bbf2530
Hi all. For informational purposes: I have SYNC 3 version 18093 in my 2018 MKZ (just updated about a month ago), and as of today there is a new SYNC 3 upgrade available. I have no details yet as to what version it will upgrade to, since I have downloaded the files from the Lincoln Owners website but not installed it in my car yet. I will post back with details as soon as I install it. For those interested, go to the Lincoln or Ford Owners website, sign in and check to see if a new SYNC update is available for your vehicle. Good luck. Edited September 29, 2019 by bbf2530

Yes, the zip file for my 2018 MKZ is "JR3T-14G381-AS" as well. Guess they have certified 19205 for North American use. WoooHooo!

Hi Multitask. Thanks for the heads up on the subject date. Corrected...lololol I'll post as to what the update "JR3T-14G381-AS" actually does update once I install mine. And one question as to your last post stating "SYNC3 Consumer Assembly Upgrade - Release 3.0.21 - Only for NonNav/NonEU assemblies.". I am likely confused, but are you referring to the "JR3T-14G381-AS" update file or another one? Because "JR3T-14G381-AS" is a certified update for my 2018 MKZ, which is NAV equipped. Thanks and good luck. Edited September 29, 2019 by bbf2530
alcohenusa
Unable to get the update for my vehicle. Web site just gives the spinning circle. I even tried adding another VIN for an identical car and get the same thing. For my other sync 1 vehicle, the site works fine. The site has never worked correctly the entire time I have owned the vehicle (year and a half). Help line always says known issue and working on it. I added another fusion, but cannot verify it is equipped the same as mine and I can get the update for that one. I am leary of trying to install it if I cannot see that it has all the same features. 2018 Fusion Platinum with Nav and Sync Connect currently at 18093. Hi alcohenusa. That seems to happen with the website once in a while. Has happened to me too. I would advise waiting until the site notifies you as to whether your car needs the update. Not every car needs every update. Keep us updated and good luck.
alcohenusa
Thanks. Unfortunately, I cannot even get to the page where it says if there is an update. The spinning circle appears as soon as I click the menu link. Previously, when it did work, I was able to get 18093 and the one previous to that. Reporting a successful installation has never worked for this vehicle. I’ll keep trying and thanks again.

Yes, same file, 2.8Gigs ...That is what is my autoinstall.lst . so they must have released both non-NAV and NAV versions... my car was non-nav at first , but now it's NAV with 3.4

It will respond eventually, imagine 10,000 users logging in at once... ? I was even looking at the lincoln site, and it spun, but eventually gave me the info...
alcohenusa
Decided to give it another try today and it worked! Downloaded and now updated to 19025. ReportIng a successful installation still doesn’t work for me. It always says successfully reported but still tells me I have an update. Not going to worry about this issue as it has been this way the entire time I have had the car.

Good, the site will only know if you updated if you can upload the .xml file it generated in the SyncMyRide folder... if it's not there... don't worry about it... FordPass can do that too... 19025 is probably the latest for you. ?
bbf2530
Hi gang. Okay, I installed the SYNC update. Update went relatively smoothly and my SYNC system is now Build 19205. I would offer the same warning that I did with my previous SYNC update and the NAV maps update: You may get an early message that the update is finished when it is actually not. Leave the USB in for at least 10 minutes after the first "Update Complete" message, to be sure it actually is complete. Having seen it happen before, I left the USB in when the first message popped up, and a few minutes later, SYNC rebooted and the update continued. So give it time and do not be in a rush. Also, it took several restarts after the update to actually have my SYNC Build # show as updated from 18093 to 19205. Good luck.
Multitask
so here is the big question... what bug fixes and anything new? (I'm sure others will ask too)

(I'm sure others will ask too) Hi Multitask. That certainly is the big question, and unfortunately, I do not know yet. At the end of the update, it gave me the option of clicking on an information box to see what is new. However, it only gave me a generic information blurb, to the effect of "Upgrades and improvements to your SYNC 3 software and user experience". Similar to what we get when we click on the "What is new" option on the Lincoln (or Ford ) Owner websites. I did the update in my driveway and did not drive my MKZ since updating. So I will post back with my observations once I have time to drive and use SYNC for a while. ?

PhilM2017
Is there anywhere to download the newest sync3 update for the Ford Fusion besides from owner.ford.com?
Multitask
Why would you not want the one from owner.ford.com ? It should be the one that Ford authorizes.

Hi Phil. What Multitask stated. Why are you looking for another source for the update? Are you having problems trying to download the update from the Ford Owners site? I would recommend not downloading from another source. Most of the online sources I have seen are "bootleg" versions of EU SYNC 3 updates. And those are not certified for US use and often seem to cause issues. Let us know what the issue is and good luck.
bbf2530
Hi gang. For those who have recently had issues trying to perform the last step of a SYNC 3 update (reporting the update to Lincoln/Ford): The "Report update to Lincoln/Ford" step of a SYNC 3 update is now working. It had not been reliably operative for about two months now but is working as of last night for me. FYI...It took several hours for the site to update my information. Rechecking immediately showed it had not yet updated. I needed to follow the instructions to notify Lincoln of the update, then sign out of the Lincoln or Ford Owners site and sign back in a few hours later. Hope this information helps and good luck.
