Fuel381
Have steep driveway and it’s winter here in Michigan so I have to turn off the traction control and really get tires spinning to get up driveway. Tonight the orange wrench message came on and it’s shifting hard into gear and at some points going from higher speed to a stop won’t go and revs up? Someone told me car wash to rinse all snow and crap out could work. What should I do? Never had issue with any of my last two fusions. Love them. FusionDiffusion
Have the codes read and post them back here. I would avoid driving it until it's fixed. FYI it is never a good idea to excessively spin the tires because you can damage the transaxle. You should not exceed about 30 mph on the speedometer, and you should not allow the tires to spin for more than a minute without a five minute rest to allow the transmission and differential to cool down.

Agreed. See if there are any codes, although a wrench light may not set a code. You may have overheated the transaxle by excessively spinning the wheels. Also, if the wheels suddenly gained traction, the sudden stop would shock the driveline, possibly damaging it. I can't imagine what washing it would do to help.
