to attain the desired acceleration. Some of that is due to the transmission logic that Ford programs from the factory, and is seen on other model lines as well. There it is addressed most often by an aftermarket tune. If it is an extended hesitation, then there could actually be an issue with any number of components. I would first pull codes to see if any are set and point to the culprit(s). Also check with the dealer to see if there is a PCM/TCM calibration update. How many miles on your Fusion, btw?
