echelon64
I have a 2011 SE 2.5L with the manual A/C controls, none of that fancy auto a/c stuff. My issue is that to me it seems the air coming out of the vents is rather anemic, I have to set it to its highest setting of 4 on the dial to get any air to come across. If I set it to 1 you can feel air coming out of the vents but very slowly. So essentially I'm running the A/C at its highest fan setting all the time. A/C blows cold so what would should I start diagnosing without having to pull the dash? It seems that removing the glovebox I have access to the whole blower motor and it seems simple enough to take out, I'm thinking of just pulling it out and checking to see if it isn't dirty or anything like that. Can you access the evaporator this way to clean out the airbox facing side? And any steps on diagnosing the blower motor resistor? I'll be pulling it out and checking the connector and pigtail since it seems on my model the blower motor speed depends on this resistor. Thanks for any help.
echelon64
I should add, this is what my A/C controls look like : https://imgur.com/a/5vCKi58 which I assume are manual controls seeing as there is no auto option anywhere near there.

andyross
The 2006-2012 Fusions have an issue where the blower motor resistor or controller fries one of the connections on the connector that plugs into it. It usually results in the fan going completely dead, but there could be other issues with the non-auto setup.
eGuru
If adjusting the fan knob results in 4 different flow rates, the fan and resistor are fine. When you select different mode switches, does the flow go to the correct vents?
echelon64
Yeah it goes to the correct vents. I'll check the blend door actuators as well but like I said the airflow is very weak regardless of what fan setting I have on. I'll be pulling the blower motor and giving everything a thorough cleaning but it just seems an odd issue to have. To find the cause you will need to take some voltage readings. Do you have a digital multimeter?
